        Sorry, GST.

No, I don't think George St. Pierre comes with the tablet.

      Unfortunately…

Yes, their contact number is NSW: (02) 8005 6499

What he meant was would it be possible to make phone calls with the nexus and I do not believe so.

      2 comics and 1 straight guy :-)

    • No phone call, not even SMS. Google have crippled it worse than the early iPhones, and you can't blame the carriers this time.

There are hacks to get SMS and VoIP working, but not mobile calls. Very disappointing. I might have to keep the venerable MyTab a bit longer. Maybe until the Nexus-4 reappears, assuming its not just a hoax.

HI, I've got one of these and regret it. Just be aware of the following.

        • SMS does work, both send and receive with a third party sms app
        • You cannot hotspot tether (cannot share your internet)
        • VOIP running via pennytel and maxotel. I use Media5-fon. It is not reliable because the connection sometimes drops out when roaming between wifi hotspots, 3g, etc.
        • Bluetooth is very buggy. I had to grab a third party app to fix it.
        • No Camera on the rear
        • No HDMI or Mirror cast support unlike the LG Nexus 4.

XDA developers have not been able to get GSM voice calls working on the N7 today.

Other than that, it's got the usual benifits of a tablet. :-P

My Galaxy tab 7 (P1000T) table was (and is in some ways still) a better unit and it cost me $280 (thanks ozbargin) two years ago.

  • "With local agents in Australia" - Imported unit?

    Then eGlobal is cheaper, $306 device + $29 delivery -$10 (CH10 off) = $325 delivered

  • Just make sure you buy with Paypal 'pay later' option from DWI so you can cancel the order if they tell you they're out of stock or one of their other tricks.

  • what's a good recommendation for a tablet at around the $200 mark?

      A Nexus 7
      16 gb Wifi.

This is such an amazing tablet for the money and is worth spending the extra money on compared to other tablets in the 200 dollar bracket. I bought my girlfriend the 32 Gb model for 300 Christmas and she absolutely loves it.

Having said that the 16gb version is 249 from the play store so I am sure you can snatch it for cheaper than that.

      • I second that. I haven't found anything which really provided as good a value statement in the same price range. I was able to pick up the Nexus 7 16Gb for $215 back when Bing Lee had the $30 cash-back promotion with Amex. Hopefully something similar comes up again, or you have some luck haggling.

  • pity you cant use it as a mobile telephone - anyone know of similar that is not crippled phone wise

  • About to pay for the item and it comes up with $14.93 delivery so that comes to total of $343.93 am I missing something here? If not, perhaps add the $14.93 to your title.

  • My Bad! didn't see the standard shipping option! $0 for that!

  • Hi Guys!

    I bought a Nexus 7 32gb for $270 from OW.

Receipt is dated end November 2011 so I guess they should still accept it. I can attach or email the receipt if anyone interested

    • November 2011 or 2012?

      • Where to buy for that price?

      • You're not referring to this are you?

  • Sorry 2012 but My BAD..I just noticed that this is the 3G version. Mine is wifi only. Sorry! :)

  • Bought a 3G Nexus 7 from JB HiFi for $356. I'm glad I had a $50 gift card to use. So far I love the device. Allows me to do everything I need, only had a problem setting up the sim card, but that was Virgin's problem. If you're looking to travel, it's a great and portable size.

  • Bought Nexus 32G 3G from Good Guys for $338 today.

  • I'm going to wait till they do a 64GB Nexus 10 3G. I'm quite sure they will by the end of the year.
