  • Says "Currently unavailable" for me

    • Must be your location. Both 1 and 2 metre showing in stock for me. I don’t see a 3m option though.

    • +1

Shows in stock for both 1m and the 2m. The 3m now shows out of stock.

    • Ok, I'm based in Sydney. Anyone else in Sydney in my situation? I don't have a VPN on.

      • Western Sydney. More than 30 available of each 1m and 2m.

    • You may on the business account? Switch to personal

      • Yes, that was it. Thanks for that. I'll avoid this one though as I'd like a certified cable.

  • +14

Last time I bought "certified" cable, it came without any certification sticker and the one displayed in amazon listing was intentionally modified so that the QR code was unscannable. Cable from this listing has the popular "bcdfg123456" which is HDMI's own example. True certification would cost too much money.
tl'dr: not certified, maybe works, maybe not.

    • +1

Yeah some of the reviews confirm that the QR code is fake and cannot be scanned. But they also confirm it does work as an HDMI2.1 cable, both 4k120 and 4k144 working successfully.

One thing to note, it's not that hard to build a non-certified cable that can do 2.1 at relatively short lengths. I would start to worry about the 3m cable's reliability, but the 1m and 2m will likely work fine.

      • +1

Not denying that. I coincidentally do have a very long cable from FIBBR which was not marketed as certified. It works just fine, although I did not have chance to test the highest bandwidth.

I would not rely on reviews saying "it works" as they can be either fake, or those people may not use it to its full capacity e.g. windows will automatically reduce subsampling and bit depth, if user tries to push 4k 60Hz through a cable capable only 18Gbps (traditional HDMI 2.0). It will look just fine, even HDR will work. but it won't be true HDR and the image will be inferior. Not many users go to great lengths to ensure their image is truly 4k 60Hz 10bit 4:4:4

        • Agreed. Luckily for the manufacturer of this cable, even 4k60 10bit 4:4:4/RGB chroma is only just above 18gbps (roughly 20gbps), so it barely touches the HDMI2.1 standard.

It does beg the question of what HDR standards it can carry reliably, will it happily support full HDR10/DV metadata? Arguably, half the battle is just trying to get the media player to play these niche video standards. My kingdom for a simple working PC based DV player without hacking DV extensions etc.

But it's cheap, just buy it and contribute to landfill!

      • Landfills are like black holes, once sent there nobody knows or cares what happens next.

    • It's certified. I bought one, sent the certificate to [email protected] and they verified it.

I'm actually amazed as the cable itself is pretty good, the packaging is good, and it came with some bonus velcro ties. I was expecting the worst.

    Don’t be a Fibbr

I grabbed a couple of the Silkland 8K60 2m cables the other day, these are presently 20% off ($12.79) and are certified with QR code on the packet. Braided but soft touch and quite flexible. https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0CQP2XNYR?th=1

Not as cheap, but if folks are keen on the certification…

  • You need to buy 2 more to get 50% at check out

  • The HDMI ports on the RTX 5090 are certified for 4K 480hz which is HDMI 2.1b.

  • Thanks OP got the 3m.

  • 1m and 2m shows back in stock for me.

  • +1

Are they really certified at this price? I think they are FIBBRs

    • +4

All the reviews say yes; I can check when they arrive tomorrow.

It's a very valid reason to return them if not, so no risk.

    • what's this certification talk,

      what is this fibbrs??

(oh it's the name of the store oops)

  • 2 long and 1 short for $20? Easy buy.

Reviews say their certification is valid too, which I don't care about below 3m, but is a nice bonus.

  • +1

Only showing the 1 metre in stock now

  • I cant really see the 3m….

  • Bought 2. Now I need to buy 2x 8k monitors

  • +1

I remember when my TV mounter tried to charge me $80 for 2 of those. Robbers and thieves..

  • +2

These are just cheap cables that get good comments because they have nice braiding and look good quality but people who need 8K HDMI 2.1 specs aren't buying them so reviews are favorable.

If you really need the high specs I doubt this cable would work but that's ok because 99.9% of people don't need 8K HDMI 2.1 and those that do know to buy a proper cable.

    • -2

Why you like this? What happened to you bro? How has life made you this way? Did you spend too much time on Reddit reading about gold plated diamond encrusted super conductive HDMI cables that gives such a clear transfer it magically transforms your HD TV into 16K Super Duper Ultra HD? Bruh, it's a cable, it works, that's all that is needed to know.

      • +2

What happened was I needed the high specs and I discovered none of these cheap cables will do the quoted specs but rely on people like you saying "it's a cable, it works, that's all that is needed to know".

These cables will work maybe at 1m or lower specs but they will 100% not work at the quoted specs over 3m and maybe not 2m.

If you want 2m or 3m at the max specs you're wasting your money and posts like this encourage the seller lies to continue. Also, generally the high quality cables aren't gold or fancy but very plain without even the sleeving because instead of focusing on looking good they have focused on quality.

        • -2

Monster cable also very good but too much for the one that makes your TV look like 4K to 16K, those ones are like $400 and has pure copper with silver coatings and with pure gold connectors. I want to buy it for 16K quality for my TV but it's too much money. So I buy Fibbr for 3 years anduse 2m and 3m, no issues. Yes video quality maybe not as good as 16K quality that Monster Cable can do but Fibbr does 8K and is cheap but looks very nice when watching TV and Youtube.

          • +2

@Dollar Dreamer: You're the only one talking about crazy expensive cable and insane claims. You may have no issues but you're clearly not running them anyway near the cables quoted max specs. For low specs stuff almost any cable will work.

You seem to be getting analogue and digital confused because cable stats do matter for digital cables. I'm saying go with any certified cable for your needs, like CLUB3D, instead of this fake certified junk.

I'll dumb this down for you. If your cable can't meet the stats of your hardware you will have issues. It seems this cable exceeds your hardware but people with higher spec hardware will run into issues and regret trying to save a few dollars with this low spec cable.

            • +1

@roddy84: Yup, i think they are fakes because there is this same brand that also makes really expensive cables and then i noticed suddenly on ebay and amazomn they had this brand with prices that never came close to what i saw this brand sell their other hdmi cables. I have bought some of these cheap ones before from amazon, quality wasnt great. it had some issues with full bandwidth for 4k hdr.

            • @roddy84: Any other cable options that more affordable but certified and with full 48Gbps?

Only heard of Zeskit and now your recommendation of Club3D.

              • +1

@vongz: Club3D is my go to for cheap no frills cables at high specs. Just be careful your getting genuine and not fake if you get them from somewhere like Amazon.

They are more expensive but I've never come across one of these cheaper cables that works near max specs. Some don't work from the start but other will just drop out frequently-sometimes.

I did most of my setup though years ago so now some of the cheap cables may have improved especially with the release of HDMI 2.2 coming soon.

                • @roddy84: Oh any idea how soon? Thanks for the info

            • @roddy84: See below comments from users that have received theirs. Fully certified and does HDMI as HDMI does. Don't overthink simple things in life like HDMI cables yo.

              • @Dollar Dreamer: Sigh please calm down. If you haven't had trouble with 120hz 4k you won't know. You actually need real HDMI….that works

                • @vongz: I think Dollar Dreamer took offense at my neg on the deal but it wasn't personal and I thought was relevant but people now have enough information to make up their own minds.

It is something very simple if you require low specs or short distances but if you require 2+m runs at max cable specs it becomes much more difficult to find a cable that will do the job cheaper. You seems to not fully understand that cables make a huge difference and thinks digital cables will work like analogue whereas they are very different.

                  • @roddy84: Thanks. Where is the best place to buy Clud3d HDMI? Looking for 3m 8k/60hz, 4k/120hz

I bought the 3m cable. It came with a card inside that had a certification sticker. I could verify it. The label wasn't on the packaging though. Just on a card inside.
