This deal is back for those who missed out last time and want to pickup a seriously good value Android tablet with good hardware at a lower price. While there is the 8GB/128GB variant and 12GB/256GB (UFS 4.0) variant on the same listing, I think 8GB/256GB sits in the middle with good value.

Edit: Promotional price out of stock. Next cheapest on the same listing is US $177.47.

Features include ZUI 16 (Android 14, updates until 2028), 12.7" 144Hz 2944x1840 LCD display with 400nits brightness, Widevine L1 DRM, 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage with microSD support, 8GB or 12GB RAM, 10200mAh battery with 45W fast charging, 4 JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 2 inbuilt mics, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint reader, WiFi 6 ax, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB-C 3.2 port with 4K@60Hz video out and pogo pins for a keyboard.

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate, GST inclusive and doesn't stack with TCB/SB/CR cashback.

To enable Google Play, go to Settings > App Management > 3 dots top right > Google Basic Services > Turn on.
Then download Google Play from the Application Center or sideload an apk yourself.

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

    Such good value.

  • how much is the 12Gb one

  • +1

Why are there so many different options that have the same description and different prices?

    • +2

Look at the pictures. Tablet only. Tablet and case. And Tablet, case and pen. It seems.

  • +2

Great tab. This looks like a pretty decent price on the pen too @ US$17.73 inc GST (~AU$27.60) before any discounts you might have.

  • Finally decided to buy this… And I get through to final page of payment, to find a pop-up saying:

"Sure you want to use this code? You'll lose $31.64 of discount" and the price had reverted back to $300, if I select "yes" or "no".

Think I'll give it a miss, yet again. Lol

Edit - on the 4th attempt it went through at $268, a little higher than OP's post but I didn't use a qualifying cc.

Maybe stupid question but are these safe to from AliExpress ?

    • Safe in what way?
      Happy with mine

      • It’s a risk buying off Aliexpress

Is the rom safe or does it have compromised apps or files, no different than Windows mini pcs having spyware installed in some cases

        • Yaa safe like
          Power
          Rom
          Security
          Warranty

          • +1

@morediscount: This is basically a Lenovo Idea Tab Pro. You can find information from many people on other sites about their experience with it. Some people like it. Some people don't like it. depends on your use case and if you can deal with its quirks, especially as this is the Chinese variant.

Power? No stories yet about issues with the battery safety.
ROM. Plenty of people have been using this device with no issues. It's a Chinese ROM though, so even if you uninstall the bloatware, Chinese will occasionally still appear at times. You could flash a clean install with a Global ROM instead, however this method is not for beginners.
Security. It's a Lenovo tablet, and the global variant is sold in US, Australia etc. Doubt they would be sold in retail stores like Officeworks if there were such concerns.
Warranty. It's Aliexpress. Read their T&Cs. Aliexpress are good with returns/refunds if it's damaged on arrival. However longer-term, don't expect much.

If you're asking all these questions about buying electronic device from Aliexpress, imo, I think you should not buy it. It's cheap, but if things go wrong, it can be headache to deal with. That's the risk you take for the cost value.
If you're using a tablet as a primary device, it is better to invest in the Samsung or Apple line-up which is a lot more expensive, but better supported (in terms of software, warranty and security). This is a value for money tablet, with decent specs, but it has a fair number of quirks, which isn't a dealbreaker but can be annoying for those used to a seamless iPad or Samsung tablet experience.

    • I mean, i bought my phone from Aliexpress, still going great. Just gotta do your research i guess.

  • +1

I can only seem to get it for $174 US.

    • Yeah same. I think the price has gone up since this was posted.

Still rocking the older OLED model, so don't need this anyway

  • Showing $170 US before discounts for me (not $162)

  • Happy with mine, takes some effort to get set up and clean of crap.

    • -2

Takes maybe 5 minutes if that and zero effort really.

      • No device takes 5 min for me. Weird keyboard, bloatweare, disabling all the apps you can't delete. I wouldn't buy one for an elderly parent without preparing it or assume an iPad user would think to look.

        I'm not in a rush.

    • It seems relatively easy to get Google services etc on it? Is there more to it? I am thinking about getting this for work - which is relatively IP heavy, do you think that this tablet is a security risk?

      • +1

It's not rocket science but takes time. Default keyboard needs replacing, recommend a different launcher, a lot of odd apps and some can't be removed easily. I went through every setting and app, clean the crap, now runs well.

It was noted my someone else before I got mine, I wouldn't do my banking on it.

The hardware is great, happy with it.

    • Cant get rid of chinese localisation and apps like duolingo does not work after latest zui update. Very disappointing.

      • +1

In the same boat. Switched to English but chinese pop-ups, search history, etc still there. Annoying.

        • Use microsoft launcher

        • Wack on somthing like nova

  • What pen/stylus could I use on this?

  • +11

I found this guide pretty helpful for getting rid of the bloat and making everything english:

    https://xdaforums.com/t/lenovo-legion-tab-y700-will-never-be…

Scroll down about 1/3 to where it says

"If you want a typical, western setup with Google Play and Google Services, and a much better keyboard, you can follow my detailed "fresh setup" guide below:"

Follow from there down and it will tell you how to do everything. Once done you would hardly know it's not an English native rom.

    • Thanks for sharing.

  • Sorry for the newbie question, what happens when the updates cease in a couple of years? Security wise also? Do you buy antivirus or something like it?

    • +4

In a couple of years you buy the lenovo xiaoxin pad pro 2028 for $260

    • If you dont use it for anything sensitive (Eg banking) there isnt a lot at risk. The OS should be fairly robust, exploits are more likely to work on new features than basic OS code but this is just conjecture.

      • Would you be using it now for any banking or IP at work?

        • Banking is a small but avoidable risk to your money.
Intellectual property would be a huge hack. I'm out of my element but most Comms are secured, if you're dealing with lives or feel your company could be targeted, prob require you to have authenticated devices anyways, I am.

          • @beeze: Thanks. Banking can be done elsewhere easily. IP should be ok, it's probably more a SharePoint/teams/OneDrive thing rather than anything else

            • @deed03: MS will have layers of protection and encryption, you're good.
I use my phone for banking, tablet is just for gaming and 2nd monitor duties and does both well.

        • Yea just general banking and basic emailing etc and media watching when working away from home and hand it down to kids in a couple of years

  • Any y700 deal

  • coupon not work. shows US194.11 for me.

  • anyone who has this already is 12GB needed or 8Gb fine?

    • I have this exact specs and 8gb feels sufficient in my experience. It's snappy even with split apps. Also plays smoothly with a game like wuthering waves on high settings as long as the temperature is in check. Responsiveness has been pretty comparable with the tab S9.

    • 8GB is fine. Honestly the best value deal rn, if you don't mind the C ROM. The Dimensity chip is no joke.

  • It shows 170.47 on the initial page and then 195 after tax in cart, minus 20 with the code comes to 175. Can't get the 165 price

  • Looks like the upped the price πŸ˜“πŸ˜“πŸ˜“

  • I bought 2 for the kids a few months ago, outstanding value, great battery, awesome screen. Absolutely recommend them.

  • Hopefully the next deal will be cheaper

  • Got it for 265 aud ! 8gb/256gb variant. Thanks OP for the post.

  • I just bought it at $165.71 shipped. So, is the deal back on?

I know I'm late, but heres an in-depth review of the Lenovo from an Aussies perspective, testing with Games, Emulation, Youtube, Netflix.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nz3xSP6CEA0

    • Thank you. What is your final thoughts considering the above review ignoring Android vs iOS debate. What is your perfective as the extra $185 spent on the iPad likely can be recovered by trading in or selling in Market Place

Most Australians are paying $200 more and getting the Apple iPad 11" A16 Wi-Fi 128GB
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/914095

      • iPad will last the distance, better support, warranty and general user experience. No need waste time setting it up.
Size-wise 11" is a lot easier to carry on the go than the 13" in my opinion.
13" can be a bit large for portability, but it's a nice size if eyesight is not so good, or as a second screen. If you're in Apple ecosystem already, get iPad. If you're someone who tends to upgrade devices to get the latest/greatest, or not sure you'll keep a tablet, then get the iPad so you can also resell. I'm an Android user, but iPads are the benchmark when it comes to the tablet experience. They're just at a price-range that's hard to justify for how often I'd use it.

I have this Lenovo tablet, and it fit my casual use case and budget. I don't want to spend that much as I don't find a tablet that important to me as I own a decent laptop with larger and better screen. I don't really need this, as I just got this as an entertainment device to take on trips and I have the luxury of time at the moment to fiddle around with it. I don't plan to resell it if I don't find much use for it… I'll just pass it onto a family member. Can add a keyboard and be a 'laptop' for my mum who only does casual browsing.

  • Anyone use this as a Google Home Hub replacement?
Are the mics good to hear voice commands with 'Hey Google'?

  • Really good tablet for the price.

  • I'm still hoping to snag one.. always late to the party or codes do not work for me..
