  • What's the definition of 'Mono Laser Printer'? Does it simply mean no colour, toner only?

    • +3

      yeah, only black printing.

  • Aftermarket toner from less than twenty bucks on eBay. This truly is a nice bargain! Cost of ownership for laser printers is pretty much always MUCH lower than inkjets.

Just bought one, needed a cheapo printer at home to print out airline tix and discount vouchers :)

  • good price

    2 important questions
    1. does it come with full toner?
    2. toner replacement cost.

  • Is anyone aware of any deals for a wireless laser printer?

  • Good bargain. Was keen but this particular printer isn't supported by my Synology NAS print server

  • Brother HL-2132 is at officeworks for 49 … not sure if thats really any better though.

  • Taken from http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/61463

the HL-2132 is just the exclusive version of the HL-2130 to prevent pricematching, the cheaper HL-2130s would actually be the deal.
The HL-2132 is the HL-2130, just that OW wanted to prevent pricematching and got Brother to give it a different model number just for them.

Sneaky of these retailers to avoid their price matching policy obligations. Make the manufacturer rebadge the model number and pretend it's a different printer.

  • This printer has been $44 at Dick Smith for weeks and weeks and only just got posted on Ozbargain?. Like i remember seeing it there for $44 a month ago. wow

  • Can anyone recommend a colour laser printer?

  • We have just purchased this Printer and have taken it back once already for a new one but we still have the problem.

The printer has a trouble printing on envelopes. They take forever to come out and when they do they are all crinkled.

No idea why this model does it, we had a Brother HL-2040 before and it had no problems with envelopes.

Guess ill be taking it back for a refund.

    • I've had an old HP and an old Canon laser printer that both print great on envelopes.

My current one is a Samsung and since it lacks a pass through feature, envelopes definitely come out wrinkled - quite a bit. I don't know if this Brother has a pass through function.

Suffice to say, some printers are just crap at loading folded paper. :( (It really is my only gripe about my current Multifunction printer.

  • Still no PayPal

    almost neg worthy

    • I heard Dick Smith couldn't get Paypal to integrate with their new web site so they shut the Paypal access down.
