According to this, they will be rotating the deals throughout the day (800 SKUs with total quantity of 40,000) to cover a bunch of other products too. Check back whenever you can to see if theres anything new!

They have pushed out another list of more items! It does verify the theory that the initial page was for DX AU deliveries whilst this is the International 50% off section. Please be aware that there will be longer delivery times for this since it needs to be shipped directly from China as opposed to the DX AU (which apparently has warehouse in Perth).

Update 3:
Offer is pretty much officially "Ozbargained" with the only remaining stock to be either very specialist products (Spare battery for product x), Seasonal products (Christmas), or stuff that not many people want. The only thing I am hoping for is that they can fulfill all orders so everyone is happy.

DX has subtly stated however, (Broken English) "If the customers who participate in this activity are more than expected which results in lack of product supply, we have to process refund for the oversold items, please kindly understand." which may account for some people's Paypals reported refunded against.

Update 4:

Have to apologise in advance to anyone who doesnt get the stock for this deal. Despite being the OP and putting the order through before others, I have now received a cancellation against my two orders (W8 and PD10). It is seemingly like a lottery to get stock. Very very disappointed. :(

Update 5:

After a disappointing weekend, DX has now come back to affected customers with a voucher that's worth 15% of the original total order. So, if your order was $200, then they will give you back $30 worth as a rebate in compensation to be used in DX. Apparently the stock is still available - but not it has changed to a different SKU but they are offering 15% off the original price. This is pretty beneficial if your original order was expensive (and hence you can get back a higher rebate value) - but typically most would only have done a $200 order with $30 rebated.

As you can see, the deal is nowhere near as good as before. However, it is up to you as an individual to see if it is still good value enough to continue making the purchases.

    • They got banned because their reps were sockpuppetting or spamming the site with new accounts. Can't remember which.

      Normally I don't complain about chinese companies making a blunder or stuffing up with customer service but DealExtreme just takes the cake. Sudden order cancellation with a 5 day wait for a refund, and no apology email.

  • In addition to the two tablet I ordered, they even cancelled my orders for a monopod and tripod and HUION USB Graphics Drawing Tablet. Did anyone get any items shipped from this sale?

  • I just cancelled the Euro adapter plug that I ordered after the PD80HD and the $1.50 was immediately credited back to PayPal. I have opened a dispute with PayPal stating that I believe the seller never had the stock and this was a fraudulent offer by the seller to gain access to buyer's funds for short term gain. Maybe if they get enough complaints they will do something - then again, they are likely making money from these deals as well so we get stuck with the short end of the stick as usual.

    FFS I was really looking forward to getting my phone and it was cancelled… I was probably the 3rd person on Ozbargain to order a phone. I was in on the deal in the first 3mins, there was NO WAY it was ozbargained at that point. Deal Extreme are full of shit. I'm never buying a thing from them again.

      • THere is a chance that if you ordered the items with the International Sale (UTC 2am) then your order may be safe. I have a very high suspicion that they honoured the International Sale over the Australian sale.

        • What about the stuff that belonged in the Direct Aussie warehouse section? It would've cost them more to ship the stuff overseas than to ship them locally to their respective Australian buyers.

          Its more likely they actually killed the promotion for Australians because the stuff that sold here usually has less of a margin due to higher shipping and inventory costs.

        I don't think so, nobody gets their AU DIRECT order shipped. I think all have been cancelled.

        • If the International and AU stock came from the same stockpile and because AU's already sold out on the stock even before the International sale even started (where it was advertised for use world wide). Then they would put a preference to fulfill International over AU despite the orders being earlier. It would explain that they counted the orders for AU much later than the rest.

          Just a hypothesis.. But it does fit pretty well with all the info we know thus far.

    Burnt by dx but still gonna end up using them anyway - as I have been for years now. Haven't got much else of a choice, they do have the range and the price advantage. If you get served a big mac with some mouldy cheese in it, you'd still go back to maccas at a later stage anyway wouldn't you? Dx have gotten big and powerful and they know this too. :/

        • I ordered just after midnight but got the stupid Paypal account + ID check like the next day. Seems that allowed other who had existing DX accounts who ordered after me to get priority access to those items.

          That was a DX issue. There was no indication when I paypalled for the stuff that they needed more proof. Anybody taking this up with Paypal may want to indicate they've screwed ppl over who got in early because of their ID process, which the customer has no control over.

          Sadly no 50% tablet or phone for me. Just an annoying "Lee" at DX's chat site telling me "It's sold out / out of stock / order is already cancelled and can't be reinstated". He's happy to tell me "stock keeps arriving" and "you can order later". I get silence when asking "what 50% coupon do I use?". Asking about speaking to the manager gets a "come back on Monday".

          I want to neg— this deal. Wasted many hours on this with result being frustration and disappointment. Great for DX staff.. they've getting free English lessons from native English speakers and have earned interest from my payment. Now how much can I charge them for that?

    If you want to make sure DX does not repeat this again, OPEN A PAYPAL DISPUTE with them. Even if they promise a refund. Every paypal dispute with the same business will draw paypal's attention to the business and may result in them no longer wanting to do business with them.

  • I've never done a credit card chargeback before. Is it generally quicker to use the chargeback, or wait for DX to use my money, and then they decide when to refund me.

      If you're feeling vindictive- credit card chargebacks usually cost the merchant a significant amount of money in penalty. Paypal is $20-25 while credit cards can go up to $100 per chargeback.

        • You have to use PayPal. A credit card chargeback would technically penalize Paypal since they take your credit card money.

    Hmm my order is sitting in payment processed… guessed I'm expecting for a cancel.

    As soon as I get cancel I will do chargeback to make sure dx loose more money than they gain.
    Then I will open ACCC ticket.

    • The ACCC has no precedence over Deal Extreme since they dont have a real presence in this country. They can advise against purchasing to consumers and at worst ask ISP's to shut down their DNS records. But they really have no power outside of this country.

    I just realized that when you tilt your head to the right and stare at DX you can actually see what your face looked like when you discovered your order was cancelled.

    • Um, DX is banned and has been for a while. It was only exempted for this one deal. Contacting the mods or starting a thread is much more effective than starting a change petition looking for 100 signatures.

  • I did 2 orders. Just logged on to site to see both state cancelled.
    Received no email from them about either.
    Both were paypal, one funds from cc, other bank account.
