  • this sounds awesome and doable.

    • That's until Three start wondering how a single user could refer a hundred others from all over Australia :P

      • No, I can only refer up to 10 friends at a time

        • Ahh okay. In that case, it would be good for those who take up this offer to give back and offer their details so others can get the $25 referral credit.

  • gosh!

  • Hey all, I am thinking of switching to 3, and unfortunately my current phone is not 3G compatible :( which means I need to get a new handset from 3. But as I comparing the plan between the pre-paid $29 cap and the regular $29 plan which requires 2 year contract, why is it that the pre-paid cap gives you upto 150MB of data access, but not the post-paid $29 plan?

If I were to sign of to this pre-paid $29 cap, which phone should I get? or is that another place with a better price to get buy the handset than directly from 3?

  • Hi there, I am already with 3 on $29 cap (24 months contract). Am I still eligible for this offer as I wont mind getting another SIM? and if yes, am I eligible for referal credit as well?

    • Yes for the offer. No for the referral credit.

      • Thanks Steven, so does that mean I dont need to wait till Sudney as I wont be getting referral credit? and as you mentioned, i will be eligible for $64 cash back scheme as well?

  • Voting this down, because I'm sick of how Three never actually has the detailed inclusions or terms and conditions on their website.

Example: Liked site says "Choose how to use your Cap - calls, SMS or Mobile Internet". I can guarantee they'll slap you for $1.65/MB over and above your cap if you stray outside a "Three Broadband Zone" — even though it's not actually written anywhere that page (or the linked T&C).

This sounds fantastic - 3 just announced that they now do roaming onto Telstra's NextG network, and I was interested to get exactly this plan to test out how the coverage works around my house and trip to work to make sure I wasn't going to roam unnecessarily during normal use.

Nice to have the backup of extended NextG coverage for long trips though, even if they do slug you with 50c per MB for data - probably worth it for the free extended phone/sms cover.

Will definitely give this a go, thanks Steven823 and everyone else who's offered a referral!

  • hey Steven could you find a detailed Terms and Conditions of that plan, and links it to us to it. That would be awesome thx shane.

    • Terms and Conditions are available at the checkout.

  • Couldnt find the "3 mobile $24" deal in the moneybackco website. Only found "3 mobile $64" cap plan. But that is only with plan refund. Where is the one you are referring to???

    • It has changed to $64 cashback for every online sale of the $29 Cap Plan.

  • One more thing - I'm pretty sure that when you sign up for that "Sim Free" plan on the $29 cap, you actually get another $5 credit per month since you've brought your own mobile (it's $10 credit for the 49 cap and above).

So actually I believe for this deal where you'll have $125 free credit, you can get 5 months of free usage @ $24 per month if you don't exceed the cap and still have $5 to spare.

I was actually just in the 3 store asking about this plan with a BYO mobile on Thursday and that was the answer I got.

I just gave 3 Customer Care a call to clarify about the $100 credit offer. I was told that the code specifically states that the credit will be applied on my first bill so I have to use up all the $29 cap limit plus $100 credit worth of calls on my first month. From the 2nd month onwards, the account will revert back to the normal $29 cap, the $100 credit will not be rolled out to subsequent months even if I did not go over my $29 cap limit on my 1st month.
He also suggested that I take up the Internet offer of $5 credit (for $29 cap) or $10 credit (for $49 cap) every month because that would reduce the amount I will need to pay ie: $24 instead of $29/month
So what I got out of it is we can only have a maximum of $29 cap+$100 code +$25 referral to use on the 1st month only after which a minimum payment of $29/month is required unless we cancel the contract
Does anyone have any ideas whether the $100 credit will be rolled out?
Just need a confirmation from someone that has used the $100 code on any of their 3 contract

    • +2

Nonsense. The credit will be applied during the first month and brought forward to the subsequent months. Where there is a huge potential of viewers able to read your post, please DISREGARD MrHappy's comment as it is simply untrue I can testify that the credit WILL BE rolled over.

  • Ricochet: The $5/$10 credit disappears when you add any new $100 codes in. I guess it's an either or choice
They've fixed it now so no more credit on top of credit

  • I think you only get 7.5% of the $29 cap as stated on the MoneyCo website instaed of $24

  • +1

Im happy to get $25 off you and my bill, mail to [email protected] to get a code. thanks

  • Thanks mrhappy.

I guess even if this is just a one month trial with $125 to use up and the opportunity to credit another 3 member with $25 and potentially get a little money back from MoneyCo then it's still a good deal if you wanted to test out 3's service. Seems like a win all round really

    • Mrhappy was wrong, the credit will be rolled over.

  • Nazrath: It was just simply what I was told by the 3 operator. I was just passing on the info because I don't want anyone to get into troubles with their subsequent bills and come back to blame Stenven823 for posting this . I didn't mean to lie to anyone. If you can testify this, then it's good for everyone then. I would assume you have applied the $100 code before and the credit was rolled over

  • Steven823: The 3 operator whom I talked to was wrong. I was just waiting for someone to confirm that the credit will be rolled over. Thanks

  • No problems. Just edit your post so potential members won't be influenced by your incorrect informations.

  • Steven823: why "Please DO NOT sign up until Sunday or the referral codes won’t work."

    • Hmm, maybe because the referral codes won't work until Sunday???… :P

      • I think so. So you can buy the sim card today and sign up for the 25 dollars on monday with the referral code.lol

    • Because I have sent 10 referral code to my own email yesterday, and referral codes will only work after 1 working day after the date the referral code is sent.

  • What happens if you dont have a credit card/bank card and cant order this online

    • As long as you have a bank account, you can order this offer online.

      • I dont really see the point since the order is free LOL

        • When you are signing up online, you will have to enter your credit card or bank account details to setup Direct Debit, as you have $100 credit on your account, they will not debit your credit card or bank account until the credit are used up.

  • VERY GOOD DEAL
    FREE 4 MONTH USAGE
    THANK STEVEN

  • happy to do any referring if others run out

  • +3

It might be a good idea for those who are offering their referral services to disguise their email addresses, as there is a risk your email address may get added to a spamlist if a spambot happens to trawl through OzBargain.

For example, [email protected] could be disguised as name[at]domain.com or name[@]domain.com and so on.

You will not be charged for any extra if you are only making calls, sending SMS and MMS while you are outside the "three broadband zone"

  • do u still get the cash back if u go thru buckscoop?
as they don't have the $10 annual fee like MBC

    • They don't seem to have this offer

  • i was reading the referring term and cond.
the bit which reads, excludes USIM- only connections.
so does that mean neither would get refer credit?

(sry don't know how to bold text)

Referee means a person who receives a Personal Referral Invitation or a Business Referral Invitation and who:

    1. following a credit check (if applicable), is connected to at least one:
      1. post-paid cap or plan over 12 or 24 months under either a single Personal Account or single Business Account; or
      2. pre-paid plan under a single Personal Account ~~(Excludes USIM-only connections.~~~~ Pre-paid services not available under a Business Account);
    • +1

oh…even if we don't get the $25 referral credit, we still get the $100 credit.

  • hmm…. bit confused… using the promo code gives you $100 + $25 referral + $64 cashback so isn't it a saving of $189….. cud ny1 help..

    • I have the same confusion as you, but my accounting is $100+$25+$64-(moneyback charge annual fee). Plus you can save $5 on $29 cap fee each month (bcz you order online).

But I can not find anything about that 100 promote offer on 3 website. How can people know this offer?

      • $64 through moneyback is only available for those that sign up with a contract.

        • It says $64 moneyback for every online sale of the $29 Cap Plan. I already had mine on my transactions record with $64 moneyback.

  • I've got a question, how can I get the 64 dollars cash back?
    somebody help me! please!

  • im happy to help with any referrals too!!
message me at faded_skies527 at hotmail dot com
:):) will send you referral codes!!

  • I gonna get a insane charge of $300 bill for this month usage. 3 is preparing the bill at the monment. So I cant see the details. I check my3 everyday and it should be no more than $49.40 as showing on the last billing day.

Well, it seems this might be the perfect chance to let me rip Three off.

  • ok,, if the csh back doesn't help, then why should we go through moneybac website…

    • The $64 moneyback worked for me, it's already added to my transactions record.

      • +1

        Has it been approved?

  • Any idea when this offer expires since I need to make a bank card

    • You don't need a bank card, a bank account will be fine, it's used to setup direct debit.

  • Sounds like a lot of work, great if everything worked as planned.

  • So with this it's possible to signup then cancel it immediately but you will still get $64 from MBC?

    So in fact it's free $35?? ($64-$29).

    • +1

Use the promotional code "100special" at the checkout, and get $100 credit on your first bill, you can stay with them until the credits are used up.

      • Hey Steven,
I have a mobile, but can I just get a prepaid-plan from 3 and still avail the offer?
I have registered with MBC, and navigated to the link, but cannot see how to proceed without having to buy the mobile (which is free on 24 month contract) and selecting the 29 AUD cap.

        Thanks for your help,
        Cheers,
        Varun

  • +1

vote "-" cos cant use the promotion code

    • seems 3 fix the bug…..
Good luck for everyone already signed up…

      • GODSPEED & GOOD LUCK

I have signed up for myself & my frd
    this morning & hopefully would
    receive the sim card soon!
    Please send to [email protected]

    Thanks mate.

  • 3 just sent me an email and rejected my order! Is there anyone else got this email? Here is a copy of the email

    Dear Steven

The information supplied on your application today has been submitted for a credit check.
A credit check compares your information to statistical analysis, internal credit policies, debt risk, payment history, and handset limits.

Unfortunately in this instance your application has not met 3 Credit policy requirements, and 3 is unable to offer you a post-paid service.

Perhaps you would like to consider 3's prepaid services. There's no credit check and it's a great way to take advantage of 3's services.

Please visit http://www.three.com.au/threestore/prepaidmobiles.xhtml to view our current range.

    Regards,

    3 Online Sales Team

This is just BULLSHXT! If I went to a 3 store, I am sure that I can even sign up for a 2 year contract.

    • D'oh…
      feel sorri for you.
Signed up on Sunday morning, I've received my sim today and the $100 bonus yesterday…..

      • Have you got the $25 referral credit?

        • I'm an existing customer…Not eligible for than one. Unless some1 I reffered signed up.
Oh, the proof of purchase says I'm on $29 cap with $5 credit each month.

    • I received that email as well and I'm an existing customer currently on a 24 month contract! I have always paid my bill on time and nothing has changed to my credit rating since I signed up with them a year ago.

It looks like 3 Mobile are trying top get out of paying people $100 credit on this SIM plan.

      • Exactly!

        • Guess I'm a lucky bugger.
I signed this offer on purpose as they charge me whooping $280 for last month bill. Can't see the details until today. Turned out they made a $230 mistake. Annoying

          • @Blinda: Blinda, why was your 3 Mobile Blackberry deal removed recently from OzBargain? Even though you listed it as expired it was still working until a day or so ago.

            • @camelgrass: I know it's still working. Removed by Scott.
"That post on OzBargain has been pulled due to a cease & desist threat request from Three (they are calling it "illegal", "fraud" or whatever — my wife picked up the call). They might be coming for Whirlpool and other forums as well…"

              • @Blinda: Don't think the deal is working now - 3 have pulled the web page.

            • @camelgrass: The 3 Mobile Blackberry offer was removed from OzBargain due to a Cease & Desist request from Three (via clixGalore). Hate those C&D's, but that's all I can do at the moment.

  • if you still need referrer code, please email me [email protected]

  • i got the bargain, but having major issues trying to register for my3. Been transferred twice now and no one knows whats going on. What a great service :S

    • +1

apparantly they are having "issues" and will be resolves within 48hours.

  • the $64 cash back has been declined! :(

    Date: 2009-04-20 09:32:00Merchant: 3 Mobile Handsets
The following changes have been made:
    Moneyback amount: 64 ->
Status: Tracking -> Cancelled, reason 'Sale Declined'

    • So your order is declined by 3?

      • my order has been approved, but the cash back has been declined, maybe I'm the current customer of 3, not eligible for the cash back, good luck on you guys!

        • 3 charged back 100 bonus creditvfrom me last nite!!!!!!!!
