Cheapest it has been this year, cheaper than Harvey Norman. Most powerful tablet at this price currently.
Silver and Blue available.
PB at OW to make it even cheaper.

There are no tariffs on this into Australia!!
But possibly a price hike for everyone because Apple wants to save its best market, which is the USA right now (iOS is 55% of America compared to other countries).
Or a price reduction because they've got a lot of excess stock? Interesting times.
Apple will get an exemption.
Knowing Apple they’ll increase the cost in other regions to boost up their profit margins. Sony done a similar thing.
@Ronnnie: I don’t know if a simple trip to Mar-a-Lago will get Apple exempt. It would require firing literally EVERYONE that is not white.
Also, so far this year, they haven’t done any excess price gouging on most of their devices, other than the currency conversion and additional GST.
@FujinShu: It'll be more about playing the stock market.
Look at Nvidia, Trump bans H20 chips to China, shares go down. Jenson goes to Mar-a-Lago and pays a million dollars to have dinner with Trump, chips are allowed, shares go up 20%. A week later the chips are banned again and shares go down.
All Trump needs to do is make an announcement and let his buddies know before hand and they can just continue to make themselves rich. Meanwhile the huge pension funds can't keep up and keep losing money.
@freefall101: They could ask Trump to allow stuff, but I’m saying it won’t happen just because of a dinner, because Trump HATES Apple, largely because of its non-compliance with US intelligence firms and their affirmative action programs for employing others (which Trump will classify as anti-white DEI), which go against one of his new executive orders.
@freefall101: Look at the share charts & they have patterns of sick person EKG ~ shareholder gambling disorder ;)
But there's also anomaly of overpaying for restrictive iPadOS when DeX (for PC) with S22/3/4/5 Ultra can do much more with S-pen & superior cameras. For serious productivity, you use desktop OS like HarmonyOS Next, Windows, macOS, Linux…
I heard they would stop making them altogher. Then the second hand market will sky-rocket, time to buy older models and sell for profit when the sky falls in!
Rather pay $500 for the latest iPad with 128gb.

Yeah with Apple products you mostly are always best to buy them when they first are released or close to it. Because over the life of their devices the prices never decline much and with an old device like this the support life has already been reduced significantly despite the price being so high still. This is an almost 3 year old tablet. Pretty ancient at this point.
Agreed with the support life. My parents have my old iPad that's work perfectly fine for them and I can't even use the YouTube app anymore because it's telling me to update the iOS in order to update the YouTube app. But it won't let me upade iOS cause my iPads too old… I wonder if it's the same for android tablets or specifically an issue for iPad so they make you buy a new one.
How old is that one? My 6th gen is hanging on by a thread, but it still good for YouTube. fingers crossed
It's a fair point, not sure why people weren't happy with hearing this. Anything around that 5 year mark starts to slow due to heat and general use. You can squeeze a bit more life out of their laptops, because you can open them up, clean them, re-paste etc. Can't really do that with their tablets.
If you don't mind any of those things, and mainly use them for leisure, then buying them a few years later is obviously better.
They obviously consider paying ~$100 less for this over the latest generation 2025 version with extra storage and years extra of support isn’t worth the extra cost. Each to their own. My previous iPad I had for around 8 years, support pretty much ends at that point with the more premium air models. On the budget ones like this I believe it’s around 6 years. So yeah if you buy an older model for slightly less you are losing a significant amount of value in terms of support. You can probably get another 5 years out of this, but then app compatibility with an older version of iOS can become an issue. Buy the newest model for slightly more and be able to have it years longer. No brainer!
I found with the tablets, the battery life will obviously degrade over the time, but unlike a phone even an old one can still last for hours of screen on time. I have an old Samsung tablet from 2019, still can get 6 hours screen time. The software support what has killed mine.
@Ronnnie: As someone that overpaid for one of their MacBooks a little over 10 years ago, I can attest to this. I was in agreeance with OP's original point. It has, however, paid for itself twice over due to my occupation.
My 6th gen is currently in the pits for anything heavy duty, even during some lite gaming (I'm talking match-3 games lol) on low settings, you can feel it cooking under the back panel. It is what it is, and heat is the biggest killer for electronics.
As you stated: Pay a little more closer to release, it's supported longer. A little later, less support.
Problem is finding stock at Officeworks.
Many stores have stock
If it's in stock at their warehouse it counts as well.
Congratulations to you.
How did you sign up for JB corporate? I signed up a few times for JB Business / JB Corporate and the login never worked despite getting successfully registration notification emails.
I just done it through ART super portal they had the offer through there as well
I got that deal as well, good timing as my daughter needed one for grade 2. Not sure why all the neg votes. Its always good to see what the atl is to make an informed decision irrespective if it once a once off.
Might want to buy the 11th Gen 128GB for ~ $500

64GB in mid 2025 should be ~ $300 price point
Yeah extra storage, longer support life would be well worth spending a little more for.
64GB in mid 2025 should be ~ $300 price point
yes it should be.
I can't find it now but there was an article on popular iOS website, 10th Gen WiFi 64GB went on sale in the US for $199.
then funny enough the article got updated and the 11th Gen WiFi 128GB was on sale for the same price USD$199 (roughly $300AUD). not sure why seems like they werent that popular and they needed to clear stock. can't remember the store sorry I think it was Walmart or Bestbuy.
here I found another article mentioning the 10th Gen price. https://www.theverge.com/good-deals/2024/10/12/24267888/appl…
except this isn't the one I saw, because the one I read had an update with timestamp right at top of article saying 11th Gen is now the same $199 price.
hi my name is marcus. whats best price for a 128gb please. i am in year 4.
Hi DH. It was my son who posted that and genuinely asking this community…. So yes his question was legit.
PS i ended finding him the latest gen iPad 128gb for $599 I think on eBay, and it had a 10% coupon off.
You must be bored looking back at my history to see if it was a kid or not. Shane on you.
Ok Shane.
@r3ckless: He was taking the piss on misspelling shame as Shane.
Good things.
My son is in y4 as well, so funny enough I'm looking for the same thing.
Do I go newer model or older cheaper model knowing he'll likely trash it.
64GB no thanks. Pay the extra and get the new iPad A16 with 128Gb and extra ram, newer processor
Would a used ipad pro 11 that is similar in price be better?
This question will always be answered by : What are you using it for? And where are you buying the used iten from?
Assuming you mean one of the A12 models (2018/2020) then only if you want 120Hz or Apple Pencil 2.
Really surprised by the 90+ votes
Anyone tried to return / cancel your recent purchase of the 10th Gen 64GB iPad as the 11th Gen 128 GB is only $50 ~ $60 more after price match at OW
