    where's $19 .. it says $29 on the website

  • Hi. New here ….

Would anyone be able to send me promotional and/or referral codes to
    [email protected]

Also am about to travel Oz … would 3's coverage be sufficient mainly for SMS.

    Thanks in advance …. Dean

    • Received with thanks … Dean

    • 3 has poorer coverage compared to the other providers. If you are travelling across the country I would stick to Telstra.

      • Not true anymore provided you have the right phone..
3 roams on parts of Telstra's NextG network now, generally in areas also covered by Optus' YesG service.
So 3's coverage is on par or perhaps even better than Optus' (Optus being the second largest network behind Telstra)..
But you need to have a suitable phone like the E63 which is compatible with the 850MHz CDMA HSPA NextG network.

For ultimate coverage, Telstra is the way to go on a NextG capable phone.

        • yeah but for data use do you still get hit really bad for downloads?

Honestly any carrier's reception is only any good if it's in the areas your in, be it Tesltra or Optus or whatever. Probably always worth checking you can get reception where you plan to need the phone.

          • @Smigit: Yes.. data is still expensive when roaming on any of Telstra's networks.

For the purposes of being a phone however, 3's coverage is now at least close to Optus and is possibly even better than Optus (provided you have a suitably capable handset of course..)

  • Blinda, any idea about the Nokia E71 changing plans?

    • +1

You need to enable emails or contact me if you want one.

    • hey mate send me a message because ur private messages are turned off http://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/8775

      • end me ur email to neosin1 at hotmail.com

  • anyone need a refer code send me ur email to neosin1 at hotmail.com

  • Anyone need a three referral credit??

    email: will_perth[-at_]hotmail[-dot_]com

note email has been obscured to avoid spammmers with there email sweeping programs!

  • $29 cap plan for 12 month gives you half price for 3 months for being an existing customer!

    • link? source?

      • That is a standard offer for all existing customers

        • bad news

You will receive the first 3 months line rental half price on your new Postpaid Mobile Phone (excluding the $19 Summer Special).

  • IMO it is better to lock in for a 24month plan with 3. The Vodafone and 3 tie will soon pass the legal hurdles and Vodafone will make changes to the existing 3 plans so that the business becomes more profitable.

btw anyone needing a Referral code feel free to PM me your email add.

Also as long as you are not spamming out the codes by posting them on comments page. I see no reason for 3 to have a problem. Ozbargain is a website made up of people sharing info and deals to help out fellow members / friends. <— hope u r reading this 3!!

  • Hey guys, does anybody know if the phone (SE W705) is locked to 3?

  • The terms and conditions say: 3 will supply your unlock code free of charge. Total minimum cost over 24 months is $696. If the service is disconnected within 24 months $29 per month for remaining months of contract is payable & you must pay all outstanding charges.

Total min. cost is $696 i.e. 24x29 although the spash page says $19 for 24 months when I choose $29 plan it still says the above.

    • you have to go to a different section, Hot Deals or something like that. there is the $29 for 12 months banner, just click on that.

    • is there some kind of time limit on the free unlock code? like do you have to wait a couple months or something?

      • +1

basically when you get your package, just call up 3 Care (133 20) then go through to the menu, and ask the customer rep for an unlock code and they will give it to you.

  • thanks

  • Great Deal, could you please send me a referrer code?

    May thanks

  • anyone needs ref. code plz email manobik [at_] gmail .

  • Hi Binda, nice post again. I am with 3 and my contract is about to expire in 2 months but I would love to take the opportunity to grab this 12 months contract offer. I was thinking to go for another contract and after 2 months I can cancle my exiting plan (after the contract finish) but I want to keep my existing mobile no. I have enquired with three and I have been informed that I can not keep that number (if I cancel the plan). I can definetely upgade the handset and plan with another contract but in that case I will not be eligible for $100 special offer nor I will get the moneyback from MBC. Is there any way to do that. Any help much appreciated. Thanks..

    • +2

Sign up with the new plan right now if you want to have the $64 moneyback, $100 coupon doesn't work with 12months plan. With your existing contract, wait for it to expire in 2 months, then PORT THE NUMBER out to a different carrier. When your old number is ported (contract is automatically cancelled), contact 3 again, and tell them you wanna port your number back to the plan you signed up (which is this $29 for 12months). No fees will be charged for porting of numbers.

Works out cheaper even though if you signed this plan today and have to keep it idle for 2 months before your old contract expires. $64 - $29*2 = $6 gain

Its a lot of work but you get to keep your old number, don't have to pay cancellation fees, and get to enjoy this new plan before it runs out.

      • +1

That should work, but you may get a little problem of porting back as it will still have the retired service on the account.
Can I buy a $2 prepaid vodafone simcard, and port the 3 number to it?

        • i'm interested to know too. i'm in a similar boat.

          • @ltwo: yes any different carrier sim will work, and porting it back after porting your old number out will not be a problem. I've done it several times.

            • @Nazrath: Thanks! One more question: can I port back that number to another service of 3, i.e., replace the number of another service so that I can keep using the original number.

            • +1

@Nazrath: Nazrath, just wanna be completely clear.
I currently have a contract with 3 (lets call that Number A) that will expire in a few months.
              I'm getting this $29 deal on a 12 month contract (Number B)

When Number A expires, I go buy a cheap prepaid card from Vodafone or anyone else and I port my number to that.
Right after I do that, I can then port my number back right away to the newer contract (Number B)?
I didn't know you can port a number in right in the middle of the contract. I thought you could only port when you sign up.

              • @ltwo: Yes you can port a new number in at any time of the contract. My contract is a living proof. So just to clarify, even if plan number B is 5months old, you can port in a different number from a different carrier.

                • @Nazrath: Im in a similar position, i have only got 3 months left on my contract. Just wondering after my contract finishes, if i port my number to another service, will i then be able to sign up as a new 3 customer? Hence be eligible for $100 credit and $64 cash back should a offer be available? Thanks heaps!

    BAD BAD BAD NEWS!!!!!!

Dear neosin, You have received a new private message at BuckScoop Forum from lilpretzel, entitled "Hello". This is the message that was sent:***************Just letting you know that I have edited your 3 Mobile deal for the Nokia E63 and moved it back into the forum. I'm sure Admin explained to you the reason for it being moved off last night, I haven't included the $100 free credit codes as these are meant only to be used if you received the offer and are entitled to use them. I will have a talk to Admin and see if they want them added but after reading all the trouble other forums have gotten into it's best to follow the rules so we don't lose the '3' cashback program. If you used a code and went via Buckscoop please be prepared that you may not get both the cashback and the credit :) If you have any questions please ask. Cheerslilpretzel

So if u use $100 off code in 24month plan u WON'T get $64 cashback from buckscoop or moneyback co(same concept as buckscoop)

they haven't told me if we will get cashback on the 12 month plan >_< but i have a feeling they won't give the $64 cashback on the 12 month plan as well

    • Could you let me know whether we will get cashback on the 12 month plan? I won't bother buying it online if we can't get cashback on it. Thanks!

      • +1

Yes, i think you do. i went through moneybackco and ordered the $29 on 12 months. the transaction has appeared on my moneybackco list. (tracking, est payment date July '09)

  • Sighs, signed up for this deal on the 30th, got an email saying that there was an error on my 100 points of ID and that i had to send them to '[email protected]' again. did so, however the email address is not valid and is being rejected by their system(final recipient was: 'rfc822;[email protected]'. so i fowarded the same email to which came from the original message([email protected]) explaining that the email that they had asked my to send to did not work. got an email about half an hour ago pretty much telling me to 'kindly' send 100 points of ID to that same address, tried and still failed to send….frustrated…. Anyone else going through this mess?

    • not the failed email delivery mess, but i tried to sign up for a 29 cap sim the other day, over a week later they got back to me about needing to re-send id, which i did promptly, then 4 days later 'sorry your order was cancelled', and listed a bunch of possible reasons.
guess it worked out though cos this is a much better deal…

      • wow, that's really pretty pathetic of three huh, but think on the bright side, least now you can sign up for a $19 cap. or have you already learn't your lesson.. :P

      • I had similar problems with a previous offer..
after 3 weeks, including one where I was on Virgin prepaid, Ended up going back to a Virgin Cap, which took all of 5 minutes to complete the entire transaction!

  • Hi, does anyone have a link to buy E63 $29 cap for 12 months? I couldn'd find it in Three website.

  • Too bad the three network signal strength is horrid at my house otherwise I'd be all over this.

    • What's the NextG network signal like?
The E63 is NextG compatible.. so may be suitable for you..

That being said, Three phones generally try to push you onto the 3 network if it's at all detectable..

Also they wont sell you a phone if you live outside their network area.
