        No they are not, you just have to declare them, if the value of the good is less than $900 per adult($450 for under 18), you dont have to pay anything. You only have to pay GST if you bring back more than $900. And they will only fine you if you bring out/back excessive amount with out declaring.
        This phone is <$700 so you can do what ever you want with it.

        • The TOURIST Refund Scheme = TRS. Don't know too many people who wouldnt spend manother $200 while overseas.

  • Have they indicated how long it would be before stock comes in? I thought supply was limited with these phones? Dick will be laughing all the way to the bank.

    • I was told one is coming in today. Otherwise more within the week.

      • ETA on website says unavailable. The store I talked to said it could be 2 weeks.

        Your order is awaiting action at the warehouse. Once invoiced it can take 3-5 working days to deliver. We had a large volume of orders, so worst case if you missed this allocation, the nest delivery of this product is on the 10/6/13.

  • I received my invoice today and it only listed the phone and freight items; no mention of the headphones. Anyone have the same list in their invoice? I hope I don't have to chase them up for the headphones.

    On a positive note, this means I just need to show the phone for TRS claim instead of both phone and headphones; because I too am planning to sell the headphones and wasn't looking forward to bringing another box out of the country and back again.

    • I have received the invoice as well, same as you, no headphone listed in the invoice. should receive the phone tomorrow morning and see how it goes. perhaps need to chase them up to send the headphone to me later.

    • I was worried about that exact thing and decided to go in-store and buy it.
      However the flipside to that is, i cant see any transparency on stock.
      "ohh we dont have stock, call us wednesday" and "ohh it should now be here by end of week"

      However i do see the beast on my invioce.

      • When you checked-out and made the payment, did you see the headphone list in your order summary? For me it was not……

        • headphone was not in the list at check out. However having said that, when the deal was first posted on OZBargain, I did add the phone to cart and the headphones was listed; subsequent attempts the next day (after doing research), the headphones was no longer being added to cart. User 'Spot2001' called DickSmith support line to confirm the headphones will be included…. fingers crossed

        • Received confirmation email from DSE online sales support team the headphones will be included :-)

Just sent them a email regarding the issue since I think they need some evidence to prove so sent them with a copy of invoice. Really need to settle the thing ASAP otherwise cant open the box to try my new gadget……

  • Received the Phone after ordering on Monday, did not receive the headphones.
    Called DSE online 1300 366 644 and they arranged it for me.
    He himself didn't know why it wasn't sent with the device but he had it arrange so it will be delivered by early next week.

    • So does that mean we all need to call them separately?

      Seems poorly organised to me.

      • not too sure, but I agree with you on the organisation aspect.

        I'd just give them a call, only took 2 minutes of my time, but then again 2 minutes which I shouldn't of happened in the first place.

  • I called them after not receiving my headphones and they told me it could take a few weeks until I get them, oh and i did not receive an invoice

    • I just called up, and spent 20 mins talking to someone who, while was well-meaning, was very slow and inefficient. He has raised a query regarding the headphones for me.

        • You should call. They had no idea about the missing headphones until I called them up on it. Quite likely that they think all is well with your order also.

        • I called today after sending 2 emails with no reply. They said they are on backorder (the warehouse is out of stock despite the website saying that they are in stock). Reckoned that it would take another couple of weeks but they would send an email when they are in. Given their communication to date, I doubt that.

        • Wow, that really sucks. I was hoping to take the headphones on a big international trip next week.

        • Got mine last Friday in red. I was lucky since the guy put an order through for red headphones since the black one was on backorder.

    • Yep, this is the most pathetic service. I have called 6 times emailed twice, the last two times I called a message was taken for a "specialist" - aka I had gone through to a foreign overflow call centre. Still no callback. Absolutely stupid.

      • called DSE again today and got someone in AU. He (Matthew) said the stock status on DSE website for the headphones does not match what they have in their inventory and DSE is waiting for shipment of heaphones to arrive.

        So fingers crossed we'll see something happening soon.

        • Nearly 2 months and still nothing? This is a complete joke.

        • After all those phone calls and emails etc they sent me two blank invoices (as in 0KB) and finally dispatched something yesterday. I'm out of town though so not sure what it is…. hopefully a pair of black beats…

          Up to 9 phone calls and 5 messages with no callback now.

          Donkeys shan't get another cent out of me.

  • Received item dispatched email today with tracking number.

    Update: it was the old tracking number for the phone…. Sigh… Have to keep asking again.
