Exetel nbn FTTP or HFC 500/50: $100 Cashback (for New Exetel Customers) @ TopCashback AU

1780

Perfect to stack with this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/913142

What will stop me getting my cashback

Cashback is eligible on NBN plans only (all other products or services are ineligible), and for new Exetel customers only.
A new Exetel customer is defined as someone that is no longer an Exetel customer and has no active service with them.
You must remain an Exetel customer for at least 90 days after placing your NBN order to be eligible for cashback.

  • Orders must be completed wholly online, and not negotiated via phone/chat etc.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the pink cashback button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • Any accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the cashback system will be banned and cashback forfeited.

Good to know

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.
  • If an order is cancelled / returned / exchanged / modified, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.
  • To be eligible for cashback, all transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted/negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

        • Yes. As long as it the new code (you may have to cycle a few times like I did) it will work.
$1 off a month each person. As long as both stat with Exetel.

          • @internet-stranger: Would this stack with this $100 cash back offer?
Just making sure I don't forfait the $100 cash back for $1/month - that would take a loooong time to recover :(

            • +1

@bauser99: No idea :( and no clear response from rep.
Unless you are planning on keeping Exetel for the next 100 months I’d pass on the referral just in case.

  • Moved from leaptel that got disconnected within 5 mins of ordering but exetel service is still on received status after 2 hours… anyone else?

    • If you're switching from Leaptel, your internet connection with Leaptel should remain active until the Exetel service is successfully activated.

      • I havent made a request to leaptel to disconnect my nbn. Exetel blaming nbn for the issue. Churned to different providers before and it took less than an hour for the whole thing to happen. Seems more like an exetel problem.

        • turn your modem off and and on, if still no internet.
I dont know if I had to do that, but I did when I lost internet.
The reason you lose internet is because Exetel churn you on the existing port, they don't use a new port keeping old service active. There is no ability to choose your preference

          • @bobvegas: Did that too. Still no internet. Uni d port has a yellow light so service is definitely not active

          • @bobvegas: Switch your NBN box off and on again also.

This has been asked a couple of times earlier but not answered.

Can we use a referral code to get $1 per month off the Exetel One plan, and still get the Topcashback cashback?

    Can TA confirm?

    • +2

      it's $12 a year, why even bother when you're risking $100 cashback.

      • Please surrender you OzBargain badge :P

    • Following. Let me know if you did get a straight answer from someone.

    • Oh man, I chucked in a referral code without even thinking. Just assumed it gave my mate some discount, not me. Hopefully I still get the cashback. It tracked at least.
      @tightarse ?

  • Just got off the phone with Superloop after requesting a plan cancellation due to this Exetel deal. Go on live chat, tell the AI bot that you want to cancel NBN, and within 15 mins you'll get a call from Superloop. I'm currently paying $85/month for 50/20 FTTP, and they offered to upgrade me to 100/40 for the same price, with a promised speed increase to 500/50 in September. It’s $5/month more than Exetel, but at least I don’t have to go through the hassle of cancelling and switching providers etc.

Hope this helps someone in the same position!

  • When is this cashback ending? Thanks

  • Oops. Just signed up. Used random refer. Hopefully I don't lose my $100…

  • It is mentioned that have to be on plan for minimum 90 days. How long will it take for my cashback to be payable? and lets say if I opt out after 90 days from exetel, I woul dbe eligible for cashback right

    • @tightarse

      • +2

@Ankit4632 Sorry I'm not TA but you had asked the same question 3 times over a minute lol.

I had purchased Exetel and recall cashback is estimated as payable in 23 weeks. After purchasing, you can see the estimated payable when you click "+" on the transaction.

My Exetel cashback was paid faster than the estimated time. I bought on 29th Nov 2024 and it was paid on 25th March 2025.

Not sure about opting out after 90 days from Exetel as I stayed for 6 months. Exetel requires a 30-day notice to terminate the service. Some people have managed to get this waived.

        • Thanks @trixieb.
Actually I don't need higher end plan as I am keep getting 50 AUD plan from Tangerine. So, Was thinking if I can opt out after 90 days to be eligible for cashback.(Payable at later is fine)

        • There’s no need to give us 30 days’ notice

This post says no need for 30-day notice if I recall correctly. Not sure of before.

          • @bcYield: Thanks. Previously had 30 day notice as I had to give. The new offer doesn't appear to have the term.

  • anyone would like to share if the cashback will work if using a referral code? understand it's only $12 vs $100 but it's still money and we're on ozbargain. lol TIA

  • Hi lovely people, I need your help and expertise please. I've just joined Exetel this arvo and Im having trouble to get anything pass 100mb. I've done a few tests on both the 2.4G and 5G with no luck.
Secondly, no connection when i try to connect to my Ubiquiti Unifi Pro.
Thirdly, I sometimes received the following error "Upload Test Error- A socket error occurred during the upload test. A firewall could be blocking the connection or the server might be having some issues. Please try again later. - Alternatively, check out our free Speedtest for Desktop apps for more reliable testing."
The technical person couldn't help me and really not sure whatelse to do now. I'd really appreciate if someone can help me please as i am not a tech savy at all. Thanking you in advance

    • I'm in the same boat, only getting around 80mb but upload speed is 45. :(

      • +1

After multiple restarts of the NBN box and router, I've tried on different device 'surface pro' instead of the laptop and got about 432mb on the 5g, about 95mb on the 2.4G and 93mb with the ethernet cable directly plug in into the router

Thanks OP - signed up today, moved from Leaptel 100/20, churned within 2 minutes of signing up using the same router / settings, $100 cashback tracked A+++

  • Anyone churned from More? Do we need to fiddle the settings or manually cancel More? Thanks

  • Currently have Exetel for my parents' place. If I use a new email and phone number for a new address, would I be considered a new customer? Do they check ID? It's been a while, I have forgotten.

  • Cashrewards is offering an extra $20 cash back. Ends tonight Friday.

Anyone else have issues with trying to sign up for this?

Just tried to sign up via the link in the TCB app and it brings up a webpage that stuck on load, then displays an error message saying connection timed out.
Also tried logging in to TCB via Chrome browser, clicked the link to Exetel and it brings up a webpage that stuck on loading, and does not progress further to Exetel.

I can access Exetel's own pages to view the plan, etc.

    • I'm having the same issue.
Edit: same issue also with cashrewards

      • Yeh, just tried cashrewards just now, cos you mentioned it and the same issue as well.

    • Having the same issue….tried Chrome and Edge Browsers…anyone know what is going on.

      • +1

Adding www. to the redirection url should work, as "https://exetel.com.au/" without www. doesn't work, however the virtual chat says you can't set a starting date for the service and you can't talk to an agent unless you're an existing customer. Not a great start…

Edit: cashrewards have fixed their url redirection now

your still better off churning $80 is too expensive for 500mbps

  • @tightarse - I signed up back in March. Do I need to stay with them till the cashback changes from Confirmed to Payable or will the cashback turn to payable even if I moveto another provider given that it's been 90 days+ ? thanks

  • @tightarse I can’t seem to load Exetel website through TCB app, is it a known issue?

  • shit company. joined. speed 10% of promised. Support blame me. I work in IT.

    stay away, use another offer.

    • I signed up 1st July.

Solid 530/44 every Speedtest. ACCC monitoring box also backs that up.

      • buggar. wish they had better support

  • Went from Leaptel 100/20 to Exetel 500/50.

Switched over in under 10 min.

So far so good, can't complain after churning the Leaptel deal for 1 yr at $74.95. Now paying $79.00.

If you just browse the internet, WFH and stream, don't see it being a big problem.

  • Moved from Spintel to Exetel.

Speed was good for a few days.

Yesterday As soon as I started P2P downloading using a VPN (of course its gotta be Linux ISO's), speeds got throttled from 500 down to like 7 - 5 mbps.

Looks like they are still pulling the old throttle encrytped VPN connection, previously reported by ozbargainer nico8amy here > https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12650871/redir

This was during evening peak yesterday. I didnt totally realise what was happening, went through customer support who did the old ""lets do some troubleshooting, turn off router, what colour are lights on nbn box blah blah ", none of which helped.

Searched for Extel VPN throttle and came across nico8amy's comments previously.

Hopefully a heads-up to anyone else signing up.

  • This says expired but the deal is still on the website? @tightarse can I still sign up tomorrow like I planned or am I out of luck?
