The capsules in the box were expired so the gave me a new box of capsules for free.

These are not on the shelves but are either in storage or in the office. I rang Target customer service on 1300 753 567 and was told there are quite a few stores in Melbourne with stock. Possibly other states too but I didn't ask. Call customer service to check whether your local store has stock.

Not to be confused with the Delonghi Dolce Gusto Genio 2 - EDG465B which is selling at Target for $144 ($69 after cashback)

Same machine selling for $134 (before cashback) @ David Jones - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/135746

If you can't find stock at Target try Officeworks (Big W has stock but won't price-match - exception)

MOD: The URL is now changed to Target. It's not available online but might still be available in store. However as other OzBargainer has commented, Target has now claimed that they have no stock left.

        • It is a GENIO as per the terms and conditions, so I don't see how they could refuse.

      • +15

haha .. u have to around here

      • +5

Bankstown. It was the last one. I checked and their is an empty box on the shelf, they may have the machine in layby or something.

They also knocked down $4 on price bc the capsules were expired. They let me keep them too haha

So $65 all up. And $10 profit after cashback. Its been a good day today :)

Don't forget to add the $6 as other taxable income on your 13/14 tax return.

    • +9

      Professional

    • +2

That is if Gerry Harvey is our tax officer.

    • +2

Yes, justifies the claiming of the years ADSL connection…

    • Add $6 or $75 as other taxable income?

      • Once off payments are not considered as income hence are not taxable. :)

        • +5

I get a once-off payment every 2 weeks… Can that be tax free too?

        • From the same source? I assume it's from different deals.. ;)

  • 1 on hold.. thnx

  • Darn, my local store doesn't have any

    • +2

Call Customer Service on 1300 753 567 and ask them which nearby stores are showing stock.

  • Targets' phones will be running hot tomorrow morning.

Edit: Actually noticed many Target stores are open till 10pm now.

    • +1

My local Target is open until 10:00PM! To the shops….

      • Just realised many open till 9pm or 10pm. Happy hunting tonight.

    • Priced at $144 (orig $169) - $69 after cash back $75.

  • as per condition 2. "This offer applies only to the purchase of the following NESCAFÉ DOLCE GUSTO machines: GENIO, MELODY and CIRCOLO. (Note – PICCOLINI & MINI ME machines are excluded from this offer.) "

so not just this model for $75 cash back?

  • +4

Man, the companies sure are pushing their Capsule machines hard. Not surprising i guess, since they make massive, massive mark up on the capsules themselves (What was the figure? Like 100$ a kilo for the actual coffee? I cant remember).

They kinda make sense for an office, but who would want one to use at home?

    • +2

A friend of mine has one and somehow she thinks it isn't that expensive. I agree with you but she seems to believe that the $15 I spend on a 400g jar of coffee lasts as long as her 12 capsule pack or whatever she buys. Each to their own, I guess.

      • +6

Strange. you an get a kilo of freshly roasted specialty single origin coffee for $25 or less.. that's an awful lot of capsules lol.

Seems like nesso capsules work out at $120-140 a kilo. ouch. Thats one hell of a gold mine haha

still don't understand this new capsule coffee rise in popularity. I guess its easy? Bit depressing how much waste they must produce if the pods are one time use made out of plastic :O

    • Nothing is stopping you from getting two cups of coffee out of one capsule so lol ^^.

      • +1

        I bags the first cup.

    • +2

I have one at home and use it. Manual machines require much more cleaning and effort.

I think it'd make less sense in an office. A lot more coffee would be consumed. They are better off with decent auto machines and cheap beans.

      • +2

        Do they?

You have to fill both with water.

You have to empty the grounds or pod into the bin.

You have to fill the filter or drawer with fresh coffee/pod.

About the only significant extra I can see is you need to freshly grind some coffee (turn dial on grinder, that's it), and put the portafilter under the tap.

Hardly that much extra effort, for a much nicer cup and much lower costs.

        • For the same price machine, I find the pods taste better. I had a $200ish Breville machine that I barely used and ended up selling. The coffee it produced wasn't worth it. You could barely distinguish between different beans.

With my Nespresso machine, I just have to clean the milk frother every day and once in a while I'll give the machine a decent clean. I fill it with milk and a pod, press a few buttons, come back in a few minutes and it's done.

I might look into it again, because I'm getting a bit bored with pods. Whilst drinkable, they are still nothing on a decent takeaway coffee every now and then.

BTW, do you recommend a brand/model?

        • Intresting. I always found the pod coffee ive tried to be bland with a hint of plastic, no where near the quality of some freshly roasted beans

  • no idea how you found this OP, but thanks! a few left in the ACT. i think the phones are already running hot…i didn't even have to quote the product to the person on the customer service line!

  • 1 on hold! Thanks!

    SA Stores:
    Newton
    Tea Tree Plaza
Should apparently have some on hold too

I'm getting mine from Unley they may have another 2 as per their stock through the 1300 number but you will need to get them to check.

    • None in Newton and TTP. Maybe Unley but I doubt it.

  • +1

any in adelaide ?? called a few stores negative response

    • Look above.

  • +1

The following stores have no stock:

    Templestowe,
    Doncaster,
    Camberwell.

    • +1

When I called Broadmeadows had 11 if you are close to there.

      • +1

Calling them. been on hold for a while now. I guess all the nearby ozbargainers are calling up.

        Got Through. Sold out. :(

    • Add to this list Melbourne CBD and Chapel St

  • +2

adelaide update : - City store no stock
    TTP - none

  • +1

Called my local and got this response,
"Yeah just spoke to my team member whose on a call right now about the same product, and he says we dont have any"
    Ozbargainers are quick these days!

  • No stock at Westfield East Garden's according to staff. I just got off the phone.

  • none in stock at point cook and hoppers crossing stores :(

  • No Stock at the following:

    Hoppers Crossing
    Brimbank
    Watergardens
    Caroline Springs
    Highpoint

  • I don't really drink coffee but managed to get the CS let me know which VIC stores that potentially have it so I will share it here. He mentioned Broadmeadows, southland, campbelfield. You might want to ring them individually to confirm.

    • +1

Add Forest Hill, Chirnside Park and Fountain Gate to that list.

      • +2

Rang Customer Service and they told me that none of the stores in VIC has this in stock.

        • Yup, the CS said the same thing to me too. (Old stock discontinued in Dec.) Anyone found any in VIC?

  • +2

None in Sydney. Called about 10 shops.

    • +2

Don't necessarily go by what the stores tell you. If CS says they have stock they most likely do. It's just a matter of them finding where it is.

  • +3

    No stock in SA

  • +5

Here's the rundown I was given for WA:

    • Midland 2
    • Geraldton 1
    • Stirling 1
    • Perth 8
  • +1

Worth noting that due to the out of date capsules, lots of stores won't sell these unless instructed to remove the old ones and put in new ones. I imagine generally this would be at the manager's discretion,

    • +1

That's what happened to me. See my receipt above. I was given a brand new box of capsules as compensation.

      • Seen the receipt, hence the post. The stores that 'have stock' but speaking directly to the stores they can't find them, suggests they are likely 'quarantined'. Hence people may struggle to purchase any if they can't get 'approval'.

  • Customer service gave me a long list of locations with items on stock. But when I called each of them, none of them had any. Carindale Qld, supposedly had 5 in stock - but noone in the office can find them. Pretty ridiculous..

  • booked one

  • on hold with target!

  • None at Warringah Mall

    • i was just told there were 2!

      • +1

        O what… was I lied to?

        • I think if you ring up the Target stores directly they don't or can't check stock on a computer. I've rung up on a few times in the past and each they had to check the shelves in person. If there's only one or two items left sometimes it's hard to find.

  • +6

After getting your machine, don't forget to grab a free variety pack from Nestle too:
    https://www.nestle.au.simplicitycrm.com/editors/content.aspx…

    • in case the leaflet was missing from your box or you just want some free coffee capsules :)

  • +8

Just called Customer Service, no stock in WA at all.

Hopefully this will save everyone in WA some time - no need to call around the stores as there is none left!

    • +2

      But… 6 mins ago there was…. :)

      • +3

well, that was what I was told by the customer service.
Was told the product was discontinued for 4 months now etc and there is no stock in WA.
Got negged for telling what I know, will think twice before posting anything in future I guess.

        • +2

Nooo, please cont to post in the future, u just saved fellow WA ozbargainers (like me - was just abt to go to my local store) fuel money, and time.

  • non in burwood NSW

  • +1

    Nrvermind

  • Rang up Broadmeadows and was told none in stock :( maybe too overwhelmed by calls!

  • None at southland, waverley gardens, or forest hills
    This is in VIC

  • Was pretty excited until I found out the dolce gusto capsules aren't recyclable. To me it seems like an excessive amount of waste.

    • +1

So, if something isn't recyclable, you don't purchase it? Full stop?

  • Apparently none in NSW according to the customer service line

    • Sigh I can't believe this. I called my nearest store 25 minutes ago and the call just dropped after being on hold for so long. Typical NSW customer service, they probably had none anyway.

  • Any at bankstown?

    • There is an empty box , they may have it on display somewhere

  • +1

anything for a quick profit.. :), I wonder if you can get compatible capsules..or do it the ozbargain way.. make your own capsules.. Lolz

    • My local Cheap as Chips sells a pack of reusable pods for about $5. They are made of pretty durable plastic with stainless steel filters. Maybe worth a look for some people?

  • There were 3 left at Warrawong NSW according to CS, but on ringing the store they've all gone this afternoon! I was too slow!

  • no stock WA: Perth CBD or Bullcreek.

Rep told me that system shows stock in Midland and Armadale stores but call to check as she said the same about the above 2 stores.

  • -8

Let me suspect about the $6 on profit. As per the definition of "cashback" you are reinbursed from the amount you paid in the first place. Usually one need to upload a scanned copy of the invoce and then they will reimburse only $69 and not $75. Still the deal is great for the few lucky ones who manage find the machine in stock.

    • They will reimburse $75 or you can complain. I suspect Target are the ones losing a little money here.

      • -7

You can complain your "cashback" on the amount you paid. There is nothing forcing them to reimburse you more than what you paid. Look for the definition of reimbursing in the dictionary.

But be sure that the canonical idea of cashback (which by definition cannot be greater than the paid ammount) prevails in the general case of non-trap products.

Since here it is only $6 maybe they will not care and they will go ahead, since they are more than happy for having trapped a new fool into the far-from-bargain-coffee-capsule's world.

    • you must live in an alternate universe, patoruzu

      • -5

Maybe, and you are the one who lives in the real world where you can "come back" to places you have never been before and people can "give you back" things you did not give them in the first place. Neat.
Still, since the difference is only $6 maybe they pull the trigger as it is.
But what I am saying is that they have all the right to look at your invoice and decide to reimburse only the paid amount: if they do so they would be acting 100% legally. Claims would not apply.

        • It is not a reimbursement offer, it is a free $75 eftpos card with any purchase of the model. There is no minimum spend mentioned. Please read the T & C's

        • -2

So then the word cashback would not apply and it is incorrect claiming this deal is a cashback. It is something else then: not cashback.

  • +2

I rang Carindale, as CS said they have 5 in stock. the 5 they have are the new machines not the old ones, they searched high and low including in their 'banned and out of date items' and they don't have them there. so CS was probably looking at the new machine stocks instead of the old ones.
I bought the Genio 2 yesterday and got sad when I saw this bargain posted, but since it looks like I couldn't have gotten one anyway I am not so sad now

    • I spoke to CS about an hour before you did, and I specifically told them it was the older one and not the newer one. They confirmed the price at $69 too. Though, I had the same luck when I called through to Carindale.

  • +31

The lady at Burwood NSW is freaking out at the number of callers enquire about this machine :)) At least 30 callers in the last hour and it's not funny anymore she said. She thought this is some kind of sick joke! LOL That's right, Ozbargainers are DDoS attacking Target telephone system.
