Definitely not a "deal" for everyone but for those who need it, pretty sure this is the cheapest local price so far.
Surcharges: 0% direct deposit, 0.9% card, 1% on all other payments.

Yeah not seeing it either
Yea you got to squint really hard while chanting 4090 performance at 549$.
You need to choose "Click & Collect" at a NSW store as OP mentioned in the title.
I am seeing $5499
Click on a store to collect it from and the price will change.
Yes, in the search results, it shows up at $ 4,332, but the page listing shows as $ 5,449. OP probably got too excited and posted a deal without checking or something.
Nope. Click on a store to collect it from and the price will change to $4,332.00. Assuming you can find a store that still has it in stock for pickup.
Shows that price on most listings, Villawood for example has OP's price. Good deal but I picked one up recently.
Sorry everyone, this is clearly some sort of error. See the listing page showing for me below:
Edit: added to cart and still showing $4332 for me. Good luck everyone!
Can you edit the OP with which browser and OS you're using? EDIT: so far on Win 11 Firefox and Edge both showing $5499
I am using Firefox on android if that helps anything.
Seems to be for NSW stores. Showing $4332 for me for all NSW stores but $5499 for any other stores.
Thanks for the info. Lucky New South, if it’s gonna be honoured.
still not worth it that this price
Yeah $4K is max you want to pay for this card. it's entry level, and far too small to get rid of all the heat it produces. It also doesn't have a vapour chamber.
So much to dislike about this card including reports of coil whine in certain situations
I paid $2499.00for my 3090 back in 2020 and I thought that price was f#$%ed.
3090's still fetch $1K used so there is that.
$2499 for a video card is (profanity). I paid like $1400 for my 7900XTX and I think thats a reasonable price for a top end card
@Bruceflix: Yah but at release it was, Im just stating that $1400 odd is what top end cards should cost
@Franc-T: Um they are $1500 now; they went up in price after Nvidia jacked the price on the 5000 series. The 4090 went up by $1k now it sells for around $3500+ which is basically the cost they were when brand new.
Managed to pick one up for $4040. I have since sold it to a colleague because I needed the money for something else but this card is perfect if you were planning to water cool it like I was as you can flash the suprim bios on it.
On release day, I assume?
I haven’t checked graphics card prices in too long.
DAMN that’s expensive, and that’s the SALE PRICE?
At $4332, that equals 57.76 slabs of beer at $75 each.
I dunno man, beer or the 5090 gfx card that I will never use to its potential
However beer or the gfx card. The main link above displays
$5,499.00
Was: $6,299.0 WAS Tips Save $800.0
Set the store to Mansfield, but not logged in. COULD IT BE THAT YOU WERE LOGGED IN…
Yeah something weird is going on with it. I had logged in and set the pickup store to Auburn NSW and it's still showing $4332 for me. Set payment method, one click away from placing the order but I actually don't need the card so I didn't click it.
Can confirm for OP, visited link and changed pickup location to Ultimo which is my closest store and it shows $4332, but ONLY after changing the pickup location. Not picking one up though, just curious
Good to hear!
Hey quick question. Umart closed down in ultimo some time ago. I thought the old MSY store did there too. Where are they trading out of now in ultimo? Or did the MSY not close down?
@drinkin-beer: Umart group: Umart, MSY and PCBYTE:
https://www.umart.com.au/blogs/news/exciting-news-pcbyte-joi…
@drinkin-beer: I haven’t been MSY Ultimo recently but their google maps listing is still active so I assume it’s still open. It’s pretty much just a glorified click and collect location tho, the store is very empty with just a desk and 1 guy behind it. I also noticed this with Scorptec North Ryde, not sure why they do this. Maybe cost less for staff, or had too much stuff stolen, I miss browsing through pc parts in store.
As a non-alcoholic drinker, it’s an easy choice between beer and the 5090.
But I’d still rather not spend that money.
Shows as 5449 for me, in cart too
Oh NSW only, that explains it then. I selected a vic store
I don't understand the point of this card. Why does anyone need to play Doom at 230fps?
Nobody needs to play Doom but some people want to and are willing to pay way too much to do so
Pfft 230fps
720fps is the current target
https://videocardz.com/newz/sdc-reveals-first-oled-gaming-mo…
Nobody needs to game at all.
But if you have the money, and would make it an enjoyable experience - then why not?
You can run some rather large AI LLMs locally with 32gb of vram. If that's your thing. And you're filthy rich.
does running LLMs get you money
Yes, you can rent your computer out over the network to marketplaces with customers that want cheap AI.
@FujinShu: Is that really viable though?
Doesn't sound like it when the big ai cloud companies exist.
Like how long would it take to make the amount of money you paid for this beefy card back renting it out.
@FujinShu: haha it sure feels that way
i've met some ppl online wanting to buy one for "AI" but then they also limit themselves to nvidia gpus because it runs "AI" better.
At most their studies might have some AI involved units at University since that's a thing now but besides that don't see if they'll continue using it after.
It saves you money, if you need LLMs and would otherwise be paying one of the big tech companies for it. I expect the payback period might be incredibly long though!
But also some people don't want to use vendors for LLMs for privacy, security, or ethical reasons. So they might need to be running LLMs themselves.
It’s the ops price of 4332 on pickup only, so should be adjusted to reflect that
seems only for pickup in NSW
Hmmmmmmmmmm
Easily made my money back from generating AI shorts on youtube.
Actually?
Shorts pay on average 0.03 per 1000 views.
Just go look at the view count of some AI shorts.
Its a goldmine. Why do you think these cards are sold out even at this price.
Thanks for your valuable contribution to society. Godspeed.
XD
Does anyone know why we aren't receiving the $2000 USD MSRP pricing here? The RTX 4090 was way more competitively priced IIRC.
Give it a year.
$2000 USD is roughly $3100 AUD as of today, then there’s 10% GST on top, so about $3410.
The rest of the pricing is probably import costs and the spreading out of American tariffs across the global market, leaving some for retail margin.
Because that's the pricing for the US market
The official Australian RRP is $4,039
https://www.nvidia.com/en-au/geforce/graphics-cards/50-serie…
Even better explanation
Australia tax, just like getting Cat 6a cable cos it's "exotic".
Most of that tax is just import costs and US tariffs levied onto Australian consumers.
WILLL THIS PLAY MINECRAFTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
This is Minecraft
MSIs a great brand and this is a great price but I think the techfast deal for 5k is still better
I wonder how much Armaguard charge to transport 5090s between the warehouse and stores.
Must be bonkers to pay $4k for a graphics card 🤣
Well i got a gamerock from EU for just under this price but had this been i week earlier I would of got this. I think 4k will be normal soon EU back to msrp now, we just getting slapped here by cheeky retailers!
Factor in the rise in home insurance premiums.
Who TF needs this, is it exclusively used for crypto miners, who is gaming with this in their rig.
Nah. The 8gb and 16gb 3060 Ti cards were the go-to for crypto. You never needed a xx80/90 card
VR
Yeah with VR, you can't compromise on frame rate easily for better graphics (at least without getting headache).
Soz for the muppets who think this is a thing. Can't we all stop buying this OP BS for just 6 months? Let this monster starve and die.
Why so expensive
Two reasons. NVIDIA are under-supplying the market (intentionally) and people are buying what they do supply.
Three reasons. AMD isn't putting their money where their mouth is when it comes to ROCM. (at least for anything outside of enterprise).
No that's not the reason for high prices in Australia, in Eu prices are at MSRP, but in US and Australia they're not.
People have speculated Australian stock is very limited or the official importers that supply the Australian market are stockpiling them to keep the current prices high.
The stockpiling sounds a bit conspiratorial as that doesn't need to be done and storing hundreds of 5090's for long durations also has a cost and risks, the distributors can just reduce the amount they import which has the same effect causing high prices.
I thought mining is still at its peak. Thats why so expensive
Mining hasn't been a thing for ages - far longer than people have been blaming it for lack of supply.
It's AI this time.
and what is AMD doing? Too busy being 'based' as you kids call it to properly price their products?
Also CPU wise they have been price-gouging for months and yet none of you ever bring it up, funny isnt it?
thanks op bought 2
🤡
Appears to be OOS now.
some of us are still trying to buy homes
Good luck with another term of Labor
yes blame on the government lol
They are the reason.
"Yeah blame the gubment letting in 1m people in per year into an already stretched propadee market"
I can't even afford a car at this price
Really??? Clearly I need to get another job if people are comfortable spending this sort of cash to play games particularly when posting on a forum thats all about saving 10c here and there 🤔
maybe this is not just for gaming
this site isnt just about saving 10c here and there. Some of us like and can afford expensive toys, but we are not stupid, we want to save as much as we can on our hobbies while still purchasing things we want. While I would never recommend that someone should buy this for a gaming PC if i was asked, that doesnt mean that people shouldnt get one if they want to build a top end PC for 4K gaming.
Oh, the decisions of life. which child should I sell to get the card? :)
Sell them all. Each one of them will have cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars by the time they leave the house. That's a lot of 5090s, 6090s,…..all the way to 25090s by the time they move out! And that's if you're lucky, otherwise you'll be going to 35090s or 45090s
got 1 but it came without films on the box. did not realise it was the case until i saw online others have protective films on them. is this normal or did i get screwed up?
ok checked further and pretty sure its used
Do you mean do they come with protective plastic on the box itself?
They won't normally come with this. Often the box is unsealed and the card comes in an antistatic bag.
Where are you seeing $4332?
