    Not really a bargain

  • Isn't this modem 4-6 years old?

    • +4

Yes, and it was a hunk of junk then.

    What are u kidding?

Wireless G, drop it to $10 if you want somebody to buy it.

  • I bought mine in 2005 (for about $99 if I remember correctly), it still works! So yes it is a pretty old unit.

  • +1

Maybe "unused", but certainly not "BRAND NEW"

    This is a joke… right?

    • +1

      I'm laughing

  • Wow.. I got one too.. maybe I should list mine for $20!… any bidders?…

  • I remember this. Got it YEARS ago. Hell I'd say more than 5? As mentioned, hunk of junk. Started playing up and didn't get any better.

  • What year are we at now?

  • Still got one of these antiques, pulled it out of the closet the other dat when my new one stopped syncing.
truly AWFUL to use, but will say it still works. but $40 doesnt seem a bargain to me

  • Go the GOAT

  • still using mine to this day —- i am getting more and more drop outs recently though but i dont know if its to blame or not

  • About 7-8 years ago this was my first Modem/Router. Still actually use it in bridge mode. But the WiFi in it is terrible, it tends to crash a lot with wireless clients.

  • Not such a great deal. For $76 you can get the D-Link DSL-2740BR ADSL2+ wireless N300 modem from Officeworks which is a far newer modem.

  • I've seen cheaper at an Op Shop.

  • poor deal

  • According to the eBay listing, it only supports ADSL out-of-the-box ("G.dmt, downstream: up to 8Mbps"), and then notes that ADSL2 and ADSL2+ require a firmware upgrade ("Firmware inside the DSL-G604T can be upgraded to support new DSL standards, including ADSL2, ADSL2+ and reach-extended ADSL2 (RE-ADSL2)…").

The listing doesn't specify the Revision of the G604T (A or B — rev C is a slightly different Generation II model), but the D-Link support page specifies that firmware version 2.0 or above is required for ADSL2/2+ support…

Way overpriced for a dated ADSL Wireless G Modem/Router that requires a firmware upgrade to support ADSL2/2+.

  • This is a severely outdated piece of junk. Just like a VN Commodore nowadays, the only time this would be a bargain was it was free.
