If done correctly, sub $900 for the latest iPhone 16 :)

    • I assume one could not do this if originally paid for it using Ultimate Gift Cards?

      • I think you should be able to as you can get back via HB GC

        • Oh awesome thanks for the reply mate. Any chance you'd know if its possible to do at a different JB from the one you purchased from?

      • Unsure about your situation but i paid partially via gift card and they applied a refund to the gift cards , give or a go and you never know mate

        • Thanks for the info. Just curious what kind of gift card did you use? I used multiple Ultimate gift cards that were $50 or $100 denominations, so not sure if a refund amount of more than that would be accepted back into the card?

          • @KiwiBloke: I used the Ulimate gift cards $50x5 approx and then paid the rest via CC, so you should be okay

          • @KiwiBloke: I used 26 x $50 ultimate gift cards. They gave me a $100.00 JB gift card

Price adjusted for the phones that I purchased less than 30 days. Try your local JB and ask nicely

    • Can also confirm was able to get a gift card for the refund/balance ..JB Hi-Fi was great

      • +1

Nice! The cheapest iPhone you can get if you have managed to signed up for the plan. Hopefully, they’ll do it again next year especially now that tariffs are implemented

    • Did you call up the store before going in? Do you just ask for the difference and they are all good with it ?

      • +1

I Called them first, then went in-store to process the refund

      • You don't need to call, just go up to the counter and say the phone you bought has dropped in price, can they refund the difference. I got it back on my cc

  • +2

Can confirm I get the gift card refund for the difference. Love JB

    • Did you call up the store before going in? Do you just ask for the difference and they are all good with it ?

    • what did you say?

      • Just ask for a price-drop refund for your iphone.

The manager had a look at my receipt and process the refund straight away. No questions ask.

Ok, I just came back from local JB where I purchased the phone and successfully got the refund back to original Credit card. They just need to sight the transaction I made by the card. $220 back reduces the price of 16 PM to $1392. Will get the GST back when I travel overseas in June. This is even better than the 15PM deal last year. I did not call them in advance, just walked in and asked for it.

    • +1

Crazy price for the 16PM, well done!

  • Has anyone else not been invoiced/received the termination invoice (i.e $766 or $799)? I am yet to see anything an email, JB app and Telstra app.

    • +1

You should’ve received it within a few hours to max a day wait
I didn’t do this deal and should’ve since technically could snag this iPhone 16 for less than $600 after TRS

      • My thoughts exactly and i'm unsure if one should be worried or if one might be so lucky?

        • It has happened before for me when I did the Optus plan from Gerry but I haven’t come across a comment before on your situation

    • I’d delete you comment bro

  • Signed up for 3 plans and received price drop difference on gift cards ($620 all up $200 + $200 + $220)
Staff member and manager were super nice and not hesitant at all. But they did note that the price drop difference is only valid within 2 weeks of purchase.

    • price drop difference is only valid within 2 weeks of purchase.

      +1

    • can you ask for another price adjustment since they dropped the iphone price again?

  • Do JB have an actual policy around refunding the difference after a price drop? I can't find anything on their website.

    • I think it's not on their website but they do have a 14 day "price protection" policy. It may be up their discretion whether or not it's honoured though? In my experience online and anecdotal reports I've seen that generally they will.

In this case obviously they have grounds not to, considering it was a promotion - so your mileage may vary.

      • it applies regardless of being a promotion or not

        • Yes I’m aware it’s worked for people, I just meant they would have reasonable grounds to decline considering the nature of the deal offered w/ Telstra

Having taken advantage of this deal earlier when it was live, today I went back to the store where I purchased and they happily refunded the 220 difference back on my original card (citing a 30 day price protection policy?!).
Final cost close to $900 for the iPhone 16 Pro.
Also, already ported out and received my final voucher repayment bill for $766.
    Thank you Ozb community :)

  • Guys the iPhone 16 pro 128gb is down from $1577 to $1529 today, go get that extra $48!

    • And if you can get a price match from Officeworks they have their 256gb pro at $1729 (JB still have it for $1777)

  • Went in today and got the difference refunded no questions asked.

  • I bought the iPhone the Saturday before last, and I’m planning to visit the store tomorrow. It’s been just over two weeks. Does anyone know if they might still give me a refund for the price difference?

    • +1

Worth a try, quite possibly - you can always call in advance and check first. You can also try different stores, any store can do it

  • received the $200 back for price drop on saturday - how does TRS work? does the phone have to be sealed? thanks

  • Signed up for the deal when it was first posted. Just wondering if I have an unopened iphone 16 128gb can I walk in and exchange for iphone 16 pro 128gb and pay the difference?

    • Call and ask, up to their discretion

    • Yes, I changed it with plus 256gb no issues.

  • So the price protection refund people are getting is that a 14 day policy or 30 day policy?. My purchase was made on 20th April so it’s more than 2 weeks now.

    • +3

14-day price drop - 30 days is general return policy, so if your phone’s still unopened, then just return and buy another at new lower price

    • +1

I was able to get a price difference on my 16pm yesterday as it was spot on the 14 day mark. The manager was unhelpful said if I brought it the next day they would not honour the 14 day policy mark 🙄

      • What exact date did you make the purchase?

        • 21st April
Yesterday was the 5th May. It was the exact 14th day so if I did not read these posts then I would have not received extra $200 back into my pocket.

          • @joomon: Thanks for confirming!
Good on you for catching it just in time.

  • meh, tried the price drop guarantee, just over 14 days (3 days over to be exact) and no dice. Very unhelpful staff/manager. They mentioned it was a strict 14 day policy.

Good luck to you guys that try.

    • These are the times where credit card price protection comes in handy! (assuming you had used the card to pay balance)

      • +1

checked the policy and it said it has to be paid in full. I think the $1400 gift card promo negates this.

If anyone's attempted successfully initiating the price policy protection from their credit card policy, hit me up.

Has anyone had any luck in the last few days of getting the $99 refunded? I've tried a few times now and seems that both JB and Telstra chat are a hard no.

    • Don’t ruin it for all of us…

    • +1

Do it through the Telstra app

      • Cheers mate did it through Telstra app
