I have the same thing. I noticed they have a limit of 20 referrals per user per month - that's pretty ambitious.
The referral code appears to only be letters, not alphanumeric. 1,500 points are added 7 business days after the referee pays their subscription fee.
Note the Eva Mattresses referral benefit is no longer "$125" for referee. It's now only $50 for an Eva mattress or Everyday Sofa.

Has something changed with the meta quest app referrals recently, the referral links seem to be coming up as invalid. Perhaps you now need to own the app before you can refer or something? Ah… I see, so it never really worked. No I have never received a credit for an app I didnt own, actually I seem to have only had one referral accepted through the Ozbargain app referrer, and that one has not resulted in a credit as yet (I think it was only a recent one).
I own a bunch of apps but didn't actually realise you weren't meant to tick the referrer box for apps you don't own, I'll have to go back and remove those.

The AMEX Platinum Card has two referral fields, one for 200k points the other for 275k points.
However the number of points you get seems to be dependent on some sort of algorithm from AMEX’s side rather than anything unique about the referral link itself. At the moment, referral links from both direct to the 200k offer, at least for me.
These two referral fields should be merged together.
We've audited the 275 and will do on a regular basis going forward. As of writing this, seems to be OK.

Judging by the comments in the related deal, different people are being targeted with different referral amounts. Some people's referral bonus is $75, whereas some others (such as you) have a referral bonus at $100.
I think the the OzBargain referral description should be updated to reflect the three different referral amounts that seem to be out there for the current campaign ($75, $100, $125).

Good afternoon - I had a notification to renew my referral link for OneDrive and I can't seem to find my referral any more - I googled it just in case but having no luck. The ozb instructions on the pop up say: Visit Manage Storage and click on "Get Free Storage" next to Referral bonus. I go to that page but there is no "Get Free Storage" link anywhere on the page. @neil: It seems like there's more to this than I first realized. With the updated Meta Horizon app you now also have to be friends on Meta first with the person giving out the referral before you can accept the referral link.
So it looks like the whole Meta referral process on here will need to be changed.
At the moment when you click on a referral link and are taken to the Meta game page you are blocked by a message to first connect with the user and that you must follow each other before accepting the link. But there's no way in that message to add the referrer and when you close the message you loose the referral link.
So on here there will need to be a process to first prompt people to connect with each other on Meta, and then get the referral link from them so that they can properly accept their referral.
There is a shareable profile link that can be generated out of the app, not sure if that helps? For example this is what mine looks like: https://horizon.meta.com/profile/pixxelpusher
I've tested it in the old Meta app and it doesn't require becoming Meta friends first, so if using the older app the current process still seems to work.

I've tested it in the old Meta app and it doesn't require becoming Meta friends first, so if using the older app the current process still seems to work.
After discussion, this is probably jumping through too many hoops to get this working. We will shut down Meta referrals shortly unfortunately. Let us know if the process changes in the future.
Yeah it is a bit of a hassle now. Trying to think outside the box, could it be setup like Zip is on here, where clicking on the link sends a private message to a random referrer? Then in the message back the referrer can give the referee their Meta account link to follow each other, and the game referral link or headset referral link depending on what they need.
Because with Zip it's a kind of similar 2 step process, you need to give each other your mobile numbers (basically be contacts of each other) and then in the Zip app the referral is generated off the mobile number.
So the current game page on here could stay the same, but instead of sending people directly to the Meta site with the referral, it could bring up a message box which will message a referrer for the game. And the same thing could be done for the headset referral.

The problem was the links were requiring referrer details in the signup process. Can see the signup process now doesn't ask anything so have switched to links, expired all referrers and notified.

Hi moderators, would it be more appropriate to change the way this type of Origin Energy referral is handled on OzBargain?
The Origin Energy referral terms and conditions has the following clause:
- You must only share the unique referral code with your friends (the people you know). Your referral code must not be shared with people you don’t know, including on third party sites for example through promotion on public forums outside of your personal network. The referral code also must not be used in paid ads. If your referral code is shared in any of these ways, then no credits will be paid as a result of any New Customers signing up using your referral link.
When I read this, it sounds like the current system of allowing users to paste in their referral links would violate this clause. Would it be more sensible to change the system to a PM-based system, similar to the system OzBargain currently uses for ING (especially considering ING has a clause in their referral terms similar to the one above)?

Also, if the system is changed to a PM-based system, I think there should be a message on the screen for turning on/off referral PMs that the Origin Energy referral link will display the referrer’s first and last name when opened.
At this point, we are going to leave Origin referrals as links. The T&Cs are similar to many others in our system and at this point, we haven't had any reports of Origin cracking down specifically on OzBargainers.

The system is set up to expire every 90 days but I can see even the older links still work despite the app changing the link. The shortened drd.sh redirects to identity.doordash.com links where I think client_id is what identifies the referrer no matter if the shortened drd.sh changes.

Vinomofo is cancelling credits to referrers.
I got an email advising I had a $25 credit back in April. It was showing in my account but when I went to redeem it some time later it was gone. I emailed their CS and was told it had been reversed due to the referral coming from a website (against their policy).
I changed my referral to a different Vinomofo account and another referral credit in August was also reversed.
But they are happy to score a new customer and give them a referral credit in exchange for an order.
I suggest Vinomofo be removed from the referral system as they are being rewarded with new customer sign-ups while not honouring the referrer's credits.
Hmm, that's a tricky one. I'll assume they've scraped all of the ones in our system so switching to PM may be much of a moot point now. As the referee still gains a discount we'll leave system as code but have put in a warning for referrers.

There doesn't appear to be anywhere to enter the referral code, although the tick box for allowing to receive DM from users is still there?
ING doesn't let users advertise their code publicly, so you can tick the box for people to message you and you can then provide the code in in a private message.

The Cult Beauty referral benefits need to be updated, please. The referree gets £5 off (shows in the cart) their first order of £25+ when they sign-up with the link and code (the code is the name and digits at the end of the link). The referrer gets £5 credit added to their account to spend whenever they like.
If you’re also able to add that if you sign-up using the .uk.co website your credit won’t show on the .com site and vice versa, so to just stick to shopping on the site you signed up with via the whichever site the referral link was from, that would be great (I hope that makes sense!)

Seems like the $20 is for new signup irregardless of a referral. Thus it really is just a free pint for referrers. As there hasn't been a deal yet posted and the benefit is only for the referrer, we won't add it. I'd suggest posting the $20 signup offer for new users as a deal. Unfortunately, only for iOS at the moment so that might be limiting.

HelloFresh have changed the way referrals work.
Fundamentally nothing is broken in the ozbargain system here, but anyone who receives a referral credit (the person who supplied the code) now has to actively click a link from an email to receive the credit.
It isn’t automatically applied to the account anymore.
Obviously this is a dark pattern by HelloFresh to decrease the referral conversion rate because they know 50-80% won’t click the link.
It would be good to amend the instruction text to remind the person supplying the code that they now need to click the button in the email that comes through to receive the code.
Suggested additional text:
“To receive the referral credit, you now need to open the email when the credit is receives and click a button. It is no longer automatically applied to your account.“

Hello, can you please disable the referral system for Caltex.com.au? This referral system would be for when Ampol had the right to use the Caltex brand in Australia, but Ampol was forced to stop using the Caltex brand on 31 December 2022.
I'm seeing quite recent codes in there from the last month or so. Any idea where people are getting them from?
I suspect the recent referral codes are for the current Caltex referral scheme operated by Caltex.com, not for the old Caltex.com.au referral scheme operated by Ampol.

Not quite. As mentioned, referrals are highly variable, not just $50-60 max. It goes up to $110+
