    What are Eneloop's?

    • :p

    • +14

What a surprising question (from a member since 2011).

    • +11

Are those animals with horns look similar to a deer, found in Africa savanas

      • +6

No, I think you mean Antelope. Eneloops are a kind of medicine designed to counteract poisons.

        • +6

No, Antelope are ants species found on a slope of a hill, and the medicine to counteract poisons are Antiloops or Enedotes depends on the type poison.

        • +5

Actually ENE means east north east, eneloop is a loop that is done in that direction.

        • +3

No, Antelope is what happens when your daughter runs off to marry an ant in Fiji.

If you don't know forget it.

    • +1

they're REALLY good batteries that can be recharged MANY times and still hold charge for a LONG time

      • +1

But seriously as someone who've not used ENLOOPS before:

These deals come on average once a month, the price during these deals seem more like the norm than the exception. Why are there so many upvotes, are these same people buying them every time?

I'm just imagining all these batteries fed through a machine gun belt into some OZBer's circuit board, powering their home.

        • +2

I can just imagine a whole house made of eneloops w/ solar panels & inverter (like incredible machine). You'd always be thinking of endless combos to power your gadgets! (NB: house might explode in aussie summer heat…)

        • +1

worth the risk just to see if it works!

    • It's a flat paper container for letters or ozbargain coupons.

    • +3

      What are Eneloops?

A drug. Only the high is received as you buy them, not when you consume them.

  • Would love to get my hands on that pack with the charger, but I doubt it will be "in stock" during the sale

  • +7

WoW another eneloop, well I think I've enough of it already!. Anyway nothing relate but I just found a small solution for anyone have a trouble like me with too many eneloop around and hard to keep it in one place, then look for this ammo box on ebay MTM Ammo Box for WSSM RSLD-50-10 and it will fit 50 of em bad boy eneloop or more if you say so…..

Anyone have another idea to keep eneloop neatly then pls tell me ;) I'll look for it.

  • +1

OP you haven't been around the last 1-2 weeks have you? ;)

    • +2

Believe OP was the one who reported the last awesome deal with eneloops + charger. Think he knows all about the fun over last couple of weeks :)

    • I wouldn't have thought this deal would receive so many positives give it was 16+4 in the last deal for just over 20!

  • is there a real difference between the on sale and the one below?
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/camera-accessories/eneloop-aa-re…

    • Nope, not that I can tell. $50 is their usual over-inflated RRP for these.

  • -5

What kind of poverty deal is this? Pls go OP, you could have got 20 for this price a week ago.

    • +10

Glad to know you've invented a time machine to pick up past bargains. Can I get a ride?

      • +1

I would like to have a ride too, but I won't buy any eneloops on that price. I just need to have a share from the recent OZ lotto and will never look back on any eneloops again.

    • What kind of poverty deal is this? Pls go OP, you could have got 20 for this price a week ago.

You must be kidding, right LaProblematique? You do realise theearth posted the deal you speak of. Start posting some of your own deals and earn some respect. You're not even in the same league as theearth.

  • +1

Got the previous deal, i think it was $25 including postage for 2 x 8 Eneloop AA battery pack, plus charger, which had additional 4 batteries. So in total 20 batteries plus 4 slot charger.
Now, I am after AAA size.

    • Yep i've got about 50xAA but no AAA hah. There never seems to be a good deal on AAA.

      • +1

8x AAA for $20 last week was pretty good.

      • There were AAA eneloops on special at the same time of the last dick smith eneloop sale with chargers and multiple 8pks of AA. Wasnt as good a deal as the AA but better than RRP.

        • I reckon that AAA battery deal was a good one. I just checked regular price on dicksmith and 4 piece pack costs $25.98 excluding postage.
Will be waiting for the next AAA deal!

  • +3

    Mathematical question:

I have 36 new Eneloop. still in their packaging. I have 8 eneloop equivalent, still in packaging, and I am using 12 eneloop (and equivalent) for the last 5 years, some need to be thrown out.
How many more eneloops do I need to buy?

    • +10

Eneloop is the new OzBargain currency.

    • Use it as a suppository.

      • +1

Are you a doctor? Can you list any positive or negative side effects?

        • -1

          Use it as a suppository

Abbott would know all about that. Suggest you ask him…

        • @stig: Why don't you try and let us know.

@grab_ur_freebies: Good one, Tony would definitely know!

    • at least enough to replace the equivalents with Enaloops, and then a few more

      • +2

I use 2 eneloops in the morning, I use 2 eneloops at night,
I use 2 eneloops in the afternoon it makes me feel all right,
I use 2 eneloops in time of peace and 2 in time of war,
I use 2 eneloops before I use 2 eneloops and then I use 2 more

I have also made a little song about it but they messed it up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfduFy26EE0

    I never missed anything

Congratulations; it must be great to a have life where you can sit watching OzBargain all day, waiting for those very short-lived offers.

      • +5

There are benefits to being unemployed.

      • +17

Congratulations; it must be great to a have life where you can sit watching OzBargain all day, waiting for those very short-lived offers

Not just watching but I always shared deals with my fellow ozbargsiners unlike some people here because sharing is caring,

BTW I have full time job and posted this deal at work.

        Have a nice day

        • +7

I like how people with posted deals that can be counted in one or two hands' fingers(like me) criticise deals from OZB "gurus" with over a THOUSAND deals posted!
Keep up the good work theearth and thank you!

        • -8

Congratulations; it must be great to a job where you can sit watching OzBargain all day, waiting to share those very short-lived offers.

        • +6

You do realise that theearth was the one who posted the deal initially on OzBargain in the first place right? There was no need to sit and watch OzBargain all day if he's the one putting the deals on the site in the first place.

Some people just love to bash others for their own failings…..

        • I'd say people don't realise (because theearth has made it difficult by not using formatting) that he/she is quoting an earlier comment from itsandhu.

        • What is wrong with you?

You don't want anyone else to share and score a deal unless you sit in front of your PC brushing dirt off your leg after a long day at work?

      • +8

You should be grateful that theearth still posts these deals . I also have a full time job but browse ozbargain from my phone every 15 min so I don't miss out on a deal

Congratulations; it must be great to a have life where you can sit watching OzBargain all day, waiting for those very short-lived offers.

        • +2

i hope you are not a driver or a surgeon easternculture LOL

I would love to have something like tweaked google glasses where every OZB deal would pop up in front of my eyes in real-time :)

      • Well said EC. Thankfully, I too have a full time job.

    • Poverty (adj): when something is more expensive than it was at a different time

  • Wonder why there's never any deals for the 'XX' Eneloops?! They're SO expensive in comparison for very little added benefit :(

  • +1

Thanx OP great deal for me! last time I received 1 of the 2 rouge packs I had ordered and instead of the tropical replcement I have been offered 2x$20 gift cards that I used today to get ANOTHER 16 eneloops for only $4.93 delivered!!!!

  • +6

The 8x tropical batteries + standard charger with 4 batteries for $34.95 + shipping deal is now avaiable.

For some reason www.dse.com.au only shows me the deal on the front page via the online deals link

    Here's the direct link: http://www.dicksmith.com.au/batteries/eneloop-aa-tropical-en…

  • so happy i got the last deal , so much better than this :D anyway still a good deal to others who missed the last one

  • It seems this battery deal is on all the time…

  • Why always this price? It's kind of normal price now for Eneloop 8-pk.
Should be $10-15 for 8-pk now to make it bargain imo.

  • Why not just buy two 4-packs of ALDI AA's? They have a slow 6 month discharge rate and the price is about $7 a pack. Unless you get the Eneloop's for a real decent price I wouldn't bother TBH.

    • I couldn't wait any longer for Eneloop AAA deals, bought a 4 pack of Aldi LSD AAA for $7.00 and they are working great.

    • You get what you pay for…..

I've tried the ALDI ones and they are not as good as the eneloops.. After 12 months in storage unused a good deal of my Aldi's fail to charge properly (HIGH alert on Maha charger)…

You get what you pay for, and there is a reason eneloops are well regarded by fellow ozbargainers and on many sites as being the standard by which all other LSD batteries are compared against…

      • Yeah if you are going to buy Aldi, then make sure you use them.

  • +1

any AAA deals? Too many AA already ; D

    • Yeah I've got enough AA's bring on the AAA deals

  • -6

Sorry, but after scoring on this deal:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/135849
When Dick Smith stuffed up and only sent only 2 x 8pk Tropicals with the 2 chargers ordered, and then send another 4 x 8pk seperately when I point out they were 2 x 8pk short.

    48 TROPICAL BATTERIES + 8 WHITE + 2 CHARGERS for $46.92

I now have an abundance of batteries and anything more than $7 for an 8pk of eneloops no longer seems like a good deal..

    • What I didn't neg the deal. If my comment was the basis of my downvoting the deal I could understand the negs but I gave it a + anyway, it is still a deal.

      Why all the negativity?

Are the negs on this comment from people who think I should return the Extra bonus Dick Smith stuff up eneloops (for 4x 8pk with the 2 chargers with 4 batteries each equal to another 8pk making an equivalent price for 8 eneloops $9.38 instead of the $6.70 for 8 eneloops I ended up with).

I did consider returning them but if I emailed Dick Smith to point out that they sent 2 more sets than they should have, in their incompetence they'd probably just end up sending me another 2 sets.

Or are the neggers just pissed off they missed out on the last deal or that I got an "extra bonus" that they didn't?

Yes the last deal is finished and this is as good as it gets for eneloop at the moment.
Just pointing out that the last deal was outstanding, and it is now going to take something absolutely incredible on eneloops for me to sit back and say "Yeah, good deal. Gotta get me some of those".

      • going to take something absolutely incredible on eneloops for me to sit back and say "Yeah, good deal. Gotta get me some of those".

After that deal, I think in future they'd have to be free & handling them out to satisfy an OzBer's eneloop thirst.

  • So…
if any of you have extra eneloops..and an extra charger… I am accepting post birthday gifts right now. Would love to see what's this eneloop craze is all about. :P

    • +4

I might have an extra charger and one spare 8 pack of batteries for you if you'd like to exchange birthday gifts with me.

Just had my birthday and I like to recieve cash, I think about $25 would be an appropriate return "gift".

  • +1

They should just clear these and make way for the real Panasonic batteries.

Eneloop is no longer a marketed brand in most other countries.

  • Hey guys whats the usual postage time for dse online

    thanks

  • -1

I like voting for these things, no matter what the price just to see if it can get over the last deal voted. Its the ozbargain way

    • +2

How can this be the ozbargain way? We grab our votes as tightly as hold our coins, either pos or neg.

Voting on every post makes the whole voting system meaningless, if we all do the same.

      • Absolutely agree. It's a democracy! Pity it didn't work out the way I wanted at the last Federal Election tho :(

  • I haven't even received my charger and tropicals yet :/

  • -1

    WARNING OZBARGAINERS:

I attempted to order a couple of packets of Eneloops in the last few minutes and at the Checkout stage, noticed that SOMEONE ELSE'S name and address appears in the Billing Details drop down menu! It even offers up the person's mobile number pre-filled when I choose to add a new address.

So, it seems that Dick Smith's back end customer database has cross-linked my details with someone else's. Very, very disturbing.

I have logged this with Dick Smith and await a reply to this security issue for which I can expect a call within 24 hours. I asked whether or not this time window for a reply was the same for all issues (whether they be sales or security related, but my question was not understood. Unfortunately I dealt with an international call centre (a busy office could be heard in the background) and met with a rather frustrating 'English-not-a-first-language interpretation issues. The call was answered within 5 minutes however, which wasn't too bad.

I asked whether or not someone else in the online sales department might assist me to procure these items (ie. allow me to Click and Collect the items from a local store) but this was refused. ie. they don't deal with anything apart from online orders. This was the Online Sales Team number 1300 366 644.

So in conclusion, I am very concerned that my personal details are now interlinked with someone else's, which may or may not include credit card details I have used on previous transactions.

    END OF WARNING.

    • +3

Hi ganymede68 - We have not had any other reports of such experiences and need some more information to investigate.

Can you please private message us with your email address and customer account name?

      Cheers,
      DS.

    • +1

My advice would be to get a PAYPAL account and never enter your CC details again

    • Just thinking out loud … you've probably checked anyway. Someone could have used your PC/browser and those are details the browser stored and pre-filled. Maybe you have a e.g. LastPass account and that has been compromised instead. It's obvious it is not someone you know, but maybe you left your account session open somewhere else and someone went in and changed your details even if unintentionally.

      • Hi All

I received a response from Dick Smith after contacting them by phone:

Thank you for taking time to email Dick Smith Online.

With regards to your inquiry, we apologize for the inconvenience caused, due to a website issue that we have at the moment

A short time after that I received an email sharing that they had created a new account on my behalf, via which I could make the transaction.

Thanks to the Dick Smith rep who contacted me here as well as your online team.

To Momoni - thanks but my notebook is very much a personal machine only, and it seemed to be a backend problem and hopefully not more than that.

        Cheers

  • Is there anyone wants to sell some spare batteries? Happy to pay some premium for 6 (or 8) of them, please PM me, thanks! :)
