$149.74 Aldi 36v Cordless Line Trimmer ($50 off Previous Pricing for 36v Garden Tools)

90

$50 off previous Aldi 36v Cordless garden tool pricing. Products are Gardenline brand, and warranty/replacements/parts are supported by Einhell.
3 year warranty, and 60 day satisfaction return ability. I priced a spare battery for the Line trimmer -$100 delivered. Been to a couple of Aldi's on the Central Coast, seemed to have at least 4 of everything, except for the mowers.

36V Cordless Lawn Mower $249
36V Cordless Chainsaw $199
36V Cordless Hedge Trimmer $149
36V Cordless Line Trimmer $149

I bought the line trimmer this arvo, and I am pretty blown away by the power and ease of use. Might think about tracking down a mower.

  • How many Ah are the batteries?

    • +1

      2.6Ah

I like Lithium battery tools, but find it lacks power when it comes to garden tools. Petrol powered is stinky and noisy, but when it comes to power it is second to none.

Just buy an all in one for $160. Done.

Meh… What about this for $97 http://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-garden-18v-cordless-lithium… with a pack of these for $9.98 http://www.bunnings.com.au/bosch-line-trimmer-blades-for-art…
= $106.98 for a great product which will do the same thing, minus having to use line.

  • $149 for the tool but $100 for the battery….
36V has more power, but how long does the battery last?

    • $149 includes 1 battery.
It says on the box 45min no-load run time. When I rang about the spare battery they said I would get about 30min of work out of it. I did 25min this arvo, finished the front and back before any of the battery drained.

      • Do all the tools come with a battery at the prices you listed? If so these are a pretty good deal.

        • Yes, 1 battery and 1 charger comes with each tool.

    • A better question: how long will the battery last in 12 months time?

  • +1

or get a Stihl - do it properly

    • Any details on the Stihl, price, warranty, run times etc?

      • +1

        More. More. More. More

  • I paid 200 a few weeks ago :O
Does anyone know if Aldi will refund the balance? Anyone tried it before?

    • +3

They have a no questions asked 60 day refund policy. Just get a refund and buy again maybe a different aldi store lol.

      • Cool.. thanks for that. Will give it a go.

    • How's it been?

      Is it powerful enough?

      How's the battery life been?

Is it one of those ones where the line automatically feeds through as it runs out?

Basically, can you give us a mini-review please?

      Ta.

  • Anyone out there used the mower?

  • +1

I am going to buy this today. I have the 36V lawn mower and love it. The batteries are interchangable if it helps anyone.
My 450sqm lawn needs slightly less than 2 charges of one battery, so it will be a great addition to my lawnmower.
    Thanks OP.

    • My 450sqm lawn needs slightly less than 2 charges of one battery

that seems like a huge inconvenience to have to fully charge a battery half way through mowing your lawn. Once you get the second battery this will be resolved but then there won't be enough juice for the line trimmer? You should look into 3 batteries?

I have a similar sized lawn so thanks for the tip: never move away from petrol

      • Sounds like your a rep for big oil!

Use the line trimmer, then put it on charge (or trim the arvo before)
Mow for 1 battery, have a beer and a break until the 1st battery is charge, finish mowing. Or fork out for 1 more battery.

        • I know, it sorta does, but I'm not… I promise!

I just can't see the benefit in switching to electrical power tools yet. I use 5L of petrol every 6 months - that is such a small strain on the environment. I'm sure I'd save more petrol than that in one tank if I just took it more easy when I'm driving, so my petrol consumption can't be criticised because of my lawn mower.

Plus, the convenience of petrol is undeniable. Not having to remember to put the battery on charge the night before you mow, not having to stop and wait while the battery charges between mows, switching batteries between tools and charger all the time. And if anyone comes back with "I leave the battery on charge permanently" then they have no right to use the environment as an excuse.

Sometimes my lawn is so thick even the petrol mower has to give it a bit of a rev to get through it. I couldn't see an electric mower pulling through with the same power. In time I'm certain everything will go electric and batteries and electric motors will improve but for now if you don't have petrol in your lawnmower then you are giving yourself a headache more than you need to.

  • Is new line readily available for this model (Gardenline)?

Or get something like this with 5 years warranty, and a brand name that's much more proven. Made in Japan too.

    http://www.vektools.com.au/echo-outdoor-equipment-tools/echo…

It's $229 on their ebay page.

  • Got the mower for $199
    Line trimmer for $139
    Hedge trimmer for $75
Chainsaw is on $119 but still finding a use for it so wait for few more days might be a price like the hedge trimmer.
All these still cheaper than 1 cordless line trimmer form stihl.
