Hi guys n girls,

Sorry, there's no information available on the website right now, but I saw a big banner being displayed in a jb hifi store tonight (didn't take a picture, sorry again!). I'm assuming this started as part of the sale going tonight, and I don't know how long it will run for. Maybe be quick if you want it and you think it's a good deal?

Looks like if you sign up to any Telstra no lock in plan (i think they start off at a minimum of $60), you can buy the HTC 8x outright for only $149 as part of the plan. JB is selling these outright at $504

Good price for a seemingly popular phone here on OzB.

I'm guessing from their website, only blue is available and I'm also guessing that it will have Telstra software loaded onto it (feel free to confirm this or report otherwise!)

          No. My service was put on the same bill my other services are on. So I have to pay the 1 days usage.

      The best way to find out is to walk in your local JB store and ask.They can check on their terminals the stock in every other store and if available have it sent to their store for you to pick up, that's how I got mine(but you have to pay and activate the card upfront)

      I went into Sydney CBD today; nobody had stock, unless I wanted to go over the bridge to Chatswood, Ryde, Central Coast… or Cairns

          I have found every type of app possible for my needs and the marketplace is becoming more diverse and populated over time.
          Install "app of the day" to get a daily freebie too.

    I had chat with JB Hi-fi team at Belconnen, ACT yesterday enquiring about this deal. They told me that promotion ended on 06 August 2013. They even showed their internal email stating that this promotion ends on COB today as on 06 August 2013. All JB Hi-Fi stores should have or will soon receive new stock on Telstra plan.

        I don't think so.
        JB Hi-Fi staff was offering me same handset for $502 outright or $60 monthly plan for 24 months. I told him, both the options are absurd for this phone, especially when I have seen this phone sold for $149 with $60 no lock in contract.

          thanks. I bought mine on the 27/07 and cancelled 2 hours later but still no bills…
          Update: i've finished chatting on Testra live chat, gave them the cancelling request reference no. and the billing account of the contract i had signed and cancelled and they said there is nothing to pay, no pending bills and no pro rata fees…That sounds very strange, I guess I'll just have to wait till one month passes and see…

    I haven't received a bill as I asked them to transition the service to prepaid on the same day.
