What was wrong with it
Exynos probably
battery life
Exynos?
What didn't you like about it if you don't mind me asking? Have got the S22 and contemplating upgrading.
@jerdp @wingun @robotfrom1984 I'm sure ppl will have different experiences, but for me the S24 had an absolute shocking battery and the cell signal was also rubbish. This was with me setting tasker to only use airplane mode when on wifi, and putting almost every damn app into deep sleep.
S25 (snapdragon) has no battery or cell signal issue, and is faster all round. I am almost considering not upgrading to the S26 ;)
As someone with an S24 Snapdragon, the battery and reception are both good, so almost certainly an Exynos thing.
@aCmilan89: From BuyMobile via Kogan over a year ago. Grey market, so I took the risk warranty could be sketchy, but at the time, there was really nothing else that competed for what I wanted.
It has been excellent.
nah mate not just you, exactly the same experience here. would be sitting next to a pixel 9 which has 1-2 bar and I would have no reception whatsoever.
on the s25 now and the battery life is nearly tripled. I can go 2 days without a charge for my s25, barely a day with my s24. I do reckon my s24 was somehow faulty, the batt performance was night and day.
100%. My partner had an S22 Exynos and it was woeful. Just bought her a second hand S23 and she loves it. Much better battery and speed.
My S24 Exynos had weak 4G connection. No issues with S25 Snapdragon in the same places.
Too bad you were disappointed. I loved my S24 so much despite its lower specs than my previous S20. I see 0 value in getting S25.
For me, not only was I dying to get rid of the S24 because of the battery/cell signal issue I mentioned above, but I also bought the S25+buds+case for something like $625, and sold my S24 512GB base for $650 to mobileguru - so it made sense to upgrade anyway.
S25+buds+case for something like $625
That's a really good deal. Good on you, mate!
I have a S24 Exynos… I've been happy with it for the most part. Then again, I did upgrade from an S10e…
Same
Had the opposite experience. S24 felt better than the S25
Agreed. It is such a shit phone. If i could go back and keep my snapdragon S22 i would do it in a heartbeat. S24 exy is so bad i'm never going to buy samsung again. I literally just use any other old phone most of the time now. My S7 came out of the drawer and i use that for insta etc. I use my old Nokia for passing the time in the gym.
Interesting. I have just upgraded from S21+ to S24.
I did not look at the S25 as I was reading on the internet that a lot of people not happy with battery performance of the S25 series especially after the latest update.
My S24 is working fine, plus I got it new at nearly half price at OW.
massive discounts wow do they have bad resale value in the use market?
Except that deal wasnt really an ATL. See the comments in that deal
ozbargain has a GIANT hard-on for buying old galaxy phones at EOL for higher (sometimes MUCH) higher prices than the launch promos.
A lot of people, including me, bought S25 512GB for around $600 during the pre-order deals from TGG and JB Hifi
+1
I remember you were part of all the discussions people had for ETC etc 😅
I haven’t contributed much on the recent iPhone deal 😅
Staying clear and resting my inner patience for time being aha
@BargainsGrabber: Yeah better save your energy for posting similar pre-order deals when Galaxy Fold 7 and Flip 7 are released in next 2 months time 😬
This, and it's a huge upgrade from the S24 at a lower price when those deals come back in again. Was about $500 net via Samsung EPP on pre-order too.
Very rough deal in comparison, and there will be other brands offering deep discounts on Snapdragon 8 Elite phones.
Am I wrong? It's a huge bump in specs and it was nearly $150 less at peak.
Even if it was more like $600 (I forget if everything stacked for the S25 256GB model), weird thing to vote down.
They’re negging because that was in the past and if we have a Time Machine to go back on good deals, we would
@BargainsGrabber: Then they're pretty daft because if Apple are dropping enough rebates for $1400 credits to be offered on JB plan deals, Samsung will respond soon enough.
How did you manage that ?..I paid almost $ 900 if I recall correctly
Thats a bloody excellent price mate..well done ..I bought one for the Mrs pre order ..not sure how I missed this deal..excellent phone but in terms of photography Vivo and Xiaomi have the rest beat by quite a margin both Apple and IOS I must say. I took a chance bought a China only Vivo x100 ultra which was last year's flagship .. I had an s20 FE and was quite happy till I saw the pics and screen quality of the S25 Ultra so I did some digging and took a chance .. though if I could buy an S25 Ultra at this price I would not have looked around… The Chinese looks like are becoming what Japan once was in terms of tech .. this is my first Chinese phone and it is just amazing ..except Android updates only for 3 three years so 2 more years for me since this is last year's release.. Chinese ROM means Chinese bloatware which needs to be removed with every update and of course the warranty issue exists ..but the hardware, software combo and the camera tech on the Vivo x100 Ultra is on another level.. I only change phones when I need to hence why from S20Fe to this one
$550/24*23 early termination phone repayment + $79 for 1 month plan charge?
ExyNO
i just want to upgrade from my crusty s21 with a cracked screen. everyone says dont get exynos. is it really that bad?
i dont feel like dropping double the price for an s25. im no enthusiast when it comes to phones - as long as it does most things. compared to a snapdragon? what is the problem?
S24 is great, I've been using one for more than a year and had no issues whatsoever. I am a tech enthusiast with 30 years of experience.
You won’t find much difference in your day to day normal use, except slightly less battery time. But if you work in an office environment where your have access to charger this won’t be a deal breaker. Still a good phone in this price.
Your S21 also has an Exynos if it was bought here. If you were happy with that then you'll probably be happy with the S24. In general, the main tradeoff you make getting Exynos is the standby/idle battery life. Another tradeoff is the performance but that'll probably be indistinguishable for everyday use like messaging, web browsing, social media, etc.
All I want to say here is thanks to the awesome people that posted up the JB S25 deals in Feb
Such a good phone compared to my S21 with the screen that has a very distinct "tint" now from serious use.
My s23 is getting display flickering recently. Have to upgrade and waiting for s25 deal. For bigger base storage and more ram.
Went from a Pixel 7 to a S24.
I paid $699 off Telstra a few months ago.
Honestly, it's fine. its a great phone for everyday things. I don't game, I just use it as a phone.
I think the Pixel 7 has a slightly better camera, but for every day stuff you won't tell the difference.
I absolutely hate OneUI though. I spent a lot of time installing Pixel/Stock android things like the phone app, calendar app, and using the Google version of things rather than the Samsung thing (ie, like google photos).
I also installed before launcher (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beforesoft…). I highly recommend it.
Is there huge upgrade with s24 and s25 benchmark for gaming, how sluggish is both in comparison?
So I am seeing the price at 737, when does the 10% apply, after you add to cart ? Please advise.

I see. Thanks for clarification, appreciated :).
I juat bought a s24fe, going from a s20fe. It's slightly heavier but feels premium. I've never had an issue with the Samsung UI and everything works nicely. Battery lasts a full day of pretty constant use of internet, music, light games (e.g baltaro) etc.
This or oneplus 13R
I am using Oneplus 13R and can vouch it is a better device than this. Only thing I miss is the wireless charging.
Happy to answer any questions you may have :)
Not OP but was interested in the 13R as well, how do you find the camera(s) and photo quality? How does it compare to the Samsung rivals?
I am not a heavy camera user so haven’t deep dived into camera comparison. But 13R outperforms S24 in day to day use, gaming, battery life and feels extremely snappier.
@OZBsince2018: Thanks! And I take it that it hasn't been affected by any of the telco's 3G blacklisting shenanigans? (since to my knowledge you can't get OnePlus in Aus)
@PSImiss: No. I have used it with both Telstra and Optus so far and didn’t have any issues. So probably its included in their White list.
Leaning on other's experience here, I just bought the S24FE 256Gb from Samsung ebay, $679, arrives today. Should I buy this and send the FE back or keep the FE?
Would this be a better deal or better phone than yesterday's Pixel 7 Pro at $499 from Optus?
Also interested to know people's opinions on this. Should I cancel my Pixel 7 Pro and buy this instead?
no, dont cancel it, they're both shit phones so you're going to have remorse either way
I seriously did not like my S24 at all (had the base).
Couldn't wait to get rid of it, and the S25 base is so much better.
I wouldn't buy the S24.
