    Taiwan, Province of China ?

    • +3

Taiwan is/was never part of China and people should stop dreaming about it.

      • +4

Taiwan was part of China and people should stop dreaming and start reading history.

        FTFY

Japan took it in 1895, China was given it back on 25 Oct 1945. After the communists took over mainland China in 1949, it's old rulers self-exiled to Taiwan. They called Taiwan the Republic Of China (R.O.C.). Mainland China claim it's still part of China and thus a Provence Of China (P.O.C.).

        • Also, Taiwan the Republic Of China (R.O.C.) believe that they are the legitimate ruling government of ALL of China, not just Taiwan. It's in their constitution.

Most all countries in the world recognise the One China policy, including US and Australia.

Defence/Military corporate, and related individuals, want to hang on to and perpetuate the intentional obscurity, because $$$$.

The overwhelming majority of citizens in Tawain don't push for independence and are happy to maintain the status quo. Their government won't highlight this fact, and thus we will are unlikely to see a referendum on the topic, at least while the current party rules.

@scorpiovegas: surprised you got negged for stating facts lol

          • @scorpiovegas:

The overwhelming majority of citizens in Tawain don't push for independence and are happy to maintain the status quo

am i wrong in assuming the majority are fine with the status quo, as the status quo is pretty much independence of China? That how it looks to an outsider anyhow

As you mentioned, ROC were the old rulers of china, CCP just making a claim doesn't give them the right to own something. The whole world knows how CCP gained the control of mainland china except what happened to Tank Man.

Just a heads up for anyone wanting to try this, I wouldn't consider it to be a reliable option in terms of video quality. I have tried using this for the past few World Cups since Prime took the rights from Kayo. Overall I have found the video quality to be very flaky. It struggles to maintain a HD stream and regularly drops to potato quality. I have tried streaming both via web browser and via the Apple TV app with Windscribe premium VPN set to various different countries. My NBN connection is a solid 100Mbps, and all my devices are connected via Ethernet. I'm confident that the quality issues are down to the service rather than anything in my set-up.

The video should keep playing even if you disconnect your VPN after starting playback.

I've tried doing this, but the stream just stops playing straight away whenever the VPN is disabled.

That's quite disappointing to hear. The core idea behind this is to encourage viewership across countries where cricket is not popular but if ICC can't even deliver good quality broadcast content the growth of cricket is doomed.

    • For a bit of balance, I've been using the service for 2 years and not had any problem getting smooth playback in 1080p on a 25Mbps connection.

      • Interesting. What devices and which VPN provider are you using?

        • I use the website with Surfshark. I also tested the disconnect trick on an iPhone with the app before including that in the deal description although I didn't leave it playing for long. Sorry to hear it doesn't work for you. What might be a helpful experiment is if you tried playing streams which don't need a VPN but it'll probably be just a waste of your time.

          • @SocietyBox: I don't know if it's down to the VPN or the service itself, but I just can't get the live streams to work reliably for whatever reason. Always good to see workarounds like this though, so if it works for you and others that's great.

This colonisers' lazy baggers' game at least does not offer concussion-contusion though still waste of day/s long time/s.
It is good for time killer lazy baggers.

what language is this … 🙄??

  • I'll watch this in 4k on sky sport thanks

  • Is it free with Prime?

  • +4

Wish they wouldn't keep hosting this at Lord's. Not like the English are gonna play in a final any time soon.

    • 😂

    • +3

We've still got to pretend India doesn't run world cricket sometimes.

    • THEY CHANGE it, first year 2021 was in Lords then a different venue every now and then.

      • My mistake - first year was Rose Bowl, 2023 was The Oval.

My point still stands - it only ever gets played in England.

  • Prime sub isn't even that expensive tbh.

  • did anyone watch this stream? if so were there any ads? Amazon & Sky Cricket had plenty. Willow was better.

    • +1

I've been watching this on and off. Yet to see an ad.

  • Works fine with windscribe on an iPad. Airplay doesn’t work though which is a shame

  • Just discovered there's a native ICC and windscribe app on the Apple tv. Working good now, HD quality

    • Curious to know which Windscribe VPN server you are using? Are you getting consistent HD quality, with limited to no drops? I am using the exact same set up and the quality is pretty inconsistent with frequent drops to potato quality.

      • +1

Paris Jardin. I reckon in a couple of hours watching it dropped in quality two or three times, but pretty quickly restored itself.
