Dr Dre Studio Headphones $249 Free Delivery

100

Can't vouch for the quality of these headphones, but comparatively, the price is pretty good.

JB has the studio headphones for $399
http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/ipod-mp3-portables/headphones…

Harvey for $367
http://www.harveynorman.com.au/beats-by-dr-dre-studio-headph…

For under $250 delivered and 12 months warranty, seems like a good price.

Spend an extra $50 and get these from audiophonic (if you are from WA) or even if you want an Australian distributor.

Beats the absolute crap out of beats in every aspect.

    • +3

not in every aspect…Beats look better(i'm not a beats fanboy) that's why most teenagers want them(i'm not a teenager) :D

      • +11

Beats are a great look if you are going for the "I have no idea what decent audio sounds like, but I want to let people know I spend a lot of money on my headphones" look.

Something looks better because Teenagers want them… thats like saying Justin Bieber is the epitome of music because teenage girls want to listen to him.

        • -6

this is a post about Beats and the price is good so IMHO it deserves a +
Read my comment again and don't be so defensive and one-sided: i never said it looks better because teenagers want it, i wrote exactly the opposite!
and I'm not saying that ONLY teenagers want them, I like Beats looks more than the item you posted, simple as that!
when i listen to my flac collection with my valve amplifier i make sure i use much better headphones than the ones you posted, but when i go out for jogging, my $5 earphones from ozb are perfect for youtube music, mp3 and internet radio sound quality

        • bad troll.

        • NVM …

        • +4

I don't think apple earphones are much of a sound quality basis. It all depends on what you are using the headphones for.

Beats are for people who care more about a fashion statement then sound quality, they will be better than most $20 pairs but don't hold up against your high end headphones that cost around the same amount of money.

So there's a simple way to work out what to use.

          • Don't want to spend much money, don't care about sound quality - apple earphones

          • Want amazing sound quality and don't want to spend the earth - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/102393 (or wait for a similar deal for a different set)

          • Want reasonable sound quality (too much bass) but care more about what people see on my head - Get beats (or souls)

        • GregFiona: Was referring to muncan.

        • I'm sorry Modokun, i missed that comment, that's why i've edited

        • +1

Next time I'll keep my beats off and my mouth shut.

        • trolling, or are you actually not aware that all of your headphones are terrible.
beats are better than apple earbuds, but that's mostly because apple earbuds are terrible.

        • I'm aware that free headphones are good enough for me. Keeping my mouth shut from…. now.

        • Yes, they're better than the worst thing in the world, but they aren't worth anywhere near $250.

    • so true!

    • +3

but those arent recommended by a Dr ;)

    • Sorry… it's headphonic.

  • Would a price match at OW work on these ? $299

This guy likes to promote his own posts haha

      • +1

It's not promoting his own post. The above are extremely high quality, beautiful headphones. Way better than Beats, and are more than half the price.

Audio Technica have an amazing reputation. Clearly why this deal received 278+ and hundreds of sold headphones, just look at the comments of how amazing the quality really is.

        • -1

I always thought the beats studio is actually superior in quality to the ath M50 but the beats solo was lower than the m50's. Studio's are fairly high end. studio's compare to the a900x honestly.

M50's still beat Studio for sound.

    • +2

Yeah sorry, I'm not doing it to promote my own post, what would I gain from this? Not trying to do that. They are just an extremely popular pair of headphones for less than half the price. But, I guess anyone wanting Beats will just buy Beats in the end.

      • -1

Jeez it was a joke…I click on your link, see that it was your own post so I made a lighthearted remark. Not sure why everyone is so serious these days but if you were offended, I offer you my deepest heartfelt apology

  • +2

While not "audiophile", these headphones are a lot of fun. Think max bass and max trebble. Sounds like you are in a club or car with a decent system. Again, they are fun. If you are after hearing every single pop and whistle the producer put in the song, these aren't for you. Buy one of the pairs recommended above.

  • Beats posts bring out the haters

  • Are these headphones any good? Seems abit overpriced though.

    • +3

They do have beats tax on them. At the end of the day, the best headphones are the ones that sound right to your ears. Everyone can rate a headphone as "the best" but if they don't sound right to you, then you won't use them. The right headphone is the one you pick up time and time again.

Anyone who pays $249 or $299 or $400 for head phones has too much money and doesnt need the bargain IMHO! got an awesome set of phillips off here for $4 worth $60 thats good enough for me :)

  • Waiting out for the new "Beats by Chris Brown" in purple…

  • Most likely fake.

    • +1

I know a number of people who have purchased Beats from Kogan previously and they were 100% legit.

Having said that, I can't recommend the M50s highly enough. Excellent sound and great value.

Beats look good, are very comfortable, and despite what some say they even sound good. But they don't sound anywhere near as good as other headphones that can be had for a MUCH lower price(See M50).

      • -1

Rubbish. There is no way you or your friends would know if they're fakes or legit. The high quality fakes sound near identical, look identical and have working serial numbers (ie. register online) under the battery cover.

        • Calm down PT.

If they sound identical, look identical and most importantly have a working serial number surely they must "most likely [not be] fake".

My 100% is based on the serial number and this:

          http://www.avsforum.com/t/1245642/fake-monster-beats-studio-…

          However caution is always advisable.

Food for thought though is that everything else Kogan stock is legit.

And they passed every other test my friends put them to.

Edit: Ozbargainers, be advised that the AVS article is old, but you get the idea. To the extent that they can be verified, they were.

        • +1

For whatever reason, Beats to PainToad is like a red target to a bull. I'm not entirely sure why.

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89815

        • I heard the fake ones actually sound better lol

        • My fake pair matches all those "tests" too. My rage comes when scum try to sell $99 fake headphones for $249. Beats are also very fragile, so warranty claims are important, though not if your spending $99.

        • Fair enough PT and fair warning to Ozbargainers that are in the market for a pair.

But I think one of the most persuasive bits of evidence that they're legit is that it comes from Kogan (and despite any other failings they might have) they only stock genuine products (and at much less than Aus retail).

For what it's worth, I think they're genuine and $100-$150 cheaper than you can get them elsewhere.

        • nope i believe it cant happen
the sound quality of the original is "0" so if the fake ones sounds 2 times better it should be 2*0="0" again
so they should sound similar -.-

        • -2

Personally I wouldn't trust anything Kogan publish.

        • Reason? I haven't seen anything that would suggest that Kogan sell non geniune items. This isn't including the similar looking knock offs that even Kmart sell, I'm talking about big name brand products (phones/headphones ect.)

        • Including Apple knockoff accessories? eg. iPad Smart Cover by Kogan? Or are you including these gimmicks in the Kmart reference?

        • ps. that Smart Cover is crap, please don't buy it at $9. Especially not at $25.

        • Yes there are generic smart covers, headphones and other things that look similar to name brand products. I thought that it was obvious that this is about fake beats.

          http://m.aliexpress.com/item/708480576.html?tracelog=wwwdeta…

          /\ Like these ones.

        • Oh crap, I was supposed to be keeping my mouth shut in this thread.

        • @rekabkram, reason being it's Kogan and I don't trust a single thing that guy says or sells. That's my personal opinion, which is why I didn't neg the deal.
