and you still haven't even + voted :/

  • it is too late to place another order?

    • Yes, yes it is…

"JB HI-FI MASTERCARD PROMOTION - OFFER EXPIRED 25/12/2013 @ 10.00pm: GIFT CARD STOCK EXHAUSTED"

    • yes, the deal has expired

    • nvm. noted just now deal expired.

    • The big red "EXPIRED" at the top of the page says yes.

  • I'm afraid the deal is over.

  • Got my 10 egift cards in email an hour ago. Bought the $100 gift cards last 25th Dec (5 @1AM and another 5 @ 9AM)

    • -1

how about a + vote for the OP

  • Ordered another 12 x 100 on 24th and just got my 12x e card today. Hopefully can get my gift cards by Monday and I can go buy myself a tv!

    • How about a + vote the OP

  • Ordered 2 gift cards onTuesday and received the 2 $30 bonuses today, but nothing for my gift cards ordered on Friday. This has been poorly run by JB.

    • Same made 2 separate orders on tuesday and only received one egift card

      • +1

Yeah, but Friday is 4 days earlier than Tuesday. They have not adheared to their own T&Cs and they are going to hear about this. What was the advantage of getting in early and ordering?

  • Store is not accepting printed emails. manager said no after calling couple of stores.. have to wait for physical cards…but it would be next week- Tue or Thurs…

    • How about a + vote the OP

  • +1

Update on Usage of gift cards. Successfully used emailed eGift cards and Bonus Gift cards. The Checkout Chick had to call a manager who was in the loop about their new eGift Cards and all they needed was a copy of an ID. In and out in 10 minutes.

    • Lucky you are mate, which store was it, I wento t Werribee plaza one and manager there was too much concerned about fraud… he said what will happen how we will chase you if its a big fraud and all the crap.. I told him to keep my id and see credit card used to buy these gift cards, but he was adamant and said that he called two different store managers and they also said no…

      • Don't see how a plastic card with an easily reproducible bar code to represent the card number (and that's all the Barcode is) is any less open to 'fraud'

You can generate the same bar code using 'code 128' Barcode formatting..
Was tempted to print my 4 up as Barcode and see if they would scan those ;-)

        • that's why there's a pin.

physical vs email wouldn't make much of a difference i wouldn't have thought. it just takes a bit more effort to forge

      • +1

You might want to try the JB Hi-Fi on Old Geelong road the lady at the counter had not problem entering in my barcode numbers. Did take a min or two for her to work out how to do it but was more then happy to do it. Got my GoPro + 32gb memory for $320 so I was wrapt.

        • Thanks mate, I'll go there today and try to buy tv with my 12 gift vouchers… but it was a very good deal +1 to OP

  • Too busy buying 16 gift cards

  • got mine too guys, pre ordered my ps4 today, with all 4 egift cards, then the rest with the gift cards, apparently will recieve them on tuesday. believe it or not the old geelong road jb hifi in hoppers still has ps4 left in stock, its allocated to customers but theyve cancelled theyre just waiting for them to pick up the deposit! thanks everyone, one of the best topics ive seen on this site!

  • Ordered 13 $100 cards, had 1 rejected by their system but my MasterCard was charged and then reversed. Net result is I have received 12 $100 gift card emails and 13 $30 egift card emails. Used part of 1 of the $30 egift card emails today to buy some CDs. No dramas so far (touch wood).

Expecting the physical $100 gift cards to turn up next week.

  • Big thanks to the OP and Ozbargain community!
I was able to buy a Macbook Pro (price matched with Dick Smith's 10% off) with a 23% discount using the JB Hifi bonus gift cards.

  • Ordered an Xbox 360 online with MasterCard on the 25th (should've gotten gift cards instead, I know) but still no bonus gift card received. Was before the 10pm stock exhaustion too

    • Same here

      • Same situation , ordered actual products no egift card for that but another separate order for $100 gift card receives it.

        • Finally some people who actually bought items instead of gift cards. I was almost beginning to think the offer was only valid on gift cards.

        • Same here. Ordered Xbox at 2pm on 25th but heard nothing about gift cards. Anyone contact JB about it?

        • +2

Yep, I've sent an inquiry a couple of days ago. No response, unsurprisingly. I will pursue them about this lol

        • any word? sent an email but still no response..

        • Sent an email as well but no response but I just received my 2nd ecard via email. Still waiting for my physical card though. Order says complete online

  • Just got my gift cards, log in to vote; thanks Eastern :)

  • Has anyone who ordered on the 25th received their physical gift cards yet? Mine still says awaiting shipment?

    • me too, weird, take too long to actually ship the cards.

      • I ordered on the 24th still awaiting shipment. I'd happily use it online for in store pickup but the store stock for movies is drastically different than when you check the store stock online. Woulda preferred if the $100 was an egift card too and I could of used it in-store.

        • no gift cards for me till now…. zzzz

        • Because auspost doesn't deliver anything between 25th - 29th as it's their xmas break. So earliest you would have got it would be Yesterday or Today. Or if you bought it on 25th, they'd still have a backlog of all the stuff they need to process. I ordered 24th morning, was dispatched that day and only got it this morning.

        • did they change the status on your jbhifi account? mine say awaiting shipment…

        • frozen, what did your proof of purchase say? was the date 24th or did they put it as the date they shipped it out?

        • Mine all now say complete. Received the first physical card yesterday.

I actually can't believe other than some blu rays and DVDs, jb doesn't have any % off category sales at present. Was expecting the end of year madness to be replaced with some new year silliness. Perhaps they will on the weekend,

  • Are u guys saying the store would have an issue with using too many e gift cards in store?

  • Got my 4 physical gift cards today. They all came in the same registered envelope. Thanks OP and JB

    • I received one of the 4 that I ordered today…
Hopefully the rest will turn up tomorrow.

    Hi there,

Thanks for your email and sorry for the lateness of this reply.

After reading through the notes in your order it appears that the $30 Gift Card will be eligible for your order. Unfortunately due to the popularity of this promotion and that these cards are manually issued, it is taking longer than expected to send out these cards. However you should be receiving your card shortly.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

    Regards,

XXX | Online Customer Service Team 2IC | JB Hi-fi Online

    • I got through to some one on the phone who is trying to sort this out for me. I know the $30 egift cards will get issued eventually but really wanted to pick up a TV at a hot price during the boxing day sales.

Which day did you place your order PissLUR?

      • 22 December 2013 15:33
        perth time.

        • My orders were placed on 20/12/13

  • I placed my orders on the 20 dec. still no physical vouchers.
Maybe this is jb hi fi's strategy - to wait for the sales to finish before they issue the cards so they don't lose out on too much

    • Have you received all your $30 egift cards? I'm still waiting for mine. I have all my physical cards now.

      • Bonus cards will be emailed to you within 3 days from the time of an eligible transaction is made. I think you better call them to find out

        • I'm definately going to give them a call now

        • I have but they have not fixed the issue yet.

    • I placed my order on the 20 Dec and only received my physical card yesterday. Still waiting on the ones I ordered on 24 Dec.

  • Same received the physical cards but not the $30 egifts. Have sent an email waiting for there reply.
    Waiting!

  • Made total of 3 orders between the 21st & 24th. Received all 3x $30 eGift cards & so far 1x phys. GC this week (but have all 3x email vers. earlier), still waiting on 2x more phys. GC.

I'd imagine they were overwhelmed by the offer & they're still going though & manually issuing them. Just give them some time (like the powerbank deal, but surely no longer than a month tops).

  • If you buy something and use an egift card, if the item is faulty or you want to return it for whatever reason, will they give a full refund, or only refund the cash part and refund a $30 egift card with that?

    • you will get refunded with the payment form made, so if you bought something for $100 with $70 cash and $30 GC a refund would be in the same form/ratio…

      • Generally speaking, yes, but in most cases its store credit (in the form of a newly issued GC) as the GCs are debit/eftpos only so money can't be put back on them like a CC or reloadable card. If not then they refund you with cash.

        • They will not stupid enough to refund you cash. They will refund you with a gift card.

  • Any one still waiting for their $30 egift cards? I seriously can't understand why they can't just load them onto a physical gift card and get us to pick it up from a local store.

It will be interesting to see what Consumer Affairs Victoria have to say about this. According to their website The rebate, gift, prize or other free item must be provided within the time specified in the offer

    • I am still waiting.. Order 2..just got 1 egift card and 2 physical card

    • All the eGift cards would have been sent now.

I'd suggest contacting jb hi fi directly.

      • I have done that. They are still trying to resolve the issue they are having.

    • I received my Xbox but am still waiting for my $30 egift card. I ordered the Xbox with my Master card on Dec 25 2013 7:22AM, so I think I am eligible to receive a gift card.

  • Used 12 gift cards + 13 ecards to layby a tv. The register lady was there scanning for 10min. The receipt was twice my height and cause it's layby they gave to make 3 copies lol

  • +2

Is there anyone still waiting for the physical gift card? I ordered mine on the 24th and still waiting for it. A bit worried.

    • Ordered mine on the 24th received the physical card in the mail yesterday(perth)

    • (Sydney) Still waiting for my physical gift cards ordered on the 24th. The one I ordered on the 20th took ages to arrive (it came days after other people had received theirs) so I'll probably wait until the end of the week.

    • Yes, ordered Xmas Eve too and still waiting for the physical card.

    • Ordered mine on the 22nd December and still waiting in Sydney. Bit disappointed.

  • Finally received my $30 egift cards. Thanks JB, but unfortunately I have missed the boxing day sales.

    • I am still waiting..

      • +1

Give them a call so they can chase up your case specifically.

        • got the e-gift card within 24 hours of calling.

Thanks JB, OP and unity1. Time to spend….

  • Thanks for your email and apologies for the delay in our response.

The gift card promotion ended at midday on Christmas day and your order was placed at 6:21pm so unfortunately you are not eligable to receive a gift card.

Whaaat? I thought the promotion ended at 10pm Christmas day, not midday!

    • How many orders did you place?

    • Sounds to me due to the influx of orders they randomly chose someone to disappoint. Unfortunately you were on the wrong end of it…

…Or they are trying to weasel out of it…

    • +3

There was a line about 10pm on the website (it's not there now any more I don't think), the relevant quote is here.

"JB HI-FI MASTERCARD PROMOTION - OFFER EXPIRED 25/12/2013 @ 10.00pm: GIFT CARD STOCK EXHAUSTED"

If it ended at midday then I shouldn't have got a card so that's wrong anyway :) I ordered at 2:01pm.

Edit: the relevant line is still on Google cache. Odd that they removed it…

      • Thanks for that, I was looking for that line. I'll get back to them with the cache link you provided. Indeed you are correct, they've removed it from their current website.

@unity1, I only placed just the 1 order at that time.

        • kabigon has posted the proof you need to argue your case. Good luck.

        • +1

Good work guys, let's see them try and get out of it this time.

Ozbargainer: Hey I still haven't received that $30 from that Mastercard promo
JB: Sorry, deal ended at midday, you placed your order at 6.21pm
Ozbargainer: That's not what was on the website, have a look at this cache
JB: This is madness, this is blasphemy!
Ozbargainer: Madness??? THIS. IS. OZBARGAIN!!! ;)

    • Just got my bonus card in my e-mail today, 21 days after original purchase lol. Any card is better than no card. Cheers kabigon for that cache link. Upvoted your comment & this deal!

  • I purchased 14 to get a fridge from the Home section - turns out they wouldn't even price match Harvey Norman to within $200 so not worth it even with the discount.

I now have 14 x $100 physical cards and corresponding $30 gift cards ($1820 total) if anyone wants to make an offer. Pick up in Brisbane (face to face only) - unscratched panels on the cards and all can be checked online if needed. And no, offers less than $100 per card combo ($100+$30 match) will not be entertained…

    • if you bought 14 cards (giving you $420 of 'free' $30 ecards) wouldnt that still be a saving of $220 if they were $200 more than harveys?

      • There was also $150 cash back on the fridge which ended on the 31 Dec - the cards arrived too late (I asked and they would only accept the cards) so it made the fridge $350 more than what we had budgeted for. Sticking with the old one for now.

  • Thanks OP & mastercard!
    I just purchased my Sony RX100 for $448 :)

  • Received my physical card today finally (ordered Dec 24).

  • received today finally, ordered on the 24th dec, thought someone stole my mails. lucky it came via registered post.

    • That's weird mine was a standard envelope…

    • Ordered on the 20th Dec and haven't received the physical card or an email for the original $100 card; I did however receive the $30 gift card a couple of days after the original order.

  • Guys dumb question, do the gift vouchers (the physical ones) come already activated? Or do I have to go online and activate before I can use it instore?

    • Already activated

  • Didn't order enough! If anyone has spare gift cards, I'll be happy to grab a few for 110 per 100+30 dollar bundle.

  • I ordered one on 23 Dec but still not arrived yet, however others arrived I ordered 24 Dec to 25 Dec.

Sent JB email yesterday waiting for reply.

    • Give JB a call. They gave me a tracking number and it turns out my gift cards have been sitting at my local post office since 6 January but the postie didn't leave a card (third time in a row that's happened to me now).

      • postie didn't leave a card (third time in a row that's happened to me now)

Happened to me (at least) 6 times [mix of austpost or courier]! Sick of having to chase things up everytime. I swear delivery ppl are getting lazier+dodgier as time goes by. Maybe they have a daily delivery quota to reach & they rush from each location to next & so couldn't be bothered writing one out?

        • I emailed them and got reply said they will refund the $100 back to me.
          I got the refund now.
Not sure what happened to the gift card, mostly probably stolen by someone from my letter box.
