Has anyone tried their bundle deal? Up to $660 apparently.

    https://www.econnex.com.au/internet/blogs/combine-internet-a…

    • +1

      Says only till 31st May

  • +2

    i did this yesterday for $250 :( … minimum 30 days though

    • Do it again today. They will cancel the old one,

      • Automatic cancel? I did the switch using econnex on 31 May for gas only and haven't got switched over. Is it worth it to do it again?

    • +1

That is better than this one

  • +1

is Econnex just a portal to switch providers?

  • +3
    • That's sad, and no way to check the status or something, I'm waiting mine from April

      • +7

90-120 days payout,so its well within the timeframe

        • I'm still waiting for my one from last Oct-Nov! Nothing. I don't expect to see it either given we are in June now.

      • +2

TBH, I'm getting a little tired of negs without people mentioning, what was the negging for, my message was about the status tracking rather than whining about my own thing. Econnex should have something in place for people to track where they are with their GCs

I received one today, from the Econnex deal in feb. I went with Powershop.

      21/02/2025 - Signup
      27/02/2025 - Electricity Connected
      26/03/2025 - Gas Connected
11/06/2025 - Received Karta Gift Card $200 (for electricity) after 104 days from conenction.
Pending - Karta Gift Card $100 (for gas)

      • Just received mine finally too! Pending gas gift card now.

        • +1 received from Feb electricity sign up. Another app to download, never used karta. How does this work?

          • +2

            @s0805: Download the Karta App.
Click claim in your email, and it will send you a text.
Them click the link in the text and it will load the card in to the App.
From there you can add it to your apple/google wallet, or reveal the card details to use online.

      • Is there anything stopping us from using this deal and just churning again?

        • +1

No, usually you just churn again after the gift cards come through.

          • +1

@darkly: I don't wait for GC to come through. I just churn as soon as my 30 or 45 days are finished with retailer in question.

            • @s0805: Nice! doing this have you gotten you GCs before from econnex without going into any hassle?

              • +1

@dealt: started doing these from Feb this year. So far, 1st GC is landed. Others will follow eventually i hope. The thing is there is no limit on how many time you can sign-up as long as previously signed retailer conditions are met.

      • Received $200 too. Gas and internet pending.

      • Same boat as everyone. Just the $200 awaiting gas and internet gift cards

        • Just got the other 2 gift cards

      • Same - received $200 today but nothing for gas & similar timeline to yours

        • got the $100 gas today

      • Same, got electricity GC. Waiting on the internet now.

      • Just got mine. Went into Promotions area in gmail, so was flooded with crap was only by chance I saw it.
Signup was 20/02/2025, nearly forgot about it!

    • Just got mine - Came within 90-120 days.

  • I tried using these guys before, and they were useless. Took like 2 months and still not moved. Moved directly, got a smaller cash reward, but saving a fair bit monthly so if I didn't waste 2 months I would have been able to get the same amount.

    • Same, until I emailed my old provider and then it switched straight away.
(this was for gas and they had just read the meter)

  • -1

what is the difference between this deal and long-running https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/902931 which has a larger bonus gift card? Can I use the long running one again if I already have used it for a switch?

    • my bad, I think this is better as you can get higher GC of $175 instead of $150 in the previous one. but this one does require you to stay for 45 days instead of 30

      • Econnex called me last week to say it’s actually 30 days for everything but they say 45 days to customers “to be sure there’s 30 days” so they get paid and can pay you.
if they say 30 and it’s 29 days officially cuz confusion on start and end date etc it causes drama/issues.

  • If you sign up to Ovo energy using a referral for EV plan, you get $180 ($15 x 12 months) so its similar but spread out vs getting $175 in one go with Econnex link

    • +3

Yeah but if you do this every 45 days for 12 months you can do it 8 times so 175 x 8 = $1400

      • +1

I doubt they will offer same bonus $$ every time

        • +1

Been switching in Econnex Deals for years for the benefits.

Almost spent the $200 MC from earlier Deal, waiting on next $200 MC!

        • +1

You're right, it's not going to go on forever, but there has been one of these deals every month for the past 6 months or more.

      • Hi, can we sign up with Econnex link to OVO electricity meanwhile using the Ove referral code, then get $175 from econnex+ $180($15*12months) from OVO?

    • +1

Having used Econnex for years in these Deals, the best benefit is from switching again in next Deal, only staying with a retailer long enough to qualify for the MC (min 45d now).

      • If it's been 45 days since the connection date, is it safe to switch again if you haven't received the gift cards yet? (Believe it says 90-120 days)

        • Wait a couple of days to be sure if possible.
I'll be switching again on Friday, which is beyond 45d.
          MC can take 120d.

    • Hi, can we sign up with Econnex link to OVO electricity meanwhile using the Ove referral code, then get $175 from econnex+ $180($15*12months) from OVO?

    • Hi, can we sign up with Econnex link to OVO electricity meanwhile using the Ove referral code, then get $175 from econnex+ $180($15*12months) from OVO?

      • i dont think it will work.

  • +1

i still have credit on my agl account - can I apply for it now but schedule say a connection date e.g 1st August?

    • If that credit is from $75 Fed rebate, they have to refund that to you.

      • got $150 left including the $75 so yeah got June to smash the heater (i've got solar). Last month bill was $87 with moderate heater usage so yeah was waiting to finish it this month, ask AGL for the $75 rebate back and then switch to a new provider - whoever has a credit to join with

        • These Deals are frequent, so could wait for another.
Credit provided by a Retailer is usually forfeited if you switch. Govt rebate is paid out after you swich.

          • @INFIDEL: true that

            • +1

@prankster: Received over $1000 refund this year after switch (Qld Govt rebate of $1000 + Fed $75 rebates)💰
Haven't paid for electricity for years!

              • @INFIDEL: wow you QLD are lucky! we get jack from NSW gov rebate

luckily coz i have solar plus the AGL joining credit plus the fed $75 - i haven't had to pay anything this FY

                • @prankster: Change of Qld Govt means those days are over.
                  I like making a profit on electricity💰

              • @INFIDEL: Do you have solar as well

  • There aren't many options for NBN, and I'm using Superloop, so I'm unable to use this provider.

    • +1

30 day notice period for SL too

  • I never got my one from last year… sad. I usually get them but last time nothing, so YMMV.

  • Any benefit for new sign up? as we need to rent new home and new connect by end of this week? Thanks for sharing

  • +2

If you have switched in April using the previous econnex link. It required to be connected for at least thirty days. Can I switch now and would I be able to get two digital mastercards?

    • +1

this I would LOVE to know. Powershop will suck alot of money if I stay on them for too long

      • +1

Exactly I am with Powershop too. And if I am not getting two cards, then I'd just simply switch to OVO Energy.

        • -1

But powershop got u for that long and neither econnex not powershop are being accountable for rewards amount.. it's a scam..

          • @vikaskamboj: The last deal required staying connected for 30 days to get the digital mastercard and then Powershop also offered the sign up credit. So, that was a sweet deal for the first month; however, the usage charges are high with Powershop. So, 30 days are done and dusted. So, I'd like to make a switch nonetheless.

            • @ussenterprize: yeah I will stay on for one more month I think then switch to Ovo. Are you switching via Econnex?

  • -3

they have in their terms a condition that if you switched last time using them then you can't switch again and still claim the incentive - is that accurate in people's experiences? I want to switch power provider but i got this provider using econnex last time.

    • +1

Where does it say that? Cant find it

    • +1

      Where did you hear that?

      • ahhh i realised i got it from the shopback econnex terms

        • Could you please put the link where it states that?

    • I wanted to ask the same question. Shopback has this specific term which prevents churning directly from one provider via Econnex to another provider via Econnex

Existing Compare Electricity and Gas customers who switch to different Compare Electricity and Gas plans/plan at the same premises will be ineligible for Cashback

It looks like this "direct" Econnex deal doesn't have such restriction? Can anyone confirm? @.@

  • -2

i have still 400 that i have not received from ecconex
impossible to deal with them on the phone
    avoid

    • +2

Don't ring! PM their Rep here Manyo
      Always got a helpful reply

  • Is Ergon QLD simply the regional areas? ie Should be OK for this offer if in SEQ Brisbane suburbs?

    • Yes. Ergon areas (97% of Qld - outside SE) have no choice of any other retailer! So can't switch!

Brissie is available in this Deal. Signed up there in many Ecconex Deals.

  • When churning, do you have to pay disconnection fee to the previous provider and reconnection fee to the new one?

    • +3

No. Just moving connections so no disconnect fee.

  • Probably off topic here but does anyone know if Ovo still do credit check for new electricity account? They used to cheekily do credit check and still ask to pay a set amount upfront in advance.

    • +1

Just signed up with them and yes to both. You have to tick a box that you understand that. They pay you 3% interest on the credit balance

      • Cheers, thanks for replying.

  • +1

Can we switch gas after 45 days, or is there a 3-month wait required?

    • +1

Need to time it well. Gas reading seems to take place every 2 or 3 months.

I am interpretting this as the 45 days start to count after your gas is switched successfully.

Which means it can be 3 months + 45 days max wait for your gas..

  • How do you guys manage your NBN churns, when many ISPs require 30day notice period?

    • +3

Give them the 30 days notice, then sign up and set the start date for the new NBN plan for in 29 days time

  • +2

Just be aware, after back in forth with econnex over the course of almost half a year, I went into my email logs and found a possible source of why some emails from Karta aren't showing up.

Karta seems to be sending emails with duplicate Message-ID header resulting in gmail dropping any subsequent emails.

So if you sign up for multiple offers at the same time with the same email, or emails using the [email protected] then its possible it gets dropped.

I emailed Karta with screenshots but haven't heard back from them so not sure if they are going to fix or not.

  • We were with Powershop in Apr 2025 (that time from memory we got $150 welcome credit). Currently with another retailer. If we switch back to Powershop, current upfront credit of $200 will be honored by Powershop?

    • No, I am in the same situation and checked with them today, they said No. It's also mentioned in their terms and considerations.

      • Can I ask, who did u check with poweshop? I wonder how they know you are repeat customer if different email is used

        • I called their support team and they asked if it is for the same property and I said yes. Not sure if they validate the new customer based on email or the property address.

          • @dealsgrabber: Ok. Thanks. I think all signups from Econnex goes as bulk to poweshop systems. I know if the same email is used, it's Econnex who can't submit the app on our behalf. This happened to me last time. Might do further checking in T&C later today and decide.

            • @s0805: they have applied the credit for me every time i have churned to them usually every 2-3 months. YMMV

              • @svs500: using same email address if I may ask?
