Almost same price as last year's Black Friday deal (just $1 more), and pretty close to ATL of $194 on Amazon; seems like a solid 4k camera at a reasonable price from what I've read (significantly cheaper than e.g. Kiyo Pro Ultra or Elgato Facecam Pro). Note that this version, the MX Brio, doesn't support Windows Hello, whereas the older version, the Brio 4K, does support it.

FWIW, this is significant overkill if you're just looking for a WFH camera (Teams/Zoom/whatever are usually at most 1080p, and honestly a lower-quality 720p cam might be better if you want to hide that you've e.g. just rolled out of bed).

Indeed potato cam is the best for WFH

    • +5

Yes no one needs to see the individual stibbles when I don't shave for 9am Teams calls

      • +1

It's limited to 720p for individual participants, so no need to worry about that.

    • Haha this is the way. I don't need people seeing all the fine details of the blurred background and my forehead wrinkles.

    a webcam for 200 bucks. That's a bargain.

    So this is OnlyFans resolution?

  • Does this require software installation, or plug and play? Want to get better camera for WFH (I know it’s an overkill).

    • +1

wouldnt work on my work laptop without driver permissions

    • +1

Pretty much plug and play, the software only does a few little things. You don’t need it.

    • +5

This should be more than sufficient if you want an alternative. I have this for WFH.

    • +1

plug and play for the basics, but depending on your usecase the software can add useful features. I like being able to quickly frame a subset of the 4k image and have it stream as 1080p, means you don't have to worry about perfect cam placement and angle

    $200 to showcase my pimples

    • Some people will pay extra for that

  • +3

This camera is really good, even at low resolution you have good light and natural background blur. I happily paid around $300

  • I use a 360 camera as my webcam as it allows people to use controls to look around my area

  • +1

Can i claim this on tax as a work related expense?

    • +2

      Yes you can.

      • …if you are using it for work-related purposes.

Can we price beat at Officeworks?

    • Yes

      • OOS

      • -1

Not sure why my comment was negged by someone. OW does price beat Amazon as its not necessary to have Amazon Prime membership to buy stuff from Amazon.

  • I think the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra is the best.

    • probably is, and at 2.5x the price, too?

      • It is meant to be "almost" dslr levels.

  • +6

Very good webcam and very good price, but no Windows Hello support is a deal breaker for me. Why Logi, why?

  • +1

this version, the MX Brio, doesn't support Windows Hello, whereas the older version, the Brio 4K, does support it.

So the older version is a better camera then

Not sure why Logitech think this should be a "master series"

pretty sure this is a better camera, but with one fatal flaw of lacking windows hello

      • -1

So the same camera with different microphones and "Rightlight" (whatever marketing fluff that is) and no Windows Hello

And someone who doesn't know that "Hardware zoom: 4x digital zoom" is digital zoom

  • +5

i disagree with the word "overkill" as many webcams are using outdated hardware which doesn't work well in low light.

i have the original Brio and even though i don't use the 4k res, the sensor's sensitivity is so useful when having to video calls at night.

  • the older brio 4k is better coz it has windows hello and its rated better
    and i have one

  • +2

If anyone is considering this webcam. Check out the obsbot meet 2 as well.

    • +1

I was looking at both obsbot and Insta360
I ended up buying the Insta360 from MyDeal during a triple cashback promo.

  • What’s the point of this if you have a good phone to use anyway?
Or you have a dedicated camera?

    • Can't always install software to use phone cameras on work devices

    • -1

Because you want a webcam for video calls

      • +1

if you are on a mac and iPhone this is redundant

        • -1

          No it's not.

There's a big difference between having a dedicated webcam and using your phone as an ad-hoc webcam.

And your Mac probably has a built in webcam making the iPhone redundant.

          • +1

@spaceflight: You can use your iPhone’s back camera as a wireless webcam in Microsoft Teams. And it's much better than most dedicated webcam.

I just recently transitioned to a PC at work, and I had to get an external web cam.

              I didn't say you couldn't

So this deal could have been perfect for you!

      • But what if you already have a camera? Can’t you just get a capture device to sue your camera as a webcam?

    • Ive used IVCam and it made my phone really hot… Its only good to use your phone as a webcam but only if its your backup/old phone cause you will eventually destroy the battery very quickly.

Not all dedicated camera will work continuously and sometimes need waking up in between session.

I tried to use EOS RP with 35mm 1.4 and the software doesn't allow always on. So its kind weird that when there is a call, i have to get up and press the shutter button once to wake up the camera and by the time the camera is turned on it would show me just on the process of sitting down as if I was not at my desk.

The other trick would be to wake up the camera before you answer your Teams call but if its an important call, you want to answer right away.

    • Spontaneous video calls for work everyday, easier to have a dedicated webcam rather than fiddling with my phone.

Also takes up less desk space.

  • This didn’t work well for me. I think it is to do with the frequency which I could not change on ms teams

Darn i was going to try my luck price matching in the morning

  • 2 in stock now

  • Was gonna buy this, but seems it doesn’t support Windows Hello.

    Is that true?

I know the older 4K Brio did.

  • Wouldn't it be easier to film grainy pov porn with a gopro

  • +1

Don't worry if you missed the deal, Insta360 Link 2C is a much better webcam. Logitech hasn't really came up with anything new in the last 10 years, basically just new shell and new model name to justify for new higher price.
