638.5 would be a good price for the 32Gb 5S … I can only find the older 5 32Gb for $534 and the 5C is already sold out!

  • Where are the 5S's?

Is there somewhere we can get the other 80% refurbished?

  • +1

There is zero stock of 5c & 5s. Please update your post.

Also, what do EB Games actually mean by 'refurbished? They just mean 're-packaged' right? I've always been amazed when iPhones are advertised as 'refurbished'.

    • If it was bought from the Apple store as a refurb, that'd mean it has had a replacement of the external components such as the screen and from memory also the battery. Essentially it'll look as new, but I'm not sure you'd get original packaging. Not sure what EB's refurb policy entails. I'd sort of hope it'd include a battery replacement and where necessary a new screen.

EB's refurb policy is probably wiping it over with a cloth and making sure it can turn on. I doubt they would replace the battery and definitely not the screen. Also if they did replace the screens you can't be assured it is with the same panels Apple would use.

  • Thanks OP. a little disappointed that the 5c or 5s is out of stock.
    but ordered an iPhone5 64GB anyway for : $574.56 + Shipping: $8.50 Total (inc GST): $583.06 .
third party lightning charging cable is a strange one, but hopefully, they'll provide a proper Charger.
not quite an amazing bargain, but very good price for 64gb model from a retail store with 3 months return guarantee. Happy…

  • is this a duplicate of this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/128331
I didn't see this the first time, but glad to see it this time…

    They're only 20% refurbished?

  • All 5S are SOLD OUT!!!! Arggghhhhh!!!

  • These will have no apple warranty or paid change over option as refurbed by somebody else

    • if you're lucky enough to get their iphone 5c/5s, sure you do have warranty from Apple Australia (I got a 5C with 9 months warranty leftover)

and phone doesn't come with original box and accessaries, at least mine came with an old lightning cable, original charger and … that's it (not even a pin to open my sim tray). anyway,if you're not happy with it, you're able to bring it to your closest EBGames store to have a refund :)

  • This deal is one since December and the phones which are sold out now were sold out back then. Good for 5c and 5s as they will all have some Apple warranty left, but the rest…..if your phone is broken it is gone. Refurbished by EB Games means that somebody sold them their used iPhone. Now you buy it of them.

  • Just got the 4s a few days ago 32gb white. Mine came with a cheap black charger, a USB cable, the sim pin, and the phone was wrapped in bubble wrap.

the screen is perfect. Seems like the screen protector that the previous owner put on the phone was finger print and smudge free. the back has a couple of scratches. Now I got both nexus 4 and my iphone to play with.

I bought one last week, 5 64GB from EB, it seemed to work fine.
But now the screen is unresponsive and types without pressing, it lags and I am not very happy.

Going to go to Apple store to see what is wrong, but I believe it is a after market screen that is causing the issue or a faulty phone.

So be careful of buying refurbished

  • In terms of the refund process, can anyone share an insight into what happens if the product is faulty?

The 'preowned guarantee' says: If this product stops working within 3 months of purchase, simply return it to any EB Games store along with your receipt, and we’ll happily exchange it for another copy! This product may not include original packaging or instruction manual.

So say your phone stops working or has a problem in 6 months, are you out in the cold? What about the consumer rights in this situation? i.e. http://www.accc.gov.au/business/treating-customers-fairly/co…

Wouldn't you be able to return it to EB games?

    • you'd have a hard time doing so as the goods aren't sold as brand new

  • there really needs to be closer scrutiny on what EB is allowed to call refurbished. in all likelihood they just wipe it over and repackage it in which case it should just be sold as second hand

a "refurbished" ipod touch i asked to see was in very used condition; scratches all over. didn't get as far as turning it on. and wasn't that much cheaper than buying a new one.

  • picked up a blue 5c this morning.. well was charged for one… lets see how it is when it gets here.

    • Update. Got it. They sent a 32gb so that's good.

Phone is banged up and after market charger cable isn't recognized.
