Switching Energy Providers for Bonus Cashback: $150 Electricity, $100 Gas @ Cashrewards through Econnex

80

Just noticed Econnex/CashRewards have increased the Cashback to $250 for both electricity/gas connections or $150 electricity $100 gas.
Look for yourselves but it seems combining with the current Powershop $150/$50 signup credit offer it could be one of the better energy switch deals we’ve had in a while.

this would be better I think. - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/902931

  • They seem to take a long time to approve cashback. I signed signed up for internet in January my cashback is overdue.

    • Yes I agree occasionally with CR the approval date passes without it being withdrawable however if the date has passed just put in a claim and they will approve it usually takes a day or so to get a response, it’s pretty straightforward in my experience.

Please note that clicking through these links may offer you different plans as opposed to visiting econnex directly.

  • Can this be used in conjunction with a referral code given to me from a friend?

No you can’t combine the referral codes unfortunately.

You must remain with Econnex Energy for a minimum term period of 75 days to be eligible for cashback.

    • Yes but with CR the 75 days seems to be from date of signup and not connection unlike when you go direct with Econnex for the gift cards but with the latest gift card offers the terms only require 30 days of connection so there’s that to consider.

  • I used cashrewards (Econnex) to get my powershop cashback, does the rule below mean I have to wait 6 months before I use a different signup group?

"Cashback is limited to one transaction per member account every six months through Econnex"

    • I’ve regularly used them again within the 6 months without any issues but I never return to the same retailer until 12 months after I recieved the last sign up offer as many of them have it in their terms.
So you should be fine so long as find another retailer that’s offering a decent deal, I’ve switched retailers using Econnex every 3-4 months for the past 4-5 years and I’ve never had any issues.

  • I'm already with power shop. Is there a good switch option for me?
