Free Google One with 15 Months AI Pro (Gemini Pro, NotebookLM + VEO Video Generation) @ Google US (VPN & Edu Email Required)

5110

Hello Ozbargainers ! I found this awesome way to get 15 months of Google Gemini Pro for FREE, You probably need to use a VPN and create a US google account or try which one is eligible for you , my VPN was on throughout the whole process and only 1 out of 3 emails worked for me.

you need an education email to verify your student status, I used a temporary student email service https://tempumail.com and you generate a temporary email that you can use it once only to verify your student status. you need to use a valid credit card as well for google so don't forget to cancel after 15 months.

Enjoy!

Prep for your exams, perfect your writing, and tackle your homework with a free upgrade to the Google AI Pro plan giving you more access to Gemini App and NotebookLM. Plus 2TB of free storage. Available in select countries only. Sign up by June 30, 2025. Then £18.99/month.

    • Just tried 6th account in Brazil with Brazil VPN # ph#.

This time didn't say I am ineligible until I entered my bloody payment details!!

    • what age are you putting. When I put in my real dob it didnt work. when i put it as being 22 years old it did.

      • I tried 18 & 20

        • +1

Followed Jesuswepts guide. Worked perfectly. Used incognito on Firefox on phone

          • @belongsinforums: Just tried again on a complete different device, different browser, different VPN, brand new USA google account with USA Phone number, as soon as I added the ZIP Pay one off card and clicked sign up, it span indefinitely, reloaded and got the "Not eligible for AI Pro plan:…

            • @retainer: When you entered your payment details did you enter a US zip code or Australian post code?

              • @xers: My Aus post code
Ah that's where I am stuffing up then…

                • +1

@retainer: Yes that is very important as that is what determines which region your account is.

                  • +1

@xers: haha thanks mate, that worked finally!

            • @retainer: Try refreshing on the last page

    • I created an account on the PC, used a free VPN to connect to Japan, tempu to create an edu address, a vanilla gift card with $2.40 left on it as payment, and it took less time than it has to type this up. Cancelled subscription right away, valid to AUG26.
Veo3 for those who were asking who gets what

      • Yes. Just make sure you choose veo 3 in settings in flow

  • Had some problems with verifying student email but keep generating new one until it worked.

    • Keep generating… sounds like a handy tool

  • Worked a charme!

  • thanks OP! Got Gemini Pro with PureVPN (US) + AU mobile and credit card + tempedu. Valid until Aug 2026

  • I can't get past validation of my credit card…

    • Get a wise digital debit card.

      • Thank you, that worked

  • Did it with a new account + phone number. After putting in phone number and it says you're not eligible, you can still manually verify via thar google ai student offer page.

And then I did it with one of my normal google accoutns, without signing out. VPN on though.. vanilla card, 90210. the main thing is that your account can't already have google one subscription. Just manually verify via the student offer page

  • I created a aws vps us based didn't used vpn. Tested on 2 already existing gmail account as OP posted and it worked straight way 😊.

These accounts never had payment method added

  • Can't get it to work.

    VPN to US
Sign up with a new Gmail, tried 2 different AUS number for OTP and both says "account isn't eligible for Google AI Pro Plan", tried making another account but can't re-use the same number. Any way of getting around this?

  • You’re near your usage limit. Learn more. ouch!!

    Anyone else get kicked out?

Signed up with AU Gmail with payment set to US only, joined family of different Gmail that signed up to above offer.

Was successful joining the family but then got this email overnight and access gone on the AU Gmail, i.e. removed from family sharing.

"It looks like there’s a problem with your family group. It may take some time before you can use it again.

For now, you can no longer access Google products and services that need a family group to work"

    • Same here.

      • Was your situation the same? AU Gmail with US payment profile?

One potential issue is my AU Gmail was already on a Pro trial (ending mid June) before joining the family, so maybe that created a conflict.

  • Although we don’t know the details of re-verifying student enrolment again in August, my guess is that it’s just the email check again.

Keep in mind that the US academic uni year starts in late August or early/mid September for all universities (and ends in May/June). I think this is the purpose of the re-verification (i.e., to check the student is a student for the 25-26 academic year).

    • Google can check through their big data if they want due to large number of registrations, or they pretend not to care and take it as a head up promotion.

  • Thanks Op.

  • Just managed to subscribe with my Edu account from HongKong.
here is how I work it out:

    0) use VPN to US
    1) create a google account with the edu email
    2) use a fake US address
    3) use AU Phone number +61- is ok, play safe, don't use one which is registered
    4) credit card I use a debit card created in zeller in AU.
    5) haven't added my own email yet. guess as previous comment mentioned, needa add US payment profile and delete AU payment profile before adding. (24Hr waiting time)

  • when entering my credit card details i got charge firstly AUD0.00 and then AUD1.56. why is that? i will keep monitoring it as it is pending at the moment.

by the way it worked and i got Google One in the end but just got charged a small amount onto my credit card.

    • The 2nd account used another card. No charge this time.

      Strange :D

  • +1

This is incredible, thank you OP. I followed instructions from jesuswept and it worked first go 👏
Can this be entered into some sort of OzBargain deal of the year award? 🏆

Some notes to help ensure it'll work first go:
    * I got the "not eligible" message after creating my US account; like others said, I waited a minute, hit refresh, then I could continue
    * I used my Aus phone number used on my main google account for OTP; worked fine
    * Paypal won't work; use a credit/debit card. Can be AUS card
    * At the payment info, put in a US zip code not an Aus zip code

  • Can someone kindly confirm if they see the free subscription details on their account after signing up? I successfully signed up, but when I check my account, it doesn’t mention the 15 months free offer — it only shows the billing amount for next month. Is this the same for everyone?

By the way, thank you OP for sharing!

=== All good, found it. can check payments and subcriptions at google play.
If you cant find it via desktop browser, just try to click cancel, and follow screen instruction and you will see it.

  • used VPN, created us gmail, signed up, doesn't ask for edu email or credit card or address and says Pro next to my profile. What am I doing right/wrong?

    • Did you have to enter a AU number upon creating the US Gmail account?

  • For those who subsribed to this for the 2TB google drive storage, what'a your plan after 15 months?

    • To get access my 2TB files permanent via sharing to my main 15 GB google account 😋

      • Thank you for the enlightenment!

Are the files considered "permanent" after the 15 month mark, though cannot upload further but the content can still be accessed?

Another dumb question…I believe sharing to main google account is like sharing a google photo folder but instead you put "everything" in a folder and share it that way?

  • "You’ve reached your video generation limit" (Veo 3)

I tested 2 videos, then tried another 2. Those 2 failed because of copyright or something. The limit said will be lifted May 30, then June 3 now June 9. Keeps getting bumped. What gives?

  • +1

Has anyone created a family group to share the Gemini AI Pro access to other family members?
    Anything to look out for?

    1. Use US VPN.
    2. Phone number can be any even Australian (use your spouse, nephew, aunt whatever if yours says 'used too many times')
    3. Payment method can be revolut or wise card. Put the postcode/address as any US one (Don't put Australian otherwise you will be rejected)
  • +4

I have figured out how to add the account to google family.

Pre condition: Add a gmail email to your edu account so you dont have to keep using tempmail, and family invites go to your gmail.

    1. Add your EDU gmail account to your google play on your phone.
    2. Once added and the account selected at the top right, tap the profile icon.
    3. Tap Settings and then General and then Account and device preferences and then Country and profiles.
    4. Tap the country where you want to add an account. Add australia and add australian payment method.
    5. You should now have 2 country profiles.

Proceed to invite that account to your australian family to enjoy the benefits. Remember to check your gmail (or tempmail) for invite.

    • @moleskiI dont understand what you mean my the pre-condition? I have created a new gmail and then used the tempmail account to verfiy during signup to confirm eligibility - I dont think I have to ever use the tempmail account again?

      • +1

Its not a mandatory step, more to assist without the need to use tempmail to access emails.

    • Forgot to mention, in order to share the 2TB with family:

-Go to your temp EDU account's "Google One"
-Under family Sharing enable family sharing for your 2TB
      - If done succesfully your other gmail accounts in the family should recieve an email saying 'welcome to google one'

    • @moleski what do you refer by EDU gmail account ?

      • The Gmail account you create to link to the edu tempmail account. It acts as your edu account but lives in Gmail. You can use that with all the google services.

    • How do I share the Gemini AI benefits to my family group? I have connected the US Google account to my family group in Australia, but I don't see any Gemini Pro benefits on my Australian Google account.

      • You have to share the 2TB with your family from the gemini pro account (EDU acc) when I did that, the storage and gemini pro was shared across the family group

  • finally got it to work.
it was either reducing my age to 21, or the brand new phone number.

  • I know this is an old post now but there is a way past the mobile verification part. It requires your phone (Android) (Could work on iOS not sure).

    • Go to Google Play Store and look for any US VPN (Any will do)
    • Then connect to the VPN (For me I used New York).
    • Go to Settings on your phone and find the part that let's you add a Google Account
    • Create the account while your VPN remains connected to a US IP (This will trick Google into thinking you're creating your account over there).
    • Once that's done open the trial page found on this post OR click this: https://gemini.google/students/?hl=en - BE SURE TO STAY ON THE VPN
    • You should be able to claim the 15 months.

Enjoy. Going through this method gets you around the phone verification.

    • Tried this with 3 accounts - does bypass phone and address verification but received 'not eligible' error using ProtonVPN (Japan) with both, English and Japanese link.

  • Did they reduce the number of veo 3 video generating down to three? I remember it can generate more than 3 videos when this deal first launch. I did use pure vpn to US.

    • Use flow for Veo 3

  • any one had any luck trying this recently?
there is no more verify student button on the promo page, i tried a few time, no payment required or anything at all, it just automatically give me 1 month free trail, the plan status shows bill monthy.
I used VPN + brand new phone number.

  • +1

Still working - but used a Japan VPN to make a new account as couldn't get it to work via US despite multiple attempts (not eligible error), don't need to worry about postcodes as it just autofills as 'Japan address', used AU number for initial verification, Up debit card for payment (they do a 100yen authorisation so make sure it has money)

    • Yeah US wasn’t working for me anymore. Will try through Japan later and fingers crossed

    • Couldn't get this to work still :( "not eligible"
Using JP link, address and AU mobile number

  • Google allowed me to add a second payment address, confirmed it goes by your payment address and VPN location

  • Didn't get through this one! 😭

  • +2

Just created an account and got it working.

Confirmed still working using instructions from jesuswept earlier in the comments, but used Japan link instead of US
Used nordvpn to connect to Japan
Used AU mobile to get OTP
Initially after new gmail was created, it showed that account was ineligible for the trial, but refreshing the page at that point then fixed this and could follow the rest of the instructions
For payment details, I added a Revolut card, failed a few times cause I didn't have enough $$ in the account, put a few dollars in and it got through fine after that, cause it tries to charge 100yen to verify the card, which I assume it will refund afterwards

Hope this will help others! Last day to sign up, wasn't intending to leave it last day, but glad it worked.

    • Thanks friend!

    • +1

just did the exact same and working with japanese link

  • Clicked on the "Get Offer" button from OP's link using a US google account and it signed me up without any payment/student verification/phone number prompts.

Can't find anywhere to verify student status after subscribing so I'm not sure if I've managed to get this student deal or not, fingers crossed I guess.

    • same here…

      • Also can't see anything about subscription end date in manage subscription or clicking cancel subscription.

All we can do I guess is set a reminder for the end of the month and see if there's a charge for next month.

  • Does it include YouTube premium?
    The ads driving me nuts

    • Nope

  • Thanks OP, works for me using a revolut card with zip code 90210.

I'm like telling the guy at the service station about this deal, and he's like:

"I'm not really into the ai thing, then I show him the deal and he's like I can do it at home on my server"

I thought dude, you can do all that you described in your computer and still not be legit.

I end up buying something leaving saying to him, you can do it the hard way or the hard way, because I know some Indian dude would scoop that deal up.

The youth today are strange, maybe it's ai's fault 😆🤣 well the way things are going maybe.

Gemini states you must go to subscription to see the date, it's the same as game pass ultimate.

    But important information:

The "September 2026" date you might be seeing could be:

A slight rounding or approximation in a display, as "finals 2026" usually means the end of the academic year (June 30).

A reminder for a re-verification step that occurs around August/September 2025 for continuing access into the second part of the free period

    • telling the guy at the service station about this deal

      Uhhhh 🤔

  • Gemini, how to get Pro for free?

  • I know it's already expired but still interested - what can this do that I can't do from the other free AI stuff that I use like ChatGPT, etc?

I use it to write scripts like Python, 'M' code for Excel/Power Query, JavaScript, etc for work and home.

Even had it help make mods/packs for Minecraft for my son.

Not sure what the benefit would be over the extra storage…??? Just interested… is it all the video/generative art stuff, as I don't care about that.

  • Just a heads up the deal is still available if your VPN is set somewhere on the West Coast, as the deal ends 30 June Pacific time.

    • Tried with 2 different emails but keep getting. "This offer is not available" Trying it on android with VPN Set to California. Do you reckon i might be doing something wrong?

      • +1

Have you tried it on your computer browser? The redemption steps on google support are:

        Redemption process:

On your computer, open the browser.
        Go to Google One.
        Click Verify student status.
        Follow the on-screen instructions.
Review the new membership price and payment date.
To confirm your Google AI Pro membership, select your payment method.

Without VPN I get "Our student offer is on summer break" but with VPN I get the regular offer redemption page.

        • +1

Still no luck. Maybe my luck has run out lmao. Thank you for the help tho :)

This message is not to discredit or make people feel it's a terrible deal, but to be aware.

Sheer id will verify your tempu email randomly, so unless you know it, you'll need to provide id to extend it(but even then based on the comments it's anyone's guess until August 31st)

It's 2 months enjoy it, however I think Amazons 3 month prime deals better with Mac donalds monopoly, at least you know.

Is 32.95 worth it for Gemini, the answers perplexing, unless Google YouTube premium is included it's still perplexing as it's not.

It's a polarising deal, but with your educational costs it's better than nothing, but overall is it worth it the answers hard:

30.000 inputs for pdf, video scanning at 10, it's very generous at giving it data(bit ironic) but at 4096 tokens capp you're looking at limitations on output code, and it's not limited to just Google, while true models like deep seek can take higher tokens and it did back in October it would output 128.000, then 64.000 now much lower due to it's popularity it dropped off a cliff.

Llm notebook is already free, so I can see where a university student or educator would benefit from it, dump a corpus of material, narrow down critical parts, add a analysis report, have it narrated and debriefed while going for a jog(but you can access it for free)the only part is video generation you get 3 video generations in Gemini, and with Gemini video flow it's 1000 credits 10 credits = 8 second watermarked bro video fast gen, or 20 credits = 8 second with sound effects, same with veo 3, the veo 3 that's 100 credits with sound at high quality with water mark that's 10 generations for the entire month that's 112 seconds for 8 seconds videos at high quality at 1000 credits, and at 10 credits it's 100 video generations at 8 seconds.

The real seller is Google flows scene builder, this is where openai sora fails, the scene builder allows you to take a frame from your video and extend it, you could say man walking, then extend man crying, it's probably the big seller and with 10 credits you could create something but you're playing with luck as you need a story board planned out as it costs money obviously, but I didn't get any lag, the generation was slightly long regardless of veo 2 or 3, about 3 minutes.

And finally whisk, this is image generation but it's really confusing, spending less then 5 minutes with it.

    Like I said it's a polarising deal.

So paying 32.95 isn't with it, Xbox game pass is worth it(because it's imminent, sharable, streamable, you know what you're buying, and can get yearly specials)

Don't get me wrong Gemini pro 2.5 is great, but unless it's agentic where it builds apon what you give it like curser AI it's just not there yet, it's definitely a university students dream not so if developer or artist.

So yeah get it, try it out but be dam sure you need to redeem it, let's say you need a book written those 1 million tokens might not end up generating a long format book, where as deep seek would generation over 8000 output tokens about 64000 words, but it varies so much.

Regardless it's good until August, I'm using it for video articulation, I drop 10 videos and use a macro to select 10 videos load it in, then delete, uploading about 280 videos, the feedback I got was helpful, looking for temporal consistency.

But the two months is generous to make a informed decision, however using a bank card could classify as redeemed unless they do that thing where you can sign up to deals every so often for future attempts.

  • My account is no longer available? I guess they picked up on the ‘scam’?!

    • No issues here

    • I only got around to adding mine to my family account to share the 2TB and its all working fine
