Good price, however that motherboard only has 1 SSD M.2 storage slot and doesnt allow PBO if you want to undervolt the CPU. It also cannot run high power chips without overheating which indicates poorer VRM design and may limit potential future upgrades. I would get a slightly more expensive model perhaps from centrecom with $10 discount atm. I'm personally getting https://www.centrecom.com.au/msi-pro-b650m-a-wifi-am5-matx-d… but you can get MSI gaming for $160
It's capable for default but it is actually A620 because its BIOS doesn't support functions for B650 chipset, which means CPU overclocking is not available. 7700 has some overclocking potential so it will be some loss using this mobo. However, the price has been dropped so it can be considered as a choice if your budget is quite limited. If you play FPS games or other CPU bottlenecked games, don't buy this mobo.
Some things to watch out on that low end Gigabyte board:
- The included WiFi is WiFi 5 with Bluetooth 4.2. It looks like you can replace it, but you need to buy an Intel AX210 (WiFi 6E) and with the extra cost, you might as well get a better board.
- Board lottery, it could be rev 1.0, 1.1 or 1.2. Revision 1.0 has inferior memory frequency support compared to 1.1 and 1.2.
- Single m.2 NVMe SSD slot (so if you want more SSDs, then it is basically SATA or add-on card through PCIe gen 3 x1 slot, but NVMe x1 mode isn't ideal and once again add-on card costs $$$).
- Zero USB 3.2 gen 2 port
Should I upgrade if I have 7500F?
Do not upgrade anything unless you're very dissatisfied with your current set up. 7700 is not way better than 7500F
it wont offer much of a noticeable change
How much can you get if you sell your 7500F? If the price difference (after selling your 7500F) is little, you could consider (mainly to stop you from keep thinking about it). This is not all time low price for 7700 though.
RYZEN 5 7500F vs RYZEN 7 7700 | Test in 12 Games | 1080p & 1440p: that was tested with 4070Ti, so if you have inferior GPU, the performance difference will be even smaller.
Can I choose only Aliexpress shipping?
Yes, default shipping is fine

Did your CPUs get transferred to a company called Morning Global? Mine was tracking fine until these guys got it now no updates for 4 days.. first time I've had them delivering an item through AliExpress..
Same
@zachhambo: I emailed morning global and they gave me an Australia Post tracking number but still says pending
Yep. We are all in the same 'poetal boat.
Weird, usually my topcashback tracks instantly (Bought a PC case yesterday) but the cpu haven’t tracked yet. Anyone have similar issues?
Same. No tracking yet for my order from the 12th. Topcashback does state it wont track until you co firm you go it as aliexpress
same here and no tracking info yet.
I submitted a tracking request with topcashback. I recommend everyone does it too.
it shows up pending in my account now.
does anyone know if this come with the stock cooler or i have to get one myself separately? thnx!
These don't come with the stock cooler. They're simply packed in clear plastic as shown in the various pictures posted in the customer reviews.
any good and bang for bucks cooler for this? i'm currently on i7-7700 and thinking if i should spend more to change to AMD 5 or stick to AMD 4 socket so i can save money on the rams. ATM, using the pc to play light games with RTX 3070 ti. Any suggestion? thanks!
People tend to recommend Thermalright air coolers for their unbeatable price to performance ratio, specifically their Peerless Assassin and Phantom Spirit range which are mostly all under $60 currently on Amazon. I personally picked the Phantom Spirit 120 for my latest build and it's fantastic.
@gtazn: Is it noisy when under light workload such as browsing internet? I need something very quote for office work at office. Mainly do light workloads
@JURBA: I haven't really noticed much noise from it under light workload, but if your only use is office work, dual tower coolers like the Peerless Assassin and Phantom Spirit are overkill. A cheaper single tower cooler with 1 fan should be quieter and more than adequate in regard to cooling an office PC.
Two options, Great performance. great fans

what b650/m/mini motherboard is budget but can be upgraded to the highest 9000 series cpu and handle it without throttling at 100% workload etc (i won't be overclocking). for under $240. i'm building our office some pc's using the ryzen 7 7700

awesome yea thats the one i decided on last night. i signed up to centrecom premium cause i'm building 8x office pc's using the ryzen 7 7700. getting for around $209 inc shipping (with cenrecom premium i save extra $10 on this specific case). Asus TUF GAMING B650M-E WIFI seemed to have the least amount of motherboard issues from purchaser reviews. Was between that and MSI MAG B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI, but when i searched for problems with that motherboard it had more. Couldnt find many problems with tuf. And because for officework it needs to be super reliable, cant cheap out and deal with problems, cause problems= downtime= money loss
Asus TUF GAMING B650M-E WIFI is a newer board. Whatever issues they had on the Asus TUF GAMING B650M Plus WIFI ( the first version to come out ) they fixed on the Asus TUF GAMING B650M-E WIFI so its more reliable.
The B850M boards are even newer and more stable but they are bad value at the moment and with the latest bio's upgrading more high end B650 boards to PCIe 5.0 on the graphics slot there is little difference between a B650 and B850… the silicon chip set is identical in every way anyways just renamed
May I know where it listed that the GPU slot runs at 5.0 speeds with latest bios update?
Haven's seen any information on that in the bios patches.I'm torn between Aorus Elite AX and this mobo. I checked it's available in the computer alliance but I confirmed with the store that the one they have on hand is revision 1.3.
One of the comments in reddit mentioned that 1.3 model does not support pcie 5.0 (first comment on top)
https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/1eeob19/amdbased_micro…I checked the Gigabyte website and sure enough, the 1.3 revision does not mention anything about PCIE 5.0 ready. Version 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 is all PCIE 5.0 ready:
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650M-AORUS-ELITE-AX-re…https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650M-AORUS-ELITE-AX-re…
If you scroll down on the breakdown, on the VRM labels, that's where you can see if it's 5.0 ready or not.
Since I am not sure, if you can confirm that the Asus B650M-E has Pcie5.0, I will purchase that for my mobo.
Thank you kind sir!
AMD does not allow adverting of B650 AM5 motherboards adding support for PCIe 5.0
Any B650 board that is capable is silently getting support for it.My Gigabyte B650m Aorus Elite Ice officially does not support PCIe 5.0 but the latest bios update now allows to you enable PCIe 5.0 in the bios. Many people have tested and it is 100% PCIe 5.0 on the GPU socket.
This was always an artificial segregation AMD implemented to sell the exact same chipset "B650" as two separate products X670 and the X670E that is again the exact same silicon chip as the B650 just 2 of them side by side on the same motherboard.
100% marketing sales BS. Also there are B650 boards that support PCIe 5.0 advertised on the box that came out just before X870 and B850 that is again just renamed B650 silicon.. NO CHANGE AT ALL
I've seen a few reedit posts of people who have updated the bios on their Asus TUF GAMING B650M-E WIFI and now have support to change their GPU slot from PCIe 4.0 to PCIe 5.0 to run with their new RTX5070Ti GPU
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4j6HlLAWl_E
ALSO worth noting is that an RTX5090 doesnt even come close to using all of PCIe 4.0 bandwidth let alone 5.0 so its not really important and 4.0 should be usable for at least another 4 years. More so if the GPU your using isnt a RTX5090
@vid_ghost: Thank you for the confirmation. That's very helpful!
Now on to making the decision. The hard part hahaha.
I've seen some users have issues with booting on their B650M gigabyte aorus elite ax, whereas Asus one doesn't seem to have any issues. however, it might already fixed in future revisions. question is 6E vs 6 and 12 phase vs 8 phase.
Tough decisions, tough decisions….@dystopiachoa: If you plan on upgrading to Zen6 when it comes out at the end of 2026 i would get the gigabyte… It would work better with the 24 core dual chiplet or maybe the 12 core single chiplet Zen6 CPU's.. all depends how much power AMD pushes into them.
The main difference between Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E is the inclusion of the 6 GHz band in Wi-Fi 6E. Wi-Fi 6E extends the capabilities of Wi-Fi 6 by utilizing this new, less congested band, resulting in faster speeds and lower latency for compatible devices
More phases generally mean a more stable power delivery, better overclocking potential, and potentially lower temperatures.
I have the gigabyte B650M Aorus ice.. Its a great motherboard zero issues fast boot times and good updating/RGB lighting software
@dextertheboygenius: Yeah, I was about to purchase the ICE version but the Hardware unboxed video shows that the temps is a bit higher compared to the black, so I went with the black one. Kinda regretting it now that I checked the ICE version has less issues, and is prettier but it is what it is. I'm also planning for an all black build, but the ICE contrast might be enticing too!
@dystopiachoa: FYI .. thats 100% inline with margin of error.. The black board he had may have been newer with fresher thermal pads… or it was built better at the time in the factory…
I've seen B850 boards with less VRMs have lower temps then x870 board with more.. its variable
@vid_ghost: Ahhh I see. Fortunately was able to cancel and reoder the ICE model. Now just waiting for the CPU to arrive to finally start building my PC!
@dystopiachoa: Yep, the ice board is a newer updated model with the exact same specs as the black board. But i think the black board has a V3 version now anyways so its all same, same.
@vid_ghost: Yeah, that's true. I've confirmed before purchasing the black model from the retailer that the Black model they have on hand is 1.3.
Thought it might be useful to someone who read this in the future.

Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite gives you more But thats $60 is a big jump up for better VRM and Wifi 6E vs Wifi 6Im not limited to mATX, as im replacing a board in a ATX case, but seems there isnt really any good deals on ATX size boards? WIFI does not really mean anything to me, ill be running 2.5G wired LAN.
@JustHereForTheBanter: This is a good ATX deal
https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/motherboards/amd-socket-…Or this for $10 more after coupon
https://www.centrecom.com.au/gigabyte-b650-aorus-elite-ax-v2…@JustHereForTheBanter: I am not sure if the ASRock B850M Pro-A WiFi Motherboard is worth considering. I haven't found any reviews for it.
It's an extra $40-$50 on the Asus TUF Gaming B650M-E. But has 3 M.2 sockets (1 is PCI-E 5 x4 and the other 2 are PCI-E 4 x4…however 1 is shared with the PCI-E 4 x 4) and PCI-E 5 on the x16 slot.

On to the next speed bump. See how long it takes to clear customs. Thought it would have cleared quicker than this :/
whats a good maxt case to go with the ryzen 7 7700 that has usbc front i/o
Lian Li x Dan Case A3 - Looks good with amazing cooling - No limit on hardware it can handle .. Comes in white, black and wood or no wood front panel.. also for $25 extra you can buy the glass side panel.
Jonsbo TK-1 Micro Tower mATX Case - Looks amazing but cooling could be better. Max 64W CPU and Max 200w GPU … would not recommend anything more. Max GPU size 281cm
Lian Li x Dan Case A3 in black makes for a good office PC but you need to still buy fans and a PSU so its not the best value.
Thanks for the research man ^^)
I have both those cases in my home PC's. I've also made an office PC out of a completely black Dan A3. looks good. I just put two cheap PWM motherboard controlled intake fans at the bottom and thats it. (I'm the IT guy for my work and upgrade the computers when needed) The ITX builds I'm able to fit in my backpack and take into the office on the train. Shame itx boards are so expensive.
There are not many "CHEAP" cases that come with USB-C on the front panels :).. kinda strange because its not a new feature anymore. maybe its expensive to implement.
@vid_ghost: our office currently have 7050 sff optiplexes which run at around 30cm long. because they are placed back to back (two people sharing desk) i can't run a case too long e.g more than 35/40cm. heigh doesnt matter because they are on the floor.
my first choice was the $50 Aerocool CS-109. but it has no usbc front panel input and i'm not sure about the thermals. Im wondering if it is cheap and easy to cut out and install your own diy usb 3.2 gen 1 or 2, port in the front or top of the case?
im currently looking in the $80 price range, Cooler Master Q300L V2 right now, but it has really bad thermals and i'd have to modify it and cut some holes in the front panel to let more air in.. not sure if i can be bothered.. other one i'm looking at now is the Antec NX500M..
i'd love to get the jonsbo z20, it looks wellbuilt and portable.. but they're about $119 and out of stock right now, and alott out of my price range.
everything i buy i have to X by 8, so a $30 price increase is equal to an extra $240 total cost. so i'm trying to work it out ><D
jonsbo c6 has bad thermals hard to work with.
jonsbo c6 max abit easier to work with but still not great thermals.
lian li a3 $100 very nice, but too long.
Jonsbo D32 PRO $90 getting expensive for me.
Jonsbo D32 STD $80 not bad, not much usb ports though and out of stock,
@JURBA: I think you maybe best to just get a cheap small matx case ( whatever fits the size your after ) and get an extension cable from the rear USB-C 10gbps port on the motherboard rear back panel.
Two options would be
1x USB-C hub $15 on amazon
1x USB-C Extension cable ( male to female ) $10 on amazonOR
1x USB-C Extension cable ( male to female ) $10 on amazonThat way you can just plug it into the rear usb-c port on the motherboard back panel and have the cable near the keyboard. ready to connect whatever.
@vid_ghost: thats a really great idea! thanks vid ><D i'll do that.. get the cheap case and run a usbc extension male to female!! your a legend!!! just saved me a ton. I'll get the $50 Aerocool CS-109 and do that ^^)
@JURBA: Yep.. :) pretty simple. just make sure the USB-C extension cable is long enough to go from the rear of the PC case to the keyboard. If its only just long enough you may need some type of way to stick it to the desk blue tack or sticky tape maybe otherwise it will slip back down the desk cable management cutout hole :)
Thanks OP, grabbed another one.. I don't know what I'll do with it let alone the other one i ordered haha
Anyways unlike the previous order this one tracked right away with top cashbackAliExpress 25 May 2025 $188.58 $18.86 pending
Nice, got it just before price went up! Now I have to be patient, hopefully these ones don't get held up as long.
Its still showing up as AU$203.59 AU$509.8460% off when i click on the link. (when on AUD currency)
Huh it went back down again, was $170USD just before
Will you be getting two more Gigabyte Elite AX ATX or mATX boards? They have good m.2/NVMe slots (both to CPU lanes) and still give you a x4 slot, but really hoping to spend less. Hard to find any sub $200 boards which don't cut so many corners and have somewhat passable VRM.
im making 8x office computers.. im wondering, can anyone tell me if this is a reliable safe power supply? im not putting in any graphics card, and need something reliable for around $85… I cant find this on the psu tier list so idk if it can be trusted or not….
Toughpower 550W Gold (Modular)
PS-TPD-0550MPCGcan find it on amazon.au
I think this one is good. Your getting a $109 PSU for $79 (They have a sale on at the moment). Thermaltake PSU's are great. Better then coolermaster. The one you listed on amazon is the 6 year old model of that TT PSU even their logo has changes from whats pictured. Avoid it.
This is the one you want.

The next Toughpower on that list is 80 Bronze.
Mwave has free delivery on orders over $250
Thanks man!!! saved the rigs i'm trying to build!!! i guess they say never to cheap out on the power supply ><D.. really appreciate it!!! could have ended really badly for me.. guess i gotta get rid of the one i bought now ><P awell
What did you buy? Amazon lets you cancel the order.. also cheap power supplies can work fine for years. Its just a luck of the draw… for me the fans always start to fail before the PSU does. :).
@vid_ghost: i already have received 1x
Toughpower 550W Gold (Modular)
PS-TPD-0550MPCG
from amazon. i looked at high review only. didnt research the psu quality though my mistake. also i just realised there are not many of the commented reviews for the 550watt.
Im don't mind paying upto $100 for good super reliable psu now that i've saved a bunch on the case@JURBA: If the toughpower you got from amazon looks like the newer one from mwave you should be fine to keep it. Sometimes amazon has incorrect images for products.
Purchased last night thanks op.
I'm going to pair it with a 5070 ti for 4k. Hopefully all good. Videos (tech yes city for example) say it's pretty much the same compared to a higher end CPU at 4k in a majority of games with a 5070 Ti, hopefully I have the same experience.
If you're not upscaling then yes should be the same.
anyone know what are some quite cheap case fans in sizes 120mm and 140mm? total 8x 120mm quite case fans, and 8x 140mm case fans.. im building 8x office pc's
Amazon has some cheap fans. you want to search for - case fans pwm .. the ones that dont do motherboard control (pwm) may have old molex connections. :) cheap nasty
These look ok for the price.
https://www.amazon.com.au/Thermalright-TL-C12W-S-Connector-C…Yea I definitely want pwm. I settled on the Antec nx200 case for $50 which comes with a rear 120mm fan but it's not pwm. And front case has space for either 2x120mm or 2x140mm. Not sure what combo I should run, I'm mainly doing light workloads eg using internet work and Excell and pdf. I was thinking because I'll be using a CPU fan cooler, to have a rear 120mm and a single front 140mm, or could I get away with only the rear 120mm and no front fan?
Back again!
what are the odds of this cpu getting cheaper deals/price before EOF?
previously deals had it drop to $140 USD.
Who knows maybe a few dollars, it's already an insane price, higher cashback might be more likely. Seems like price went up again
The Ryzen 7700 is a $480 CPU when purchased from Aussie retailer… although you do get a heat sink and warranty with it.
Both are really not needed especially when paying more then double the price.I would get this now and hold onto it.. I dont think we will ever see a $230 price for this at Aussie retail store until maybe after Zen6 comes out at the end of 2026 start of 2027
PS6 and the next xbox will be releasing around this time too
Has anyone here actually bought and received this from this store.
See first page of comments
I got mine today.. ordered 12th :)
Same here 😆
Welp, looks like the next batch is going to take just as long :(
Anyone else awaiting flight for their tracking?
Yep, same as last deal unfortunately.
Has updated to packing leaving origin country woo. Hopefully here by the end of the week but that's being optimistic
Rip, package went from melbourne to brisbane and I'm in NSW
@zachhambo: I did not get one. All I had was the AliExpress tracking to go by which ends in MG and was never sent an auspost tracking number.
Also everything is working great! Running -20 on curve optimiser, no issues so far.
Bought one. Thanks OP.
