Free Google One with 15 Months AI Pro (Gemini Pro, NotebookLM + VEO Video Generation) @ Google US (VPN & Edu Email Required)

4210

Hello Ozbargainers ! I found this awesome way to get 15 months of Google Gemini Pro for FREE, You probably need to use a VPN and create a US google account or try which one is eligible for you , my VPN was on throughout the whole process and only 1 out of 3 emails worked for me.

you need an education email to verify your student status, I used a temporary student email service https://tempumail.com and you generate a temporary email that you can use it once only to verify your student status. you need to use a valid credit card as well for google so don't forget to cancel after 15 months.

Enjoy!

Thanks already did it with US email. Just checking if it is working with Aus email.

  • +1

Do I only need a VPN when registering, or do I need to connect to the VPN every time I use it?

  • -6

I got Free 6 months free Gemini pro from Samsung phone promotion, I now know why it's free, beside the 2TB storage, after 6months and the monthly or yearly cost is way too expensive for what you get. The free version of ChatGPT is way better than Gemini pro.

  • Sweet. I got it. Thanks OP!

  • +2

clickon link and it was i have pro now. however, it did not ask me to verify stent details? how to find out 15months?

    • Same here.

  • Worked like a charm using proton free vpn, initially got a response as not eligible after account was Created. Hit refresh twice and allowed me to subscrib.
Revoult virtual card is great too.

  • Thank you OP.
I just signed up by following all these steps:

    1. Turn on NordVPN
    2. Open Chrome Incognito
    3. Signed up to US Google account
    4. Used an Australian phone number
    5. Used the link from the deal above to signup for Google AI Pro.

Funny enough, it didn't ask me for my student email or to verify my status, but now I've got Google AI Pro. I even generated a video (using Veo 3) to test.

I haven't even placed my credit card details or anything yet, so am a little bit lost.

    • Same. So I don't know how long we get to keep for

  • Looks good thank you

  • What's the easiest and cheapest way to get another AU phone number?

    • Buy a cheap sim.

  • +1

Thanks OP! Luckily my household has like a dozen burner Google accounts for various mobile game accounts. I tried around 5 accounts and managed to find 3 eligible for Gemini Pro. All signed up in a few mins. Whole household is now is caked up with AI lol

  • +2

Worked with my Japanese account lol.

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

Signed up using an existing google account (Australian). I just opened the link in a fresh LibreWolf window and used my (Australian) Bank card that was already tied to my account(s).

It did ask for a student email and a ZIP code, so I just used the temp email per OP, and 90210 for the ZIP.
I have a feeling Alphabet/Google devs are going to be locking this down fairly soon. lol.

edit to add: For the payment method, I just cancelled the renewal and removed the card. Got a "Thanks, your subscription won't renew, your subscription is active until August 2026"

    • +2

You must not have a payment profile on that Australian account otherwise you'll get the wrong country error. I believe that's what they base your residency on

      • I do, which is why it surprised me. Same CBA card on the two accounts.

Yeah, it is indeed what residency appears to be based on - hence not having that sweet, sweet 500 Peso YouTube Premium access any more ;(
I was just shocked, so thought I'd post this funny little glitch. Definitely didn't intend for it to be advice, because - Yep! you're right, it will give you an error 99.9% of the time.

I'll just enjoy the access I have now and cross my fingers and toes that they don't revoke it.

  • +2

    Anyone get this issue ?
"This account isn't eligible for Google AI Pro plan
Google AI Pro plan isn't available in some countries or for people under a certain age"

    • Seemed like it's email based. Tried another account and worked.

  • +12

    Works like a charm!!!

    • Done. thank you!

  • +1

I used a visa vanilla card with no money

  • Do we need to use vpn everytime u want to use gemini pro after subscribing?

    • +1

      No need VPN after subscribed.

  • Can anyone confirm whether it can be used on mobile without needing to turn on VPN?

    • Yes, it can with VPN off.

  • Anyway to add this new account to an Australian family group? I tried to add it but can't since it's "American". Deleted the American payment profile but it seems to have deleted the Google one subscription as well i made another one as backup.

    • +5

Update: I created another US Gmail account went to Gemini Pro for students and it didn't even ask for a payment method or a student email I clicked confirm and I got Gemini Pro access. I than went to Google Pay and used my single use Zip Pay card to create an Australian payment method once completed I sent this new account an invitation to join my family and we all have 15 months of Gemini Pro now.

      • Could you elaborate on how your family members also received it for free?

        • +1

Invite and add them to the same family group. Make sure the Account with the Gemini Pro sub is sharing it under settings at one.google.com

          • @dontbeatightarse: How do you add the account to family group, I get "Can't join family group" as it looks like you're not in the same country as the person that invited you

      • Using Australian billing address for the payment method?

  • Tried 4 times, verified edu email once and after I put payment info in said not available in this country, tried again and now getting this ph number has been used to ma y times.

    • +1

Did you enter an Australian post code when inputting your payment info? If so that was the reason because by doing so you made your account become an Australian one and therefore ineligible for this deal.

      • +3

Yeah.. forgot I lived in 90210

        • +2

Lol. When Ozbargainers Beverley Hills meetup?

  • Where it asks for the Australian phone number, did you use the same one that's linked to your regular Gmail account??

  • It worked like a charm, but we need to reverify the enrollment for 30th Aug 2025. Grr. Any alternative?

  • Can you use this as your primary email on your Android? I wanna use it for their Google Photos

    • +3

Just create a family group with your primary and invite the new account after that you can share The Google One sub.

      • +1

This is an amazing play. My google photos just hit it's limit for space this week. Nice!

      • I just tried this from my primary and when I tried to add the USA account I got this:

        Can't Join Family Group
It looks like you're not in the same country as the person who invited you. Learn more

        • Yes, when I did it, it didn't ask for payment method or edu email. I just clicked confirm and it went through. That's why I was able to go to Google Pay afterwards and add an Australian payment method.

          • @dontbeatightarse: What link did you sign up through

            • @isthisreallife22: Used Google "Gemini Pro student".

              • @dontbeatightarse: Tried for a while and couldn't recreate your experience sadly. Tried VPN/No VPN for each of the steps. Every time I tried to sign up for the students offer it asked for a payment method.

                • +1

@isthisreallife22: Same, tried several different accounts, different VPNs, different countries as well but was asked for a payment method every time.

I did manage to change the region of one US account to Australia and add it to my family after signing up but every time I went to Google One settings to enable sharing always got error 500.

        • I was finally able to get it to work. You need to setup an Australian payment profile under the new account within pay.google.com. Then delete the US one. Confirmed that I'm still subscribed and was able to add my personal account to the family group.

          • +1

@FrugallyMinded: Yes, I managed to do all that including adding the account with the subscription to my family group. However when I went into Google One settings to enable sharing I kept getting error 500. I can access the 2TB storage and Gemini Pro fine on that account but it's not shared across the family group.

            • @xers: Same thing happened to me. New account was successfully changed to Australia and was still showing 2TB.

But when added to the Australian Family group, it started giving error 500 when accessing google one settings.

Family didn't get the 2TB benefit.

              • @D1Vad: Ok after much mucking about, I managed to get it to work. The trick was to change the main account to a US account (by adding a US payment profile and deleting the Australian one) rather than changing the account with the Pro sub to an Australian one.

Once the benefits have been shared properly, you can then create a new Australian payment profile for your main account to turn in back into an Australian one.

                • @xers: Legend, I will give this a go.

I assume I can keep everyone in the same family while I do this on the main account (ie i dont need to move the new pro sub account out and back in)

                  • @D1Vad: I did remove the pro sub account and add it back in as I was testing but I did not have to make any changes to any other accounts in the family group.

                    • @xers: I give up. I tried changing main account region all still in family and the pro account still can't change setting in google one.

I removed the pro account from family and it still can't change google one settings, still 500 error.

                      Thanks anyway

                      • +1

@D1Vad: I think that is because the pro account is still considered an Australian account since you changed it previously. Try this:

                        • First make sure the pro account is removed from the family group.

                        • Then go to the payment settings of the pro account, create a new US payment profile, then delete the Australian payment profile.

                        • You mentioned that you already changed the region of your main account to US so keep it as that, now try add the pro account back to the family.

                        See if that works.

                        • @xers: I did exactly this. You have to DELETE the AU profile for it to work, you can't have both AU and US profiles with US selected only.

                          • @freelife: Thanks to xers and freelife I got it all working.

Yes the key to changing region is all with the "Payment Profile" you need to remove all others for it to switch over. You need to select the payment profile so it shows all the settings (address etc) then right down the bottom there is "Close payment profile"

I remove the pro account and got it back on US and the 2TB storage settings were working again (no 500 error). Then to add back to the family account, main family account had to be US (can't merge it over as AU as you will already have 500 error). At this point everything was working, i could share the 2TB.

I considered just leaving the Main Account as US payment profile, but I switched it back to AU. This caused the 500 error for this account trying to view the storage settings, but the storage is still sharing just fine. Main account is now AU and pro account (with 2TB) is still US. It doesn't care that these account are different now, it just doesn't let you family up when not the same.

          • @FrugallyMinded: Still no for me… Once I originally setup the USA payment method even when I remove it and add an AU payment method, the account can't be added to my AU family

            • @isthisreallife22: I ran into this problem. Changing payment method wasn't enough.

Seems its due to the Google Play Store region, so i got old phone to log into and there I could change payment method in google play which asked if i wanted to change region when i did it.

            • @isthisreallife22: Just to confirm, did you change the payment profile? Payment method isn't quite the same. When you go to settings within pay.google you should click the edit icon next to Country/Region and it gives an option there to create a new profile. Once you setup the Aus one there, select the US one and then close it.

Also just noting that when I did change the payment profile and closed the US one, it automatically cancels the subscription which states it will continue until 2026.

  • +1

why the rush? soon it will be introduced in Australia, right now they are just testing it in 5 countries, Google already mentioned that, give it a month or 2 tops and you'll have it here without headache.
