🔥 Nintendo Switch 2 SD Card Express – Fast, Reliable & Affordable! 🔥

Just got my Nintendo Switch 2, and I can already tell that 256GB internal memory won’t cut it for my needs. A 1TB Express microSD card would be ideal, but it’s way too pricey at the moment. This option is the best value I could find, enough storage without breaking the bank. Hope this helps anyone in the same boat!

Micro SD Express* not Micro SD

Pedantic semantics should at least be correct, especially since the most important part, that it's an Express card, and that it's for Switch 2, was included.

Just need 512GB or 1TB to go on sale

    • Is this not big enough?, i'll wait for 512gb to go on sale.

      • Can never have enough storage. Jk I have a 1Tb just sitting there neglected. The speeds don't match the size.

Depends on what games you play, and whether you play them on digital/game key cards or physical cartridge.

ATM I have 67gb left on my internal storage, and as I intend to buy more switch 2 games and updates in the future it probably won’t be enough (in combination with photo/video storage over time as well)

I would probably be fine with only 256gb extra, but as I am considering getting NBA2K26 and EA FC 26 (depending on their feature parity with other consoles) which my guess will both be game key cards, and the fact they are both high in storage I will probably want to pick up a 512gb minimum to ensure I have enough to future proof myself for 7+ years

        • Thanks! I'll stick to 512gb minimum.

Where can you find a non-Nintendo marketed card that works with the Switch 2 for less?

    • +18

This is an ‘Express’ MicroSD, not just the Nintendo name. If you find a better deal than this one, please do share.

      • Does the SW2 really need express cards?

    • +2

It doesn’t exist yet. But eventually there will be more 3rd market ones. I think EB already has ones made by Atrix. Other brands should come out soon. Note that this is the best deal atm though.

Anyone looking to buy more storage, make sure it’s express since Switch 2 does not support normal ones.

      • apparently it supports normal ones for transporting data from the switch 1

    • Find a non Nintendo one for less. Show us.

What's so good about these cards, other that they are good for the Switch 2?

    • +5

Faster. They're built on the PCIe standard, like NMVe disks.

      • do they have proper wear-levelling?

        • Yes they will

    • Much faster, but you need compatible devices.

    • It was made years ago, but Express has never really been used for anything up until Switch 2. Express is so fast it's basically a proper SSD. It hasn't really caught on to anything else yet, even sd card slots tend to not work at Express speeds yet. Express is backwards compatible, so there's no harm in buying it but outside Switch 2 you may as well save your money and et a regular micro sd card with good specs.

Original Switch SD Cards: Used UHS-I technology, with speeds up to 104 MB/s
New SD Express Cards: Utilize PCle and NVMe interfaces, reaching speeds up to 985 MB/s

Worth the money in my opinion, needed for faster load time.

    • Woah that's pretty wild actually, when will this tech come to pcs?

      • Why? NVMe and PCIe are already PC techs… Why would be need another flash disk format in the arena?

        • Eh moreso would be useful in those deck devices and that it's still cheaper than pcie / nvme stuff?

Also by pc i mean like either built in or externally with an adaptor via type c

Useful for camera and photography things, just nice to have more than one storage medium.

Would be nice to see this technology in phones especially, I wanna see sdcard slots be back in flagships.

Waiting for a deal on 512GB or bigger. Can't believe I ran out of storage on my NS2 already when transferring over my previous purchases.

  • Can get for $70 on MyDeal using same code but from city of games
