An actual deal from Woolworths. My favourite paper towel, Viva, two rolls for two bucks! That's $1.67/100 sheets, which was a good price a year or two ago.
Viva is great for patting dry meat before frying, no scent and it doesn't stick to the meat. Also handles a rinse and wring out while cleaning the benches or stovetop.
Time to stock up!

How to get 5% off Woolies GC?

          • +1

            @ganjadeals: Here you go

I used RACV when I had roadside assist to get 5% off giftcards, I think it's changed to 4% or 3% depending on the type of giftcard now.

Viva is the worst paper towel !

    • 🤣🤣🤣

    • Could you elaborate? I'm keen to try others if they're better (and a decent price).
Viva is far from the worst paper towel, though.

      • Tuffy 2pack of those massive rolls at woolies has been my favourites to date.

Always cheap per sheet, and very tough

        • and very tough

          Not as tough as Viva

        • Yes I agree, Tuffy is better and stronger. I get it when it's on sale, which seems to be rarely.

I haven't had a problem with Viva sticking and tearing, though, so it's good value for me

      • +2

They almost never tear from where the cut is unless you use both hands and carefully tear 1 sheet apart …kinda too strong at breakage point .they are also little rough to dry face for example …as others mentioned tuffy is much better .at half price viva can also be a pass but would never buy it at full price

Hey now that you mention it, I've noticed the difficulty with tearing off sheets recently. Hate having to use two hands - they're usually dirty if I'm grabbing paper towel.

    • Agree with you here. Too thin and breaks easily. I found Quilton much better

You're just expressing your opinion. Why did you get down voted? Is the forum full of Viva's shareholders? I also reckon Viva is not great quality compared to Tuffy or Aldi's product.

      • does anybody care about downvotes ? :) probably their way of expressing their disagreement with me .easier than typing a message just press the <-> sign

It looks like this is part of their weekly specials, so expiry is next Tuesday 27th May.

      Ah, cheers!

Full disclosure - I'm realising that Viva isn't my favourite paper towel. Maybe 2nd fav. Definitely top 5.
I still consider rhis a good deal :)

    • What paper towels are better?

      • Tuffy. Made by Quilton, sold at WWs.

  • Don't live near a Safeway, so looking for an Amazon price match.

    • +2

wow safeway… tell me you're old without telling me you're old

    • +1

Lol @ refusing it to call it Woolworths

    • +1

Did you just get out of prison?

  • +1

Just checked what we are currently using - found Tuffy - Made by Quilton - the best TP for donkeys ?

    googled - https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/785317 - Tuffy 2.2c/sheet

compared to today's Viva deal of 1.67c/sheet

OMG - how much time should I spend in seeking to save 2.20-1.67 = 0.53c/sheet ?

    I think I've already spent it !

I may check out the other suggestion - Aldi - next time we run out …

  • Went to buy this but saw https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/156865/ica… at $1/100 sheets instead, cheaper.

    • Ah, that pricing is deceptive. The "select a size" have more sheets (100) because the sheets are smaller. Same length on the roll, equivalent to 60 standard sheets.
A buck per roll is okay, makes it the same as this Viva deal. Might not be as strong or absorbent.

      • Wow, that’s very dodgy.
