Anyone can proclaim their love by texting (for a standard SMS charge) their name and their valentine’s name to 0499 MY LOVE (0499 695 683) and it will appear on the billboard.

That’s: NAME1 [space] NAME2 and send to 0499 695 683

By sending your SMS, you will also receive a picture message to your phone of your names will appear spread across the billboard (not an actual photo of it happening).

As long as the other half doesn't know its free (well, SMS cost) you could say you pulled in a few favors to get it up there lol…..

Billboard of Love SMS can be sent from 6.00am AEDST on 14 February 2014 until 12.00pm AEDST on 16 February 2014 (Campaign Period) and will be displayed on a Billboard outside the following Telstra Stores:

a) 246 Bourke Street (corner of Swanston Street and Bourke Street), Melbourne VIC 3000; and
b) Melbourne Central, Level 1/shop 155 Melbourne Central, 211 La Trobe Street, Melbourne VIC 3000,

  • You may send as many Billboard of Love SMS's as you like.

    I don't remember seeing this many cables in the past.. Maybe last time it was dusk. The board was brighter and background was darker. I suppose now is not a good time to do this.

    Shame they text you a picture back. Otherwise you could make your partner wait at the billboard all night to see it. Which would save you the cost of taking her out.

        i think i remember seeing something last year that said it appears for 60 secs (so its displayed sometime during the day) and the picture you get back is what it would look like if you happened to be there at the time of viewing.

        *note that i am an employee of Telstra but not affiliated with the direct marketing of this. So you would need to contact the specific numbers in the T&C for further info.

    This is clearly not geared towards the ozbargain community… Still costs the price of a txt msg.
    If they (telstra) really wanted to get our attention then they would offer a free live feed off the ozbargain website.

    I think we've been had!

    The sky in Melbourne today is a white haze - no blue to be seen anywhere, yet every photo shows nothing but a beautiful blue sky.

    Secondly, I've sent 3 separate requests through, each around 10 minutes apart, and on each photo I see the same gent!!

    Is the rep gonna 'fess up as to what is really happening?
