In b4 Marshmallow says he bought it for $250 with coupons and cashback.

    • -2

lol.. If i wasnt waiting for Zen6 for my next upgrade i would be all over this… :) This CPU will 100% be $250AUD when Zen6 comes out going by the specs Zen6 is going to be insane

      6 to 7Ghz
      48MB per CCD L3 cache
      12 Core single CCD
2nm latest and greatest TSMC process (even before Apple gets it)
      All new memory controller.
2x memory controllers for running 4x sticks of DDR5 8000MT/s

    • US$250?

I got mine for AU$450 a couple of years ago with coupons, sales and stacking.
This deal is a no brainer.

      • +1

You've missed the joke directed at a user
Marshmallow who frequently puts down deals and falsely claims you can get these at ludicrously low prices.

        • 😜
          Now we know!

  • +1

Damn 7800x3D for cheaper than all the 5000 series x3D parts. Waiting for those to go on sale again so I don't need to upgrade the rest of my system

    • +9

Waiting for those to go on sale again

      💀

    • +5

Yeah they won't. They stopped making them.

    • yeah, but lets address the elephant in the room. With a cheaper 7800X3D, you need to spend money on a decent compatible motherboard & DDR5 RAM.

Is it worth it??? That's the question?

  • thanks op ordered one, now are there any decent motherboards for the 7800x3d on sale?

Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX AM5 mATX Motherboard $254 Delivered

PCIe 5.0 on the GPU and Nvme slot with the latest bios update + 12 phase Vcore
      https://www.centrecom.com.au/gigabyte-b650m-aorus-elite-ax-a…

      • +1

TY and ram to suit :D?

      • +2

When you click the link for the Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX AM5 mATX Motherboard, it shows the GPU slot as 16x PCIe 4.0 though, not 5.0 (only one of the M2 slots is 5.0).

I checked Gigabyte's website and it's showing the same thing… I can't find any information about a BIOS update that increases it to PCIe 5.0?

        • +2

I have the ICE version of the motherboard, and it reads my GPU as PCIe 5.0. Not clear if that means it is fully compatible

        • +1

AMD marketing restricked board partners to limit B650 to PCIe 4.0 enough time has passed and AMD doesnt care what they do… PCIe 5.0 is built into the CPU.. there was never any reason it wouldnt work on B650. ASUS and Gigabyte has been enabling it on lots of their old mid to high end B650 boards with bios updates. MSI.. hasnt bothered

          • @vid_ghost: Awesome - I have a Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX which is listed like this board (PCI 4.0 on the GPU, PCI 5.0 on the M2) so I'm hoping that means might be updated too

            • @MrGareth: HWiNFO now shows "PCIe v5.0 x16 (32.0 GT/s) @ x16 (16.0 GT/s)" for my 5070Ti. I'm not sure if the "16 GT/s" is good, I'll have to do some more research to check but I suspect that it's running at PCIe 4.0 speeds. I don't have any issues with performance though (7800x3D and 5070Ti).

EDIT - GPU-Z and loading up the "render test" shows the Bus Interface as running "PCIe 16 5.0 @ x16 4.0". So it's running at PCIe 4.0 speeds.

              • @MrGareth: Did you update the bios?…also not "all board" have been updated to PCIe 5.0 on the GPU…. unless you plan to upgrade to a 5090 or 6090 in the future i wouldnt worry about it

          • +1

@vid_ghost: you see this article only came out recently. Gigabtye disabled pcie5 in in F35 BIOS.

            https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/motherboards/giga…

            • +1

@david6509: Gigabyte quietly disables Gen5 PCIe 5.0 GPU support on B650 motherboards in F35 BIOS update — Stay on F34 if you value the unofficial PCIe 5.0 support

Ok i was worried for a bit there as i upgraded to Bios F35 on my Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX ICE

just opened CPU-Z and my Graphics Interface is still PCI-Express 5.0 x16

              When i first upgraded to a bios that enabled PCI-5.0 CPU-Z changed from PCI-Express 4.0 x16 to 5.0 :)

It hasn't changed back so all good on the Gigabyte B650M AORUS at least.. not sure about other motherboards

              • @vid_ghost: i can confirm on the F36 bios for the B650M Aorus Elite that pcie5 has been removed from the drop down menu. Went back to F34 and it showed back up.

The CPU doesn't use much power so even these should be fine, no pcie 5 though

Good price on this. Agreed with vid ghost. I just nabbed this board and the klevv ram for my brothers new rebuild. 7600x and this pair rebuilding Sunday!

      • Asus TUF GAMING B650M-E ( i also have this board and it supports PCI-e 5.0 :)

        • +1

Just set this board up yesterday. Thanks Asus for not including all the files in the latest chipset driver download haha. I had to nab one from a few months earlier. Took me ages to work out why it wasn't installing heh.

Running well! 7600x out of the gate wanted to push 130w and 95 degrees lol. Pbo -20 and power limit of 95w dropped temps 20 degrees but maintained stock clocks (actually hit them more consistently than stoct settings!)

        • Does the KLEVV 32GB (2x16GB) KD5AGU880-60A300L work with the Asus TUF GAMING B650M-E motherboard? I couldnt see it on the compatability list.

I ended up ordering this board as ive got a 7900XTX Asus Tuff GPU. Going for a Lian Li DAN-A3 Build.

          • @david6509: KLEVV 32GB works great in many AM5 boards as its using Hynix chips… The MB QVL lists are only ram that they have tested their board with.. it doesn't mean much.. there has also been many bios updates over the years to improve this

      • I ended up having to return the Asus Tuff B650M for the Aorus Elite B650. The Asus board has the PCIE slot for the gpu in a lower position. This will cause issues in small cases with thick gpus. (Lian Li A3 and 7900XTX_

  • Anyone else get $52 GST added instead of $42 when adding to cart?
Can't work out how they get that amount?

    • +4

They calculate it based on pre-discount prices. It sucks.

      • +2

OK, was wondering what they meant in the popup box for the GST about that, but all I see is normal price $1015 save $589 so don't where they state this supposed $520 normal price.
Sounds like a bit of scam, charge $53 GST pocket $10 and send $42 on the actual sale to the gov.

        • +1

          100% this

  • Must hold and put money into a GPU…. Must hold…. Must … must

  • Can only see it as AU$417.67 after putting coupon code: AUAG50. Am I doing something wrong?

    • +3

Exchange rates are explained in the post.

  • +2

Wish the pre built stores here would use this as the benchmark price instead of whatever is on PCPP that has it as $620+

I should stop being lazy and just hunt around for bargains and build my own PC again.

Gray import stock is always cheaper VS local…

Gray import avoids things like Aussie business tax.. economy of scale ( china market is massive ) also wages in china are low so things need to be cheaper.

  • +1

Either this cpu 7800x3d or the i5 13600k.

The higher you climb arguing on the best you better buy a thread ripper CPU, nothing comes close to it.

But if you scale below anything above the 13600k intel is pain, and anything above the 7800x3d and below the thread ripper is just pain.

The 7800x3d a demon in gaming and certain tasks, and the 13600k becomes a swiss army knife,The i5 is really an i7 chip well balanced and scalable work horse while power efficient, both are probably the best for your bang for buck.

Best save the money for the GPU, if going for either these two CPUs.

  • Please talk me out of upgrading from 5700x3d when I game at 4k

It’s generally fine but the occasional micro stutter..

    • +4

Keep the 5700X3D and you don't need a new motherboard.

      • Could sell my current cpu/motherboard/ram for $400
So really would just cost new ram and mobo..

        • +4

do it dude, spend spend spend, and grab 5090 while ur at it.

    • +1

I mean need more details on your build. 5700x3d is an absolutely epic 4k cpu if its paired with the right hardware. 4k matters so so much less on the cpu compared to lower resolutions

      • I have a 9070xt red devil
Thinking might be better to upgrade this
But the 1% low improvement would be nice

        For 4K bf6

    • +1

Not needed mate. I'd be looking at the 9700x3d or later in your case

    • +1

absolutely not worth it, if 4K gaming is primarily what you do.

Save the money and pump it into a new GPU when you start to struggle at 4K

  • +2

Crazy the deal didn't last even 2.5hrs, sold out fast.

    • +2

its not sold out, its just gone up by around $50, in my cart atm for $452.07

      • +4

They would've had a certain number of units reserved for the special sale price. They have sold out so that's why the price went up.

  • +1

This is back in stock with same price.

    • +1

Showing up as US $281.95 (~$436 AUD) shipped using code AUAG50 for me

      • +1

        AU$452.07 now

Bought one a couple weeks now at 261 USD, arrived today only to find out its a dead CPU and doesn't work. Things a scam man.

    • Ah that sux.. .. i guess not every seller is legit

      • +5

Ok so turns out, this deal actually worked. I was just a big fool and didn't plug in all the cables I needed and all my issues were solved.

Feel free to downvote me for misinfo, but I needed to rectify my earlier statement.

    • Always vet the seller, make sure they have good feedback and have been around for at least 4-5 years.
