        Hi Ben
For US, given it is routed via Europe, can I get a typical download speed? When will local routing be activated?
        Dose US work in Canada?
What does "single use" mean - i.e. what do I get by paying an extra .45c to not have single use?
What happens if the data limit is reached - can you top up or do you have to purchase a new eSim?
If there is no app, how do you know how much data you have used?

    • Interesting. Has anyone used in Japan yet? Wondering if it will have the same issue…

      • Hey,

For Japan, our Data Exit Point is located in Japan (Traffic is Routed through Japan), so you shouldn’t experience any slowdowns.

    • @definitive Ah that's not good. Can you confirm speed was still continually slow?

Was about to grab a couple of esims. Might end up going with Roamless/Superalink which hopefully would be faster.

      • @neil As far as I remember, yes. My other half used T-Mobile, so I was leaching off their hotspot for more intensive use cases. Only for things like videos, Instagram, etc.

        • Interesting, that confirms what I've been reading at Reddit eSims. The US threads say to stick to Tello which is a T-Mobile MVNO as the data exit points all seem to be overseas.

  • Has anyone purchased an esim from here? Any issues with them?

    • Purchase an Indonesian, UAE and UK sim. All worked/working just fine. Probably didn't need the Indo one as the UK one gives data there, but for $5 why not.

  • @Ben-TeamFlex

is the server currently down? Im trying to activate an esim in Melbourne but its been saying Activating for a while?

    my order number is 32504

    • Hey @pknic93,

We have no issues on our end.
I've just sent an email to you following up on this.

We'll be more than happy to replace the eSIM for you if the issue continues :)

      Cheers,
      Ben.

      • After activation and using for 1 week I’d recommend this service to others!

Reliable comms when things weren’t working and good service for the past week in Tokyo! Thanks Ben !

Will book the next leg through here too!

  • Hi, just wondering do you offer physical SIM options?

    • Hey,

At this point in time we unfortunatley don't offer any physical SIM options.

      Cheers,
      Ben.

@Ben-TeamFlex Where is your data routed through for your 30 country European SIM? If the pings are high due to routing through other countries, does that mean the service is only really usable for web browsing, so VOIP and whatsapp calls would have difficulties as they are ping sensitive? Any discount codes? Looking at purchasing multiple esims.

    • Hey,
      Sorry for the late reply!

Our 30-country Europe eSIM plans are routed through the UK and Norway, so the data stays fairly local across Europe. Latency is generally low enough that browsing, WhatsApp, and VOIP (including calls) all work fine. We’ve had a lot of customers use WhatsApp voice calls with no issues.

If you're looking at grabbing multiple eSIMs, chat to us at support@team.flexau.com to see if we can do any discounts for you.

      Cheers,
      Ben.

      • Thanks for all the info, I'll be travelling Europe and need low-ish latency to the UK for work. You mention that you route through UK and Norway, If I was in France, Italy and Greece, would these route directly to the UK and breakout there?, and hence be lower latency, or would some/all go via Norway?

        • +1

Hey! Most of the time in France, Italy, and Greece, your data will route through the UK for lower latency. Occasionally it may go via Norway depending on network load, but UK breakout is generally prioritised.

  • What is single use, seems to be a bit higher priced.

    • +1

Hey our single use eSIMs can only be used once, meaning it can't be topped up.
These are our more expensive legacy plans and we are planning to slowly phase them out.

    @Ben-TeamFlex
I was just about to buy a Japan sim for my trip next week, and noticed prices have gone up 50% since last week! Any chance it's going to come back down? If it's staying up I'll have to buy elsewhere.

    • Yea, according to OP's post should still have 4 days left. Was waiting to pull the trigger too.

    • Our network provider has recently increased their costs, which has unfortunately meant we’ve had to adjust our pricing slightly.

That said, we’ve done our best to keep things as competitive as possible, and our plans still offer great value compared to others in the market.

      • +1

Not a good look for a startup to not be able to offer what they've promoted in an opening deal.

Will steer clear for a while to avoid other unexpected surprises until things smooth out.

  • @Ben-TeamFlex - For the China Esim would that extend to use in Hong Kong since it says exit country is Hong Kong? Thanks

  • +1

I'm viewing the Japan 20GB 30 days eSIM and the price displayed on the website is $16.13 - is this USD or AUD? You really need to prefix the price with US$ if it isn't in AUD on a site purportedly aimed at Australian customers… I don't want to check out and realise I've been charged $24 instead.

    • To clarify: the price shown ($16.13) is in USD, and we’ve now updated our website to more clearly show “US$” before all product prices to avoid any confusion, especially for our Aussie customers.

We also mention this on the Ozbargain post and display a notice on our home page.

  • +2

Japan 20GB show as $16.13 on your site.

    while this post description

    Japan – 20GB from US$11.90 (~A$18.43)

    Please fix

  • @Ben-TeamFlex is there any esim covers for US and Canada? Thanks.

  • @Ben-TeamFlex when checking out, I ticked "Create an account" option but after that I don't see any link to go to member area or to set password. When I placed a second order, all my details including payment information are still there (autopopulate). How do I login, or more importantly, how do I log out? Thanks.

    • Hey,

Our Account section is located here:
      https://mobile.flexau.com/my-account/

If you didn’t get a chance to set a password during checkout, I’ll get someone to send you a separate email shortly with a temporary password so you can log in.

This portal is part of our legacy system as we gear up to launch our new app.

      Cheers!

  • Hi Ben

I am going to UK tomorrow, and staying for 2 weeks. What is the best esim to buy from you?
Any discount code? urgent please. I only need 3G data.
    Thank you.

    • Hey @seniordoc

Our best UK plan would be our 3GB 15 Days option.
      https://mobile.flexau.com/product/united-kingdom/

As for a discount code i've personally messaged you.

      Cheers.

      • I got your private message. Thank you.
Can I install on my wife's mobile phone, even I use my credit car to purchase it?
It I purchase it now, is it activated immediately?
        Thanks

        • Hey,

Yes, absolutely even if you purchase using your own card, the eSIM can be installed on your wife’s phone as long as it’s eSIM compatible.

You’ll have 180 days from the date of purchase to install it.

The plan only starts once the eSIM is installed and activated on the phone, so you’re good to buy now and activate later when needed.

          Hope that clears it up!

          Ben.

  • Are the prices in USD or AUD? Contrary to the comment above the prices do not have “US$” before them.

Edit: the terms and conditions say prices are displayed in AUD but when you go to check out Apple Pay indicates the price is USD. Seems super dodgy, has anyone actually used this company?

    • Hey,

All prices on our website are in USD, and on our end they’re displaying correctly across both desktop and mobile.

The Terms & Conditions page was pointing to an older version of our website that hadn’t been updated yet. That’s now been promptly fixed.

We’ve processed over 2800+ eSIM orders from OzBargain with plenty of happy customers. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me personally (ben@team.flexau.com) or our support team we’re always happy to help.

    • The conversions in the post are also confusing:

      Japan – 20GB from US$16.13(~A$18.43)
      Thailand – 20GB from US$11.90 (~A$18.43)

How can two completely different US dollar amounts convert to the same price in AUD ?

      • +1

        Hey,
Thanks for pointing that out! It looks like those AUD conversions were added by the OzBargain mods and may not have calculated correctly. I've gone ahead and updated the post to reflect more accurate pricing. Appreciate you flagging it!

I tried this sim. It's the worst I've ever had when in a foreign country. I don't recommend it. I don't even recommend it if it's free because it's better to just pay for a better one.

    • Hi there,

We’re really sorry to hear about your experience, that’s definitely not the standard we aim to deliver.

If you're open to it, i'd love to know a bit more about what went wrong. Please email me : ben@team.flexau.com

      Cheers!
      Ben

Thanks, was about to buy one. I saw above US routes via Poland so they are slower. The pages for US esims conveniently left this important info out.

Also contact us page says the below:

      High Demand
Our support team are currently experiencing higher then usual demand. Response times may be delayed.

      Going with TravelKon instead https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/908648

      • I also switched to a different provider (roamless) halfway during my trip and it worked great.

  • thanks flexmobile, used a cheap 3gb plan for singapore. set up and use was a breeze, worked great. would def buy again in future, cheers
