  • Nice, was checking it the past few days and spotted the price drop this morning too.

Any other cheap items to get over the minimum spend for code? Don't have a charcoal bbq.

  • Does this yet do reverse tumble? Great dryer but the old model just rolls your sheets into a ball

    • +1

      it has reverse tumbling

Just FYI from my personal experience, I had one of these since October 2022, while it was working it was good, but it started having issues in the last 6 months, from moisture sensing not working, it kept drying my clothes for hours even after they were dry, until eventually the drive belt seized or broke and the machine stopped spinning altogether.

Although the machine was just outside of the 2yr manufacturer warranty, I had to push pretty hard to have it covered by ACL. Eventually they agreed to repair, when the repair specialist arrived he couldn’t free up the bolt that housed the bearing for the drum to get to the belt, it was rusted up and seized, he said it was a common fault. Now I’m getting a refund to buy another dryer and I won’t be getting another essato.

    • +3

Appreciate you sharing your experience and repair techs knowledge of the machines. Glad to hear you're getting a refund.

    • +3

thanks for sharing, it seems that even the more expensive units can also have their issues too as I've been researching for the last week or so.

I've also seen many positive experiences with the unit.

The registration makes it 3 years warranty so that's reassuring and glad you were able to get it refunded with ACL pressure.

    • +2

Ours broke within the extended warranty period, I believe it was an additional 2 years by registering back then but not totally sure.

Technician visited once for 90min and said it was fixed but it wasn't, after that the same technician wrote the machine off and I was given a full refund of the original purchase price. Whole process was about 2 weeks.

Bought a Beko with 5 year warranty as replacement.

    • I have the same machine and bought at the same time as you. Thankfully, haven't had any issues with the machine, but I'm interested to know, doesn't this come with a 5 year warranty? Pretty sure mine does.

    what about VIC….

I also bought this condenser fins filter(aliexpress.com) from alie express and it fits perfectly.

What's this for? There's a small amount of fibre build up on the fins which I clear out with a toothbrush. How does this minimise that?

    • +1

Yes the fibre will go on the sponge filter instead, which is easier to clean.

      • i got same filter but id doesn’t fit will, had to fit it in by squeezing from different sides

        • +3

Was Will okay with all this ?!

        • +1

          Cut it to size.

    • The fins actually go way deeper than that (and there's two of them), to the total depth of 3/4 of the machine. It's impossible to clean the fins well without a full disassembly.
Cleaning the surface with the brush is needed, but this extra filter may really help prevent a buildup inside of the dryer. I saw some dryers have this extra filter pre-installed.

How was everyones experience with AO.

We got the dryer but I believe its sensor isnt working correctly, it stops after every 10 mins even if the clothes are fully wet.

We reached out to AO but they said we are supposed to contact Esatto, had to push quite a bit for them to send a repairer.

    • +2

For a dishwasher that was faulty on delivery AO swapped it out.

For our Esatto dryer they arranged the repair technician, who eventually wrote the machine off. Refund went back to AO and same day I bought a new Beko unit from them. Found them to be pretty fast and efficient, though it took Esatto some time to do their part and get the technician here.

  • +2

Spend the extra $100 effectively and get the Haier.
    Thank me later.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/911873

    • Link?

    • have you tried both?

      • +3

        Yes.
Haier is a better build and is a company that makes quality appliances.
Esatto only lasted 3 years for my sister before it started playing up and also leaking. The components used are not the best.
Beko is by far the best I've owned - a very underrated brand. Bosch was a dud.

        • So you're saying get Beko instead of Haier?
Beko is only like $50 more at appliances online..

        • I had the Teka unit (i believe same as esatto). Lastet a little over 5 years.
Then it was between Bosch and beko but after reading about the beko fires in the UK I knew I won’t be able to trust any Beko unit. So went with the a Bosch.

I ordered this last month to ACT and AppliancesOnline called me last week saying this was discontinued and offering me the Onix dryer instead.

    • Same here, there's reports of someone else getting the same call only to have the Onix offered at a higher price. That's just bait and switch by AO if they've got stock again.

    • Same issue. Pushed back (Onix doesn't fit our bench) and they said they would ship it from Qld in 2 weeks. Now it's in stock in NSW, which is weird.

    • +1

I got the same call last week also, they offered Onix at no extra cost, then got another call over the weekend advising the Onix was on back order and they changed me to the Beko BDPB8010W at no extra cost.

      • Beko is the best outcome

  • Would love to buy this but have a small laundry with current dryer wall-mounted. How can I get this? Any ideas on what I can do?

Can it be kept outside with minimal shelter? Or in another room?

    • You can have it in another room. Remember to empty the water container. Could put it in the bathroom if you have room.

      • Absolutely have room in the bathroom. Thanks never thought of this.

    • AO Q&A clearly state that this needs shelter otherwise warranty void.

    • cant u replace the wall mounted dryer with this one?

      • None of these heat pumps are wall mountable.

        • Yup

    • Remove wall-mounted dryer.
Buy this one and sttack on top of the washing machine with a stacking mat

      • Thanks mare but sadly there is no room above the washing machine. There is previously installed cabinet.

  • +1

I bought this one last deal. It stopped in the middle of a dry this weekend with clothes still wet and error "F:UL".
The water container was empty when we turned the machine on.
There was some water in the container (because it did try a bit), but it wasn't even at 1/4 full (>3/4 still empty).
Turned it off and on, then it did continue drying.
When it does run until the end, it does it's job.

    • +1

I had the same issue with my unit. It’s a common error. They replaced it under warranty.

  • The Charcoal BBQ 4K bag is out of stock now (guess it got Ozbargained from this) so you'll have to find some thing else to place into the order to get the $50 off with the referral. But i don't know what you would get as i can't find any thing else around $10.

The cheapest i could find so far is this Washing Machine hose extension for $25. I don't think they even have any thing under $20 listed.

    https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/unilux-ulx106-26…

And also it says that the $50 off referral is only for a new account for first order. So useless for an old account.

    • +1

What about the dishwashing tablets? I linked a few products here

      • Yeah that's great. Thanks. Best you can get now that the BBQ Charcoal is OOS.

I have this machine. The lint filter on the inside isn't sealed very well against the body of the machine and a lot of lint makes its way past to the condenser fins. I used some thin foam tape to create a seal around the lint filter assembly and got the filters linked in the post from aliexpress for the condenser fins.

Might be overkill but stops me from having to do any extra cleaning. In 6 months of use, I haven't had to clean the condenser filter yet.

    • Thanks mate, you've answered my question below and will be buying the filters from aliexpress

    • +1

I did similar with 5mm self adhesive silicone seal. A lot better but not a perfect solution. I was concerned putting a foam filter may restrict airflow too much (like having a lint build up). However other machines use them so go figure

  • Had this for about 2 months. Can someone advise if it really takes that long for clothes to dry? For example i have a mixed load that says 3 hrs to dry when i start, but ended up being 6 hrs to finish the cycle once it stops..

I haven't really used a dryer before, so cannot compare..thanks!

    • It depends on how heavy the load is. I find that seperating clothes yields better drying times and results rather then just putting everything together. Towels ~3 hours, Synthetics ~1.5 hours, Cottons ~ 2 hours.

      • Thanks mate.
I might need to check as something might be wrong on my one, as sometimes it takes 4-6 hrs…

        • +1

That definitely seems too long, I've done a load of 5-6 towels, and I'll put it on the "extra" cycle, for 3:40, and it has never run over that.

    • KG for washing machines are dry weight, dryers are damp weight, if your packing your washing machine even though it then easily fits in the dryer will take longer - I also find I had more issues if I don't keep the metal fins clean but yours a bit new for that

  • +1

I had the Stirling model from aldi, same dryer rebranded. Died after 2yrs 9mths, motor bit the dust. Aldi to their credit gave a 100% refund. We only used ours maybe 25 times a year

  • Hey @crazynic, I've got the EHPD80, and it doesn't have any filter for the fins. Did you get those from aliexpress to help protect them or does this model come with them already pre loaded?

    • No i had to get them separately on alieexpress

  • +1

Pricks cancelled my order last time this deal was up and then relist it with our state left off.

I could forgive it if they hadn't told me it was due to a shortage of products, when in reality they just don't have efficient logistics outside of the big 3.

  • I ordered from Appliances Online during the last deal a month ago. They called on Friday and said they got none left so offered me the Onix instead, said it's better. Yes it's a few hundred more but when I did a bit of research seems like it's the same level or worse than the Esatto…. Just gonna ask for refund.

I noticed this deal says no WA. Guess they had no stock in WA. But why did it take them a month to call and tell me that? But pissed off about this.

    • Ask them to ship from another state if you're still keen. That's what they offered me.

      • Started reading more reviews and I'm a bit put off by people saying you always have to run it twice. Can't you just set a longer cycle?

  • As others mentioned I got a call saying my order was cancelled (SA). Due to it being 'end of life' by the manufacturer. What they might be selling now is residual stock. Not sure if a new model coming through to replace or what support will be like long term

  • I have a haier washer that is only 540 mm depth and 590 mm wide, can I still stack this dryer on top of it with a stacking mat?

  • +1

thanks for the write up op, very comprehensive

  • Is it safe to install them upside down? I have only space to hang it on the wall. And if I do that in "normal orientatrrion" - control panel will be too high.. Or is there a jeat pump dryers with control panel on the bottom?

  • +1

Took over 3 hours to dry but dried warm and nicely.

  • Does the condenser fins filter fit the Stirling model? I’m assuming so since it’s just a rebranded esstto. Anyone confirm?

    • I have 8 filters that I purchased from AliExpress (the ones that OP linked above) but we ended up not needing them. I can post them to you if you like. Would rather they didn't go to waste.
