          I think the bonus sentence was always featured in the description on the Online Only Eneloop Offers page, but not in the description once you click through to the actual Eneloop ROUGE 8 x AA item.

    I know they're great and all and hold charge forever and come precharged, but I can't get past 4 NiMH AAAs for $1.52. They just go in remote controls, and I'm probably going to lose them. So better lose a $0.40 battery than a $2 battery.

      No way that AAA has 1800mAh capacity. Purchasing NiMH from eBay is a fraught exercise.

      The BEST AAA from reputable brands are 850-950mAh in that size. Stick with Eneloops, Maha/Powerex and Turnigy.

      If you do some google search, you will find these no brand or BTY branded AA batteries only hold up to 100 mah rather than 2600 mah or 3000 mah as claimed.

      So 40c for 100 mah vs $2.5 for reputable 2200 mah eneloop, what's your choice?

    Just spoke with DickSmith Electronics office regarding the earlier offer of today for the Eneloop Standard Charger + 16 x AA Rouge Battery Pack at $14.98, as I had placed my order. They tell me they are cancelling all the orders placed, they are refunding monies and give gift card to same value. Said it was a website error, and have been out of batteries since Friday. Not a good way to do business.

      They cannot give you just a gift card from their store, if they do so I would just wait for the gift card to arrive and then open a Paypal dispute(hope you used Paypal) and get the money back plus the gift card, that would teach them a lesson. In my case ,see below, they offered me a full price gift card($40) for one 8xpack missing.

      The guy on the phone, when I told him I want to make a complaint about an order, he immediately asked me if it's about missing batteries…He practically said there is a big f@ckup with the eneloop promotion and they don't know if they will be able to fulfill every order. when I asked politely what my options are he offered to send me a $40 gift card so I can go and purchase the missing pack in-store !!!!

      I had something similar. Had ordered 2 of the 8AA Rouge packs(+2 bonus UOMO packs) along with the 8pk of AAA, and my dispatch email only mentioned the 2 x 8 Rouge packs as well. No mention of the AAAs. When they arrive, if no AAA OR bonus UOMO packs, then I'll chase up.

        From my personal experience DS helpdesk tickets are useless. I had to open 4 tickets for an order I placed around xmas time and I never received(9 weeks later I got a refund but that's because I called them)..Everytime the DS helpdesk case manager closed the ticket without even replying to me online or via email. Waste of time IMHO but i hope you have better luck

          I wasn't offered any (tropical) batteries, instead they sent me 2x$20 DS gift cards
          so, i paid approx $32($20 previous gift card+$12 paypal)
          and i got: 8xrouge batteries plus 2x$20 gift cards,
          in other words I paid $12 and got 8xeneloops plus $20 gift card :)

        Spoke to DSE Customer service. They're out of stock of the UOMOs, will send out one 8pk of tropicals for each 8pk Rouge bought. Not too bad, I'd rather have the UOMOs for the fancy look, but matched pairs of tropicals will have to do :)

          I ordered these too and only received the Rouges. So, had contacted them yesterday and got an email this morning that they will be replacing the UOMOs with the Tropicals.

          I now have received another email stating that that the Tropicals have been picked up and will dispatched shortly with an invoice that lists only the tropicals.

          I expected to get 16 eneloop AAs and am getting 16 eneloop AAs. I am a happy chappy :)

      Same here, will contact DSE shortly. Seems like others are getting an ok deal though with the promise of a set of Tropicals.

      Edit: Im guessing the DSE sales line have been told to say "but you only ordered 8" until such time as you tell them you have a screenshot of the original sales wording clearly showing that there should have been a bonus 8 as well, at which point they then say that the free batteries are out of stock and they will be sending you out a pack of 8 Tropicals instead.

      Not really a very customer friendly way to deal with a stuff up at their end. They obviously seem very well aware that there is an issue given the speed at which they quickly turnaround and offer the Tropicals, but you have to prove it with a screengrab. Poor form DSE. :(

    Just received the additional 8 pack of tropicals in a very oversized box (just floating around inside without packing).

    The odd thing is that there is a lot of typos and "Engrish" text on the back of the packet. Is/was Sanyo really this bad with their translations or are we perhaps receiving some knock off copies of eneloop batteries?

      What is the web address on the back of the package. Mine say www.eneloop.com.sg, which FF says cant be found. I know that it comes up as a site on urlmetrics, has a lot of hits apparently, but its not available now.

      The official website is www.eneloop.info. And it works fine.

      These might well be knock-offs. Its all very odd.

        Panasonic took over Sanyo's eneloop brand a year or more ago now, and archive.org shows that the domain was actually being redirected to http://panasonic.net/energy/eneloop/sg up until at least August last year. After that point it would seem that Panasonic decided the domain renewal fees were just too crippling and decided to shutdown the domain completely.

        Odd decision by Panasonic really but not the first time they have made a bad move, maybe if they hadnt of pissed $100m up the wall sponsoring the London Olympics they would have been able to afford to keep the sg domain alive at least until all their older eneloop stock was sold.

          Yeah, initially just got 1 8pk of the Rouge, and no bonus 8pk of UOMO. Called them up, they sent out a replacement pack of 8pk tropicals.

          If anyone has one of the fancier maha/lacrosse/etc chargers which can measure the capacity of the batteries at full charge, would be good if can check the capacity of the tropicals to see if they're knockoffs. Had a quick look for the known identifying marks of knock-off eneloops on the tropicals, and they look legit…

          I felt even more jipped that I didnt get the charger or the initial 4 batteries and still was charged $5 more. But then I remembered that 16 eneloops for $25 is a bit of a bargain in its own right and I shouldnt complain too much. :)

    First up I going to say Dick Smith eventually honoured the prices but oh my!

    I ordered 2 x 4 AAA for $19.98 and the Charger (with 4 batteries) plus 16 Rouge for $14.98 AS A CLICK AND COLLECT. Eventually 'Joy' got the wrong Hurstville store to honour the prices but only after;

    4 calls to the Customer Service for Click & Collect
    2 visits to the Hurstville Metro store
    1 visit to Hurstville Westfield

    Just felt like it was always going around in circles as It appeared this order had 2 errors, the offer itself was too good to be true and allowing Click & Collect.
    You call the store they say never received order, call CS and they say deal with the store. I was told he order had been passed to the store, ring them and they say no. The Metro store were unhelpful pigheaded and stubborn and only offer to sell to me at cost ~$80 instead of $35, in the end the Westfield store could not have been nicer - Cudos guys! The only thing was the Rouge were out of stock so I have the Umno? (Purple instead of red colours - no biggy)
