  • Well Friday is here and I'm gonna be very Disappointed if things aren't somewhat resolved by the end of today ( watch this space )

    • +3

      wishful thinking..

      • Well they did say Friday when they called

        • +2

Maybe Friday the 13th of December

Just got a phone call for my order, they still haven't consolidated stock and I was asked to wait a few more days (apparently early next week). My purchases were for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (PS3) and New Super Luigi U (Wii U). So basically, another asking to wait until a later date.

On the plus side, its nice to actually have them get in contact… only took 11 days at 20 minutes to be told basically nothing.

    • lol wait till monday again…

  • When I was in Target Charlestown last night I noticed that they had Pokemon Soul Silver on "Clearance" for $49, I know its not a fantastic price compared to the Good Guys however would be a solution to someone that wants a copy and not pay an excessive amount for it. Had 4 or 5 copies left.

  • Does anyone else have games in their order saying "ready to pick up" even though its meant to be delivered and not a store pickup ?

    • Mine does for one out of 12 games

  • Hey guys, just an update.

I received part of my order and one of the games (not the the "official" list) is the EU version. This is really strange, I would have thought that TGG provides AU stock and that it should not be EU stock.

Is there is something wrong with them providing me EU stock?

    • It should still work as EU version are also PAL which should be compatible on Australian Console.

      • +2

yeah but if they didn't claim it to be EU version I feel thats wrong. EU versions should be worth slightly less than the AU versions since now you the customer will have to go out of your way to set up a EU psn account to buy/use any dlc.

        • +3

I understand, but I would rather have an EU version, then no games at all…

        • What was the game, platform and which European region?

    • +1

The plot thickens. I think because the site advertised them as Australian PAL in the photos, they should technically provide you with Aus copies.

      • The thing is since it was taken down, there is no longer any proof. Unless of course the picture in the email counts.

        • Which it would. I don't think it's wrong to expect Aus PAL games…

        • +4

Great. Now I have to contact TGG again and be put on hold for half and hour…

Well, I guess its time to build up my case with the ACCC.

        • +2

theres nothing wrong with an EU copy…

        • +3

          No, you're not getting it.

TGG advertised AU stock and sent me EU stock. Also, this renders the ClubNintendo Code unusable in Australia.

      • +1

I think most people would think if they were showing you a AUS pal picture that's what you'd get. Now if they didn't use a stock photo and took their own photo with the Sticker over the eu rating I'd be slightly less upset but by selling imported stock without telling you it does slightly devalue ($10 game or not They should be upfront about it.) your purchase. Also a mother could be buying this for their kids and then the kid wants to buy or use the reg code that came with it but can't because it's not for their AU console.

        • +3

I would argue that if we got an EU copy of the game, we didn't received the product we paid for.

    • +2

Most of the time EU versions are exactly the same as the AU version, just no Australian rating. Wouldn't worry too much about it.

Maybe theyve resorted to importing cheap copies to fill the orders.

Out of curiosity, what game is it?

      • same thing basically just you wouldnt be able to use the nintendo points on your AU account (if it was a 3ds game)

        • +1

another way the purchase is devalued if they didn't outright state it being an import version.

        • +3

The things on club nintendo are rubbish anyway, no loss there

        • +5

Devalued? It's a $10 game. I'd be happy to buy brand new imports for $10 a game

        • I bought the Game and Watch Collection with my Club Nintendo stars, and sold it for $55 inc shipping. Got the new Zelda with the money. Worth.

        • Wait. That game is worth that much?

        • I ordered it cause it was selling for ~$70. But I wanted to sell it quickly so I listed it for $50. Collectors are hardcore.

        • How long did it take for you to receive it though? The nintendo hotline is absolutely useless. Told me 4 weeks for delivery even though they are shipping locally.

        • About 2 weeks, maybe a bit less.

        • Any idea why this game seems to be worth so much? Collector's item? Not purchasable anywhere else?

        • The only way to get it is through Club Nintendo, with 2500 stars, which is a lot of games. I guess its just cheaper for some people to buy it, rather than buy the games to redeem it.

    • So they can source more games from UK? Great!
Also just had a thought, for games that can be sourced via download code/digital version, it should be cheaper to supply and hence a more affordable and easily available solution (esp. for xbox, ps3). Is this a possibility for orders where physical stock cannot be found at all?

      • Nah, download codes breeds problems.

TGG might claim they have emailed the codes, customers might claim they have not received it.

        Intangible goods have this problem

        • Sorry I meant physical redemption tokens that have the code on them.

        • Those would probably be even harder to source.

    • The issue that I can concerned with is are AU retailers allowed to sell EU stock?

I know that it is compatible but that's not of concern.

Its a 3DS game that is not on the list.

On another note, I also received Resident Evil Revelations. The box and Club Nintendo card shows AUS but on the game card itself, it says EUR… Just curious if anyone knows why a EUR game card is in AUS packaging.

      • JB and EB often sell EU stock, they are the ones that have an Australian ratings sticker on the outside of the case.

        • But underneath the Australian Ratings Sticker is the EU Pegi rating right?

My copy of resident evil has a printed Australian rating and says distributed by nintedo australia behind. Just wondering why it has a EUR game card inside.

        • Was your game sealed?

        • Only the non-listed EU game was sealed.

          Resident Evil Revelations wasn't sealed.

AFAIK, 3DS games are usually not sealed in AU retail stores.

      • +6

I've had this happen with EB games etc… no big deal, I would be FAR happier getting an EU version than none at all! You're talking about $10 games that are brand new, wouldn't be arguing seriously…

        • +1

LOL reminds me of the time i bought a brand new nds game from fairfield eb. They gave me an unsealed game and said this was to ensure games aren't stolen from the shelves which is reasonable. I went home to find that there was a save file on it already. Took it back and saw the guy in the store room putting it into a store ds and disappeared for 10 mins. Came back out the said he got me a 'brand new' one (obviously he didn't).

        • +1

And if you are not happy with the UK game you can just send it back and get a refund in accordance with Australian consumer law as it is different to what you ordered.

  • +1

Does anyone know who actually delivers the games because I don't think it's Temando. I've tried entering the consignment number into AusPost and StarTrack Express, nada.

    • +3

Mine came via Couriers Please but I didn't even receive notice that my games had been despatched in the first place!

      • Thank you, that is the company whom are delivering it. Looks like I'm safe to leave the house today. Thank you :)

    • track on tnt website.

  • +6

I received 7 of the 10 games that I ordered today. The other 3 are on backorder. I didn't receive notice that they were even sent so I was sure I wouldn't get any of the games I had ordered. I didn't get a phone call either. Thanks TGG, now Xmas is sorted for me and my kids!

    • +2

Nice to hear, gives us all hope!

  • ITS FRIDAY , Does anyone received a call from GG or an email with an explanation !!

    • +4

No. I've never received any more communication from the GG's other than the generic emails they spammed out to everyone a week ago.

Despite the assurances I have never received a phone call, and Carla stated that would be the only way they would contact us earlier in the thread, despite email being quicker, personalised and, y'know, an actual record of what you are being told by GG customer care.

Looks like GG aren't prepared to send anyone else into the lion's den of the OzBargain forums either. Guess we must make them all "shudder".

      • The call is useless anyway, the person on the phone didn't provide anymore information than what was on this thread.

    • Nope. Just that email everyone else got.

    • +1

No however I called them and after 10 minutes on the waiting list I got pleasing results.
I've gone from 0/7 to 1/7 (from the list) now to guaranteed 2/7 likely 7/7.

Apparently Luigi is in transit to their processing hub while the other 6 including one from the magic list are all as likely as each other.

He also said that all information should be known by close today regarding all orders. If you don't get anything today try tomorrow if the number is open.

  • +4

Looks like some of us were lucky getting games early and others have been left pretty much in the dark myself included

  • and don't forget there's a new TGG promotion for when you use your store credit vouchers! :) http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/content/disney_play_…

  • +10

Honestly, if we don't hear something by the end of the day it might be worth taking this en masse to their Twitter and Facebook pages. This has pretty much flown under the radar and just been contained to OzBargain, might be time to go wider with the whole thing. Especially the shiny customer care aspect of it all. Broken promises and spin are all I've seen from GG.

  • +1

Got a call and staff said I'll be getting 2 pokemon games and the rest of the other 12 games they don't know but will give me call back early next week. Staff did not know about gift checks either. Useless. So yeah better medium would be on their fb or twitter page bec. ranting over here is pretty much under the radar

    • +4

Remember a week ago they said it would all be sorted by today? Now it's a call back next week. This may never end. Good to hear some people are at least hearing something, I'm still to hear anything since the allocation email a week and a half ago.

      • +1

        I'm in the same boat.
My order is currently with Penrith and all 8 games are listed as Backordered. I haven't heard anything except for the order allocation and clearance update emails.

  • +1

I have received part of my order and two of the games had already opened before, i.e. no seal, no wrapping. It doesn't look as nice when giving it away as a Christmas present…

    Anybody else have this experience?

    • Depends. What system are the games for?

      • They're games for XBOX 360.

    • +2

That's the standard for receiving most games from these places as they don't keep the disc in the case.

  • +1

Where'd Carla from TGG go? Was really good at responding to messages a few days ago now she is MIA.

  • +2

I have been waiting… patiently… but aside from a generic e-mail I have not heard anything more about my order.

I ordered 2 x Pokémon Heart Gold for 2 very excited little boys.

Can you provide an update please.

    Thanks

    • +1

I've got Heart Gold and Soul Silver waiting. I haven't read anything about anyone getting them, and haven't heard anything myself beyond the stock allocation - I think these ones are unlikely to be filled.

  • +1

Im not sure about everyone else, but TGG said if I dont get a follow up call today, then all of my games have been sourced, while I dont believe that they will be, I do believe they wont call me today, because of the influx of orders, so if I dont get a call and I dont get all the games on my order… what then :P

    • If you can't hold out you can call them before 11PM on 1300 466 348 tonight or after 8AM tomorrow. Be prepared to wait for up to 10-15 mins with the TGG song going on in the background but worth it for peace of mind.

      • +1

I rang them and didn't have to wait that long. You might be lucky.

That song drove me crazy though - would hate to have to listen to it for too long.

        • +2

I agree. Due to the huge waiting time and number of calls I made to the 1300 number, their song is stuck in my head now.

          Thanks good guys.

  • As scotty has mentioned, please stop targeting the rep by name and move on.

  • +1

Well no mail here today ……. If no call or courier later today I will be commenting on the Facebook page in a not happy manner

  • I got a call this afternoon and was told that I would definitely be getting Pokémon White Version 2. He said there will be a follow up call if they can't supply the rest and that if I don't hear from them then I would be getting everything. The other games I ordered were PS3 games plus Kid Icarus Uprising. The PS3 games I don't really care about but I was hoping to get the Kid Icarus.

He said if they can't supply everything in my order that I would receive a gift card as well as a refund. The gift card will be emailed.

  • Hey guys,

Just want to let everyone know I received a call from their call centre who was really quite helpful and patient. He ran me through both my orders and was apologetic about the first order having 3 of 5 games cancelled without my consent (although no offer of a giftcard - games were Luigi U, kid icarus and the prof layton game). He informed me that 4 of the 12 games I ordered in my larger order had been allocated to me and they were just waiting for the stock to be on hand - it sounded like they were consolidating everything before sending out orders instead of letting individual stores/franchisees handle the mess.

The four games I had allocated to me were Forza 4, Super Street Fighter 4, Black Ops 2 (PS3) and Lego City Undercover on 3DS as per the email sent to everyone. He couldn't tell me what the status of the other 8 games were but said hopefully they would know by early next week what they'd been able to secure. There's no duplicates in either order and if people are curious I'm happy to list the other 8 games if it helps them with their own orders and understanding what may be backorder only

Honestly I was pretty happy with the phone call, so be patient guys hopefully you'll be contacted shortly if you haven't been already. I don't think there's any real order to it (my order was placed about 6:35am on the day the deal was ozbargain'd)

  • This would be the final warning. Please leave TGG staffs/individuals out from the discussions, consider the action that has already taken (tweet taken down immediately).

Inappropriate personal attacks would be removed and risk having accounts banned on OzBargain.

    • +2

Not sure if that was directed at me or not Scotty but I removed the name of the guy who called me just in case it was. Apologies - it was a positive comment so I didn't think it was bad!

      • I don't think it was directed at you.

  • +3

I got 2 of my 3 games just then.

Both unsealed, display stock, loaded with stickers, scratches cases, one is cracked and has chunks missing.

One of the games (Gears of War 3) is UK stock with Aus OFLC stickers. The disc is also dirty and has marks on it.

No idea when I'm getting the 3rd game, it says back-ordered on the invoice so I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Not impressed, if I had of known I was getting 2nd hand quality stock I wouldn't have bothered.

    • -4

2nd hand quality stock pfft it has never been used so take that back broden :p

    • Were they delivered by a courier or did they just get put in with your normal mail? Wondering if I should keep an eye on my letter box or if I should expect to see a delivery truck or something…

Also emailed the Good Guys and got some generic "we will escalate your request" email back, but nothing else so far.

      • Couriers Please delivered it.

    • Two of my games are 2nd hand as well.

  • +1

Nothing in the mail today, will see if a courier comes.

  • +1

Part order arrived today in Brisbane from “The web delivery team” Robin. PS3 Dance party (no case/sleeve) & UFC move trainer (box looking a little beat up) – still waiting for BF3 & COD 2 – invoice shows status as backorder – don’t like the chances of seeing these but you never know. Should receive a refund and $40 gift card if they don’t arrive so really can't complain.

  • +4

Why is everyone getting second hand copies of the games?

This isn't going to end well.

  • +4

Wait a minute, so the games being delivered aren't even new? It wasn't stated that these were pre-owned. What kind of condition are they coming in? Because no cases, no sleeves and beaten up boxes sounds dodgy as.

    • +3

Well because the stock has been sitting on shelf with no protection, cases and booklets can get stolen. And the cases will get scratched with everyone picking them up and stock being moved. Minor surface scratches may be forgiveable but they should really be putting them in security cases and not opening them at all.

  • +3

3.30pm here and no sign of any delivery trucks and still no email or call. I guess will have to wait another week for more news. ZZzzzzZzZzz

    • and no rep to keep us up to date.

  • +1

i actually feel like homer simpson right now.

been at my computer all day, mobile phone next to me assuming that i'll get a call from the good guys at some point.

    take a 2minute bathroom break.

come back and find a missed call from one of their outbound numbers.

    why.. why? aaaaah.

what should i do from here? ring up their 1300 number?

    • +3

      get a job? o.o

      • +5

did you hear the news? they have computers at work places now!

  • +3

I've been well and truly blown away. Courier Please just delivered 2 of the 3 vita games I ordered, and one on back order. And just to think last Saturday i had a call saying i wouldn't get anything, Now that's what happens when OZBargain members stand our ground together and not take no for an answer. Well done everyone, and I'm still here as support if it helps any.

  • +5

Bashed up, scratched up, missing sleeves, dozens of stickers and broken cases?!?!?

I'm not expecting prefect sealed games… but this is starting to sound like they are sourcing their back order stock from Cash Converters…

Each time I come back to read this thread and read of all the blunders - I imagine this song playing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WZha_LHVS8

It really is Amateur Hour at The 'Good' Guys.

    • +1

LOL cash converters and you could also say from those tables at eb games under preowned :D
