I love that the NSA are going to have a view of a stuffed dog's butt if they were to ever snoop.

The post for people who want the free games and dont want to pay for the gold

  • how do you get gold for the weekend if you're on silver now?

it asks me to pay for the 3 options (monthly, 6 monthly or yearly)

or has it not activated yet?

i'm only in it for the free games

    • From the 25th to the 27th. So 21 more mins. ;-)

      • it's 00:49 and it's still give me option: monthly, 6 monthly and yearly.
        no Free Gold

You're right…. Still not working for me either….. Maybe the work experience kid who needed to press the 'make it so' button was out on the turps last night….. Will check again later today.

The free games are free to play games anyway, the list of free games are:

    • Happy Wars
    • Crash Course 2
    • Spartacus Legends
    • Ascend: Hand of Kul
    • World Series Poker

Brace yourselves, micro transactions ahead! But there is one game that is part of the games with gold promotion, and that's Lara Croft: Guardian of Light (it's got no micro transactions)

    • Cheers, might dust off my 360 for tomb raider: gol

Does not work. On the Games with Gold page it says "offer for paid Gold members only". :(

    • Crash course 2 - you get one level free…

Can't work out if I can "earn" tokens to unlock more by playing or if I have to buy …no way am I paying for Doritos to advertise their product to me.

      • I think it is the full game, but you need to keep playing to unlock next rounds.

  • 360 only apparently

  • Why's Bart looking at his weiner?

  • Cant you always get free 14 day trial foxtel using pc tablet xbox smart tv. There is a link below for it…

  • nice my 360 has been collecting dust for a while.. time to fire it back up.

  • Nice find, I was waiting for this one.

  • Don't think free games will work, same crap deal as last year

  • Still don't get the option of free gold? Anyone managed to activate this?

  • typical microsoft bait and switch

I don't understand this deal. It says you need to have xbox live gold, in order to get xbox live gold for free ??

To kickstart the party proper, we’re opening up our Xbox LIVE Gold features to everyone for FREE^ from 23th to 27th January! Don’t miss your chance to check out all the benefits of Xbox LIVE Gold.

^Broadband Internet connection and **Xbox Live Gold subscription required.** ISP charges may apply.

    • They didn't expect anyone to actually read the foot-note lol!

To get Xbox Gold (Free Weekend offer), you do nothing at all.

It's already activated, meaning you can instantly jump into the multiplayer portion of any game. Right now.

Also 'Deal of the Week' deals do not work with this 'Free Gold weekend'. Nor does the 48 hour and 14 day Gold trials.

    • This has always been the case.

  • I signed up to Xbox, flicked around, saw nothing to watch, so cancelled it. I get to keep it till the 9th though. So if you are not going to keep it, just cancel straight away and don't worry about remembering to do it later.

  • Crash Course 2 must only be for Gold members, and not part of the free weekend thing?
