Even cheaper than the previous deal by $1.07!
- 8 cores, 16 threads
- 3.4GHz, boost up to 4.6 GHz
- 65W TDP
Even cheaper than the previous deal by $1.07!
No
Mine shows a coupon for $16 on orders over $129, bringing it down to $114 +gst. set your currency to AUD in the app or website, some things work out cheaper.
The coupon is listed on this post. $114 + GST is $130.79. Also, use USD unless your card has international fees.
Does using USD actually save money?
I pay with paypal and it always comes out in AUD. The price conversion is also better on their website. Mine comes to $126.03
think its time to get my paypal account set up lol
Great price but man really kicking myself for not jumping on the 5700x3d chips prior to manufacturing halt.. I've got a 5600x already but wanted to stick to am4 for a while longer and give my brother my 5600x
me too man, me too, i didn't properly realize that they were gonna disappear haha
Now I keep seeing the 7700 deals.. with a maxsun board (I'm ITX), and some decent ram for like 500-600 or less.. and I'm superrrr tempted. But.. I'm also at 1440p so CPU is kinda fine/balanced with my 3060 ti, i don't have a real reason to upgrade :(
Yeah i am holding my temptations.
I really reckon I should use what I have enjoy it and down the line buy stuff.
Am5 or am6 up in some years maybe !
Habibi is doing a massive upgrade
Ok cuz.
Sick bro
ayrib
header, header!
I don't get it. Please explain, Pauline.
should i upgrade from 3700x??
If you want to
You could
You could probably sell the 3700x fairly easily on ebay for a hundo.
But, the actual improvements would be fairly minimal, depending on your use-case.
upgrade to an x3d or nothing
When i5 12400F deals are better - should I just upgrade the whole damn pc lmao
https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-12400F-v…
The cpu is basically the same as 5700x.
I have AM4, on r5 3600 atm. Am waiting for an x3d deal but probably never happening because its stopped production.
User bench shart has intense Intel bias btw.
12400f has similar performance to 5600x on most tasks and gaming. Don’t use userbenchmark for anything, try techpowerup.
Depends on the game, anything that needs cache (most esports titles: CS2, League, etc.), the 5600 destroys the 12400f.
R5 2600 to R7 5700x would be a good upgrade, yes?
No games, mostly CAD with low to medium complexity. Occasional Twinmotion renders.
Yes, you're looking at a 50-60% performance uplift on average, before factoring in the additional 2 cores. If your software makes use of all 8 cores/16 threads you're looking at 2x performance.
Yes. Bigly. The cache alone will speed things up for you.
Did this exact upgrade a few months ago.
Yeah even general windows operating I noticed a difference. CAD you will for sure. Renders will show massive improvement in time.
Thanks, everyone for the reply. Think I'll bite the bullet.
for the price, i cant see you losing
Unless Trump imposes more tarrifs!
Maybe it's time to upgrade the old i7 2600k..
don't build a new system on AM4 socket, look at AM5 at this stage.,
Upgrading from 3600, I missed the 5700x3d last year so I just decided to go with 5700x.
Im in the same boat. 3600 -> 5700x
Did it make much of a difference? Mine has just arrived from the last deal and I’m about to do the same switch.
i only just ordered mine tonight :')
I upgraded my Ryzen 5 1600 to this last time. I just ordered another for the kids PC. Now I have to decided if it's worth updating to Windows 11.
The constant issues each time windows 11 updates is making me seriously contemplate installing linux and putting up with a new set of problems/quirks. I can't believe how unstable w11 has proven to be.
Yeah it's such a trash OS.
It's the most stable Windows version I've ever used. Switch to Windows 10 LTSC if you really want to keep using Windows 10 for some reason.
@ldd-mn: Oh my bad choice of words.
It's stable, but is it ever slow and cumbersome. Everything is made to look easier on the eyes, but totally less functional. In my experience - which is from Windows 3.1.
It's just so so slow. Opening windows and changing settings takes far longer than any previous versions. This is using variety of hardware too, not mine which was fast enough in 10, which imo was slower than 8.1, but not as drastically slower as 10 to 11.
Just frustrating that there's no other option; ubuntu doesn't support a lot software I use, and macOS, eughh, same reason technically.
If it's connected to the net you might as well. Windows 10 updates end this year I believe.
I really really really dislike windows 11, but I don't want to be compromised.
I got one last time, from R7 1700 to R7 5700X on an X370 platform. I would say it was worth it and I got lucky on the silicon lottery, but YMMV as usual. Better hope your motherboard lasts …

Nice write up mate..
Convinced me to do the same for my old 1600X
This is not an affiliated product, so no cashback?
Got mine from a previous deal at the start of last week. Arrived in what felt like horribly inadequate packaging, a fear initially backed up by the lack of a post. Fortunately I remembered seeing mention somewhere, possibly even on here, of the potential need of a bios upgrade. A temporary lazy coolerless run of the retiring processor to download and flash the bios and all is well in the world! I still feel like the packaging should be better then 2mm foam and an envelope though.
When you buy them new at retail they don't even have foam, just a cpu in a plastic clamshell. Absolutely nothing wrong with that packaging
They aren't generally being posted half way around the world though, I've bought things for $5 from AliExpress that have come better packaged. It worked though, so I guess they knew what they were doing!
Got this on last AE deal. Put thermal paste on it and didn't work, cleaned it off and was half way thru an AliExpress refund before someone suggested bios update, reset CMOS, reslot the ram sticks and it finally booted
Yeah this CPU was released Apr 4th, 2022, if you're running a BIOS older than this then it likely won't boot
worth it upgrading from Intel Core i5 12400F?
No, you will need new m/b too for such a minor upgrade. Similar gaming performance, 2 more core may help a bit others task but still not worth it.
Sorry for asking this question here- can I manually fix this to my cpu? Any YouTube videos please. Thanks.
Yes if you have an AM4 motherboard. It's fairly simple but will require you to remove the old CPU, clean the cooler, install the new CPU, reapply thermal paste and reinstall the cooler back on. Plenty of resources on how to do this.
Thanks for this. Before jumping on to google… will doing this require to install windows from scratch?
Nope. But you might want to download the CPU Chipset drivers for your motherboard after. Others might do a clean install of windows to make sure everything runs smoothly. Personally I don't reinstall windows for something like this
Make sure you have AM4 m/b and update the Bios before you swap the CPU. There are many YouTube out there, I suggest you watch some as there’s something need to be careful, but still pretty easy
All codes are not working for me
Just tested AUOZ16 and it's working now
Bought, thanks OP.
Ended up $130.63 with NAB Visa Debit, paid in USD via Paypal
I am on Ryzen 5 1600 the first gen.I cannot install windows 10 because it fails compatibility test.
Now am in a dilemma whether I should get this on Am4 socket or wait a little and get AM5 mobo and cpu combo deal something this year or next year ?
Depends on how you’re using it and for what but this will make a massive difference and be vastly cheaper.
As long as you’re on an SSD and have at least 16GB RAM you’re fine. Gaming tho depends on GPU
No gaming for me but I do a lot of video editing mostly on my Open gate 6k footage from Lumix S5iix. I have a 1660 nvidia gpu which is okay at the moment.
I have 1 TB nvme for my windows and 4 other hdds sitting in the enclosure hooked up in sata, RAM is 16gb since I built it.
Paid $138.77, Upgrading from a R5 3600 and first time buying anything PC part related on AliExpress so am keen to see how it goes! Great deal!! almost too good to be true :)
Don't forget to update your bios BEFORE you swap the processors! I just made that mistake doing the same upgrade. :(
Good time to upgrading anyway, code isn't working for me.
AUCD12 is valid but comes to $138 delivered
Bought this from 2months ago
Upgraded from 1700x to 5700x
Happy with it.
Then I upgraded my ram from 16g to 32g
GPU from 1060 to 4060
Run everything smoothly
Sold the 1700x + 16gram + 1060 for 100
nice upgrade
is it worth upgrading from i7-7700 and can i reuse the DDR4?
You can reuse the RAM, bear in mind you'll need a new motherboard if you swap to AMD. If you want to keep the same motherboard you could get a second hand 9900K for around $200
I purchased one to replace my 3600. Turned up as advertised and have installed it. 37% crispier for sure
I'm getting AU$134.99 delivered. How did everyone get $114.00 delivered?
