    • says build commenced for me , which could be who knows when.

      • Doesn't mean crap unfortunately. I've been in a "build commenced" area for over 4years.

        • Same here.

    • not on NBN, Different network.nice.

      Love the symmetrical connections

These are incredible prices, esp for matching upload speeds. Nbn prices should be this low

It might just be me, but I have noticed Pineapple getting slower than it used to be. When I first signed up a few years ago for 1000/1000 I could regularly get 800+ on speed tests, now it's more like 650mbit and often lower. I mean, it's still very fast but not much faster than the 500mbit which is a whole tier down. It also used to be a lot cheaper than NBN but these days it feels like NBN has caught up and will surpass DGtek in September in terms of download speed. Upload speed is still high (I get 800mbit) but you generally don't need that much upload speed, and if you really wanted to use it you'd probably need an extra $9 a month to get off CGNAT and onto a static IP.

One thing in their favour is the technical support is still pretty good when I've needed it, and local within business hours.

Not to mention that they don't drop prices for existing customers unless you call up and ask. I'm not even talking about promotional, time-limited offers, I mean the ongoing prices.

      • You can't have it all , time to move on⁉️

        • Not sure what you mean by "having it all", but yeah Leaptel is comparable in price for gigabit so I have been tossing up whether to trade faster download speed for faster upload speeds.

I don't know why I got downvoted, but the price for the same plan went down from 119 to 109 and it wasn't applied to me as an existing customer. So be aware if you do sign up you need to keep an eye out for any price drops to get them applied.

Actually, your table isn't correct. The prices after 6 months are higher than what you've listed, you've listed the previous 6 month promotional price.

I'm currently traveling overseas in Romania. I can't believe how cheap their internet is.

    ISP: Digi
    300/300 Fibre - $5.90 per month
    1000/1000 Fibre - $8.70 per month

Fibre is available to all areas of the country including rural areas and farms, none of this mixed technology rubbish.

It is still cheaper to buy a years worth of internet there for the price of a month in Aus.

They also have TV with about 300 channels for $8 per month.

While I would love to have such low prices for our internet connection, the cost of living between the two countries are vastly different.

      • +3

While the cost of living is much lower in Romania at least they had the good sense to go ALL FIBRE, not like the bunch of clowns we have here that totally stuffed up the fibre roll out. The end result is we are left with a hotch potch mixture of tech which is costing far more to replace than if they went fibre all the way in the first place.

        • While I agree that the Liberal government bungle up the NBN rollout, at the end of the day having the fastest speed available is pointless if people can't afford them.

Instead of charging $80-100/month for 100 Mbps tier that only some people can afford, loosing market share to wireless broadband, they should be lowering the price to the sweet spot of $50-60 and have everyone on it.

In 2025, broadband should be treated like basic utilities. It should be accessible and affordable.

I'm envious of anyone in a DGtek area!

    • Your address is within the DGtek Footprint
However it is not currently connected, and will require additional work to be completed. Register your interest with an authorised DGtek Retail Service Provider.

No guarantee of service, even if you are within their service area.

      • Wow so annoying. It seems like they ran out of rollout money.

  • Do they only service some apartment buildings in the city?

  • "Sorry, unfortunately Pineapple Net is not available at your address but we hope that will change soon."
