  • Free money :)

  • So I will make $10 if I bought this?

  • I find it very suspicious that you get paid to use antivirus. I wouldn't be surprised if countries use antivirus software as a cover for spying on people.

so…you reckon we should charge $10 more to make it a decent & legitimate deal?

I'm very inclined to do so :).

I think the "RRP $999.00" and "SAVE $200.00 (20%)" statements for the GTX 780 are misleading and potentially in breach of the Australian Consumer Law.

I thought the RRP was $649 USD.

    • We are not putting US RRP on our site as we sell things using AUD. However, i have removed the RRP as it seemed a sensitive word to some.

      Cheers

Fair enough. Where could I find/doublecheck the Australian RRP? $999, as previously advertised, appears somewhat excessive

I do appreciate there is FREE eparcel + insurance.

        • Our lister usually copy RRP from information provided by manufacturer/supplier's website. As the prices on this deal is at our best, a FREE eparcel + insurance is not possible for the video card.

          Kind Regards
          SE

        • Well the website is currently giving me Free eparcel + insurance!

fixed the shipping charges - due to you being the person that help me spot this issue, i am giving you the exclusivity of Free Shipping on the GTX 780 video card. PM me your registered user name so I can send you a free shipping promotion code if you decide to go for the card.

          Cheers
          SE

        • good one! ;)

        • Thank you, it's much appreciated! I will have to plan a budget for the card tonight and will send you a pm afterwards.

When does the deal for the GTX780 expire?

          cheers

        • you need to make decision quick - as we only have limited stock available and if we sold out, i can't send you one.

          Cheers

RRP is stipulated by the Australian distributors (and there are quite a few depending on which supplier they use).

As an example here are Altech's RRP's for the GTX 780:
      http://www.altech.com.au/displayproduct.aspx?search=GTX+780

Prices range from $899 - $999 inc gst.

While I hate the use of over inflated RRP's, ShoppingExpress is just stating the RRP set by the supplier which would be neither misleading or illegal.

      • Thanks Cobalt. that makes sense.

It's sad we have to pay so much more than the US :/

        • Yeah the discrepancies between Australia and the US really aren't fair. All the stuff is manufactured in Taiwan or China which is just a stone's throw away from us. So while we don't have the volume that the US does, there should definitely be a cost savings in freighting it here.

I remember when the GTX 680/670 came out it was still $150-$200 cheaper in the US compared to Australia.

Thank goodness for Amazon and 28 Degrees is all I can say :)

        • Cobalt_ I had some questions for you if you don't mind, but I see you don't accept private messages on ozbargain. Is there any way I could private message you?

          Cheers

      • thanks Cobalt - appreciate it!

    • By law, you are not allowed to advertise savings based on RRP. You are only allowed to list savings based on your normal selling price, which when audited, you must prove you have sold products at the normal listed price.

  • Is there any limit to number of cashbacks you can claim or Trend Micro's ShoppingExpress will ship (Trend Micro T&Cs are unavailable). Not planning to broden it, but would be good to know if it works for 2.

    • According to Terms & Conditions:

Multiple purchase permitted. 1 product = 1 Claim & all claims need to follow the claiming procedure on the terms & condition page.

      • Just to confirm, if we had previously claim from previous offer we are still eligible, yes?

      • Interesting. So I could order (say) 100 from you and make $1000? Not bad for a days work

        • It would take 10 mins or so to activate each one and claim the cashback. So it would be 16 hours worth of work. Still not that bad.

  • +1

thanks SE. getting this.. 3rd time cashback from TM.

    • How long does it typically take?

      • my 1st and 2nd claims got approved within 1-2 working days.
and then 2-3 weeks you'll get it in your bank account.

        • Cool, nice and quick, some cashback offers can take months. What format have you uploaded invoices in for previous offers with TM, what has worked so far for you?

Also, did you have to install and register as per the instructions above? I'd prefer to skip this part if possible ;)

        • I uploaded the tax invoice that is attached on the order email from SE. It's pdf.

      • Swingin' to the left, And swingin' to the right
        If I think about baseball, I'll swing all night {yeah}

    • lol…thanks mate, you must be pretty veteran at the cash back process now :P

  • What's the fee for subsequent years for the Trend Micro?

    • Renew can be done by simply buying new copy, or via Trend Micro website:
      http://shop.trendmicro.com.au/titanium-internet-security-ren…

Of course, we will be constantly offering great deals on Trend Micro software to provide the best offer for everyone.

    • You can just buy more of these from anywhere when you're about to expire and use the code from that box for your own.

So normally without specials it would cost $50-$78 depending on the store. But if they have another cashback offer it'll be something like $-10 to $28.

  • So do we have to Install the product and register it online with the KEY ? I do not plan to use this right away.

    • You have 30 days from invoice date to submit your claim - so you need to install and register within that time frame.

  • If you're worried about installing this software (spyware etc) just install on a VM, claim cash, delete VM

    • Why would you get malware from a reputable antivirus?

But yeah, if you already have internet security and don't want to switch you can just do the VM way.

  • +1

    Thanks :)

  • Do u have a Mac version as well?
Or is this compatible with Mac?

  • If I "buy" and activate a new copy of Trend Micro, does the new activation extend my current subscription or replace it?

  • Thanks buddy, so usually how long does the shipping take?

    • +1

We should be dispatching all orders from yesterday by today.

Estimated time needed for delivery from courier:

      VIC 2-5 business days
      QLD 2-5 business days

      WA 3-6 business days
      NT 4-6 business days

      Kind Regards

  • In the retail cash back form, when choosing 'store purchased from: others', another list 'please specify store' comes out and what should i put for that?

    • +1

I don't get another combo box list, I get "*Please specify store:" where I can type the store name. Check again?

      • lol yr right, so i just type in 'shopping express' for that then?

        • Yes that is corret.

        • edit: Yes that is correct.

  • I finally fell for this. I need a decent AV program for my home PCs so hoping this one does the trick. I've never used it before so does anyone know how it goes on system resources?

  • Ordered mine only for the fact that I will be $10 richer.

Already own this product and it's coming up for renewal on 1 July so it's great timing.

    Cheers OP.

  • Hi Rep, is Trend Micro 3 User out of stock?

    • Hi eleana,

        • ….. deal's been up since 29-5-13 and are still IN STOCK at the time that you've voted….

        • Yes, I voted it but didn't buy it straight away. I was busy doing something else, totally forgot it last night.

        • +1

        • +1

          You guys rock! It's a shame I can't double +.

        • +1
