also available at Jaycar and won't charge international transaction fee.

It's $629.10 but in the title you only have $629..
    Extra 10c.

This is only $300 in the US but $630 here on discount, $700 retail!? The AUD is not that weak.

    • Well its $300 pre tax and ours is 700 post tax, still high. Chances are they are trying to offset losses due to ACCC laws

    • Also $300 USD is about $460 aussie, then you add on top the GST here, which would be ~$510.
With Discount its only about $120 difference not the massive $330 that you make it out to be.

I wasn't saying it's $330, but to say 'only' $120? $120 is almost 25% of the post GST price you've quoted. That's a big difference

        • Chances are the US is their largest market and tariffs would also apply to 3d printers. So we are probs subsidizing the US cost

    Cheaper at Jaycar.

Vote with your wallets people, avoid companies adding ridiculous "Australia Tax" (especially when the competition doesn't)

Flashforge AD5X $480 on ebay right now with vouchers.

Why would i buy the Elegoo with its Australia tax.

      • If you watch some reviews and examine the quality of output, the Centauri Carbon is hard to beat right now, even factoring in the slightly higher price point here—my guess is that some of that cost comes from shipping, as these machines aren't small or lightweight.
I paid $699, and even at that price I consider it a bargain for what this machine can deliver. The P1S is probably the closest competition, but it can't handle carbon fiber, so you'd need to step up to an X1C—which costs over twice as much (in Non-AMS form). The Centauri Carbon is a solid machine. Flashforge and AnyCubic options are cheaper, but they don't deliver the same output quality, so it comes down to how much you value print quality and whether that's worth paying more for.
The AMS is coming soon, so it'll be interesting to see how much extra they charge for that addition.

I agree with your sentiment that it looks like a great machine. The output and quality of the prints look outstanding.

I was really excited for the device when seeing creators talk about it.

I jumped into the live stream to watch the reveal. Saw the US price and was really excited.

Saw the Australian price and all that optimism left.

You speak about high shipping costs. Bambu, Flashforge, Anycubic, Sovol, Creality all seem to be able to get a device into Australia at a reasonable price (matching or near matching US pricing). Maybe Elegoo should talk to them about logistics.

Agreed, I advise anyone who cares to look at the price history of Elegoo's printers on Camelcamelcamel for Australia vs any other region, we got completely shafted over the past few months.

I was in the market for a resin printer and I was considering getting an Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra, but at around April this year Elegoo did a stealth price hike on a ton of their items.

The Saturn 4 Ultra 12K used to fluctuate between around $770-$620, but after the price hike it shot up to an all time high of $950, and even at a "discounted" rate it's at over $800 which is higher than their old non-discounted price.

They didn't even try to make the Centauri Carbon an appealing value buy for Australians as it arrived out of the gate with an extra $100+ Aussie tax, here it's competing in a similar price bracket with other good core XY FDM printers like the Qidi Q1 Pro, Bambu P1 or the aforementioned Flashforge.

  • That website is horrific.

  • sorry im in the market for something in this class but the pricing just isnt right here. Hope Elegoo come to senses
