The capsules in the box were expired so the gave me a new box of capsules for free.

These are not on the shelves but are either in storage or in the office. I rang Target customer service on 1300 753 567 and was told there are quite a few stores in Melbourne with stock. Possibly other states too but I didn't ask. Call customer service to check whether your local store has stock.

Not to be confused with the Delonghi Dolce Gusto Genio 2 - EDG465B which is selling at Target for $144 ($69 after cashback)

Same machine selling for $134 (before cashback) @ David Jones - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/135746

If you can't find stock at Target try Officeworks (Big W has stock but won't price-match - exception)

MOD: The URL is now changed to Target. It's not available online but might still be available in store. However as other OzBargainer has commented, Target has now claimed that they have no stock left.

  • Just went to OW, refused price match as it was a clearance item apparently. Might try a different store tomorrow

    • Yeah try another store. I had no problems.

      • Great to hear, will be at my next nearest local as soon as I can tomorrow.

Out of interest, what did you show them? A printout, a screenshot from the phone, or just told them?

        • Just my phone

  • tried OW 2/2 refused ~_~"

    • A few ppl have had no luck at OW now. So I have uploaded my receipt in the hope that you guys can use it to get them to honour the deal in conjunction with the Target website linked. :)

      http://tinypic.com/r/14o0ric/8

      • i already tried with a reciept…didnt work, even had the link to the $69 on the target website but they all said they need to load it

      • Hey Jinx, can you post the link to target website which shows this product so i can show them for a price match. Thanks.

  • Well I got mine at OW, just showed them a printout of the page with the price and they were happy to beat it by 5%.

However, I have a question for everyone who got theirs at OW
How did you guys go about completing the online entry registration?
It asks for a Receipt Number, which is maxed at 10 digits, but the officeworks receipt has 16 digits

    • +1

I used the RRN number not sure if that was right or not.

They have a copy of the thing anyway

      • Mmm, besides the 16 digit number below the barcode, the only other numbers on the receipt is the ABN, phone number and team member number

I guess I'll just input the first 10 digits and hope they don't make a big fuss out of it from not realizing their own promo page's limits

        • +1

The last 10 digits would be more appropriate since they are unique.

        • Hmmm that makes sense I guess, but I don't think their system would allow me to redo the registration form and do another print though, hope it works

    • Definitely the RRN.

      • No RNN on my receipt from OW, just ABN, phone numbers, team member's number, date/time and the 16 digit number under the barcode

  • Would this still be possible tomorrow? ==" I'm so late!! But I really need a new coffee machine!

    • +2

never late dear son… Officework it

  • +3

Just got 1 from target merrylands…was a display piece… The duty manager said he had got 20-30 calls in 1 hr asking about it… They informed everyone they did not have any as they had not checked the display one… LUCKY ME!!!

Now from where to but the refillable pods??eBay??? Any local business in Sydney providing them???

    • woolies …

It is said: Purchase a participating model during the purchase period from a participating retailer. on the website: https://secure.hmmpromos.com.au/DolceGusto/conditions.aspx, I wonder whether the officeworks is the participating retailer…

3.Retailers participating in this offer are those that operate from shop fronts in Australia, including both their shop front and their online store, (if applicable). Purchases made from a retailer who only operates an online store (with no shop front) are excluded from this offer.

thought $9 for wireless printer was the best deal ever. I have to reconsider this again.

    • +4

$9 wireless printer still wins imo. Greatest deal ever.
      Mine is still kicking along.

      • +1

It hurts every time I see someone mention the printer deal on ozbargain.

I let it pass thinking I wouldn't be using it. How stupid I was.

  • Good thanks for posting

big w will not price match target due to it being on clearance, but has stock in most if not all stores which is apparently expected to be reduced this week or next given that the best before date of the included sample capsules is either 03/2014 or 04/2014, not to mention that there are full capsule packs also past or near their bb date

    capsules - https://www.bigw.com.au/home-garden/small-appliances/coffee-…

note that cash-back purchases must be made by close of business on Sunday 11 May 2014

  • A lot of hassle for a machine which is terrible and won't be used much, best coffee is at a decent cafe only.

  • Yer I give up not really worth

  • Nothing @ Robina or Pacific Fair

  • +2

I reckon we have yet to see more lost leading deals with these machines, similar to what we're seeing with inkjet printers when the market becomes saturated.

The coffee capsules are priced like the ink cartridges but unlike the cartridges they are not refillable and not recycled.

  • Confirmed with the promotions team. All models in the Genio lineup are part of the promotion. Managed to secure one from Target Rockdale, yesterday. The staff had been instructed by the head office to remove the model and not sell it.

  • +2

Thanks just got one from OW $65. The staff was happy to price match.

    • What did you use to get them to price match? The picture of the receipt from Target?

      • I gave them the target website on my phone. The girl at cashier double checked the model number. She also noticed the expiry date (04-2014) and called her manager after she finished with my checkout but I'm not sure what they are going to do with rest of the stock.

  • Ppl can also try Harvey Norman, just got one for $69… not as good as Officeworks $65.55 but still a good price

    • mate which Harvey did u get it from?

      • Order it online using the $5 newsletter voucher and call them for a price match , they usually are pretty easy with that

        • I have also tried Harvey Norman in the Melbourne city but also got rejected. The cashier said no straight away after she heard Target. Asked her why not, why can't she price-match. She said Target price is ridiculous, there's no way she will sell it at that price and then laugh…..

        • Report Harvey Norman to ACCC.

They advertise "price-matching" at Harvey Norman, but then refuse to actually price-match.

          Report them here:

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/140564?page=2#comment-1940…

        • so u ordered first and paid full price then call them to change the price??

  • +1

Price match finally accepted at Box Hill South OW no questions asked. Denied at Vermont Sth though

    • Why did OfficeWorks deny you?

Report them to ACCC & NSW Fair Trading!

OfficeWorks staff illegally keep pulling this rubbish all the time. Need to stop them.

      • At the first store, apparently it's a clearance item so they can't price match it and at the second, they said that head office told them they couldn't price match it.

Dodgy, and it's happened in the past before. I'll send an email or something to Consumer Affairs but I doubt it'll do anything.

Maybe next time I'll ask OW to put it in writing.

        • +6

Why report them to ACCC & NSW Fair Trading?? They didn't do anything wrong

they did.. its clearly written on their condition, "Excludes stock liquidations, customer special orders, contract pricing and competitor clearance products…"

and the Coffee Machine is listed in "Clearance" category, Officeworks are eligible to deny the price-match for competitor clearance products. It's not DODGY as the purpose is not selling stuffs lower than the cost price.

        • +1

Maybe next time I'll ask OW to put it in writing.

Officeworks will not put anything in writing.

Officeworks are even dodgier than Bing Lee, and break the law by refusing to Price-match, as per their TV & newspaper advertising.

Report Officeworks to ACCC & NSW Department of Fair Trading for illegal conduct. Make sure you specifically mention the Store Manager's Name in person when you Report them.

I reported Neil (Store Manager) from the Officeworks Pitt Street Sydney CBD Store, to both ACCC & NSW Fair Trading.

I'll send an email or something to Consumer Affairs but I doubt it'll do anything.

          Wrong.

Officeworks will get a massive $100,000 Fine by both ACCC & NSW Fair Trading.

'All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.'

    • Is it possible to get the receipts from you? Want to go to the Box Hill south one but worried about getting rejected? Thanks

      • Sorry not at home currently, will upload later.

However, if Head Office do send out an email about the pricematch to the store, they might refuse and no receipt will convince them (happened to me at another store)

  • I picked up 2 from Officeworks. Contemplating a third.

    • Which Officeworks price-matched you?

      • Caroline Springs in Vic

        • wish u know only 1 claim per participating model purchased is permitted per household

        • 6.One claim per participating model purchased is permitted up to a maximum of five claims per household, provided each claim is made separately with a completed claim form with proof of purchase & barcode attached.

          • One claim per participating model purchased
(meaning you cannot make multiple claims on the one purchase, key word is purchased)
          • 5 claims per household
(another indicator that you can make multiple claims on the same model, since there is only 3 models to choose from)
          • Jessica from Delonghi promotions confirmed that you can make 5 separate claims on the same model.
        • you sure?? For my understanding, "One claim per participating model purchased is permitted" means only 1 claim for one model per household, and u can get 4 other claims on a different model

        • If you remove the word 'purchased' and limited the number of claims to 3 then you may have a point. They could have worded it better I agree. I did call Delonghi to clear up any confusion.

        • Do I have an understanding here, if you have 3 buys on one receipt, it is still acceptable?

  • +1

[Victoria] Just got big w at south land to match the price, they still had heaps in stock.

  • -4

Has anyone ACTUALLY had a Cash-back claim paid yet?

Has anyone received a Cheque from Delongi?

It may all be a scam. Imagine if you lodge all your paperwork online for the cash-back, yet no cash-back cheque actually arrives.

What you gonna do? Sue them!?! LOL

    • +1

Delonghi is a legitimate company. The bad publicity resulting from running a "scam" will deter most companies from doing the wrong thing.

      • -1

        Wrong.

ACER (huge company) ran a cash-back scam last year and didn't pay anyone anything:

        http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2126926

        • +1

I received my cashback from Acer

        • -1

          I guess we'll see.

When do they claim they will send Cheques by?

Also, another big company (Bing Lee) running a scam of sorts:

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/140277

        • Do you even know what scam means? Bing lee didn't scam anyone In the first post. Perhaps you should update your vocabulary first before making all these misleading statements.

        • Yep, ACER was definately running a SCAM

        • I received cashback also.

        • So did I.

    • Yeh. lets setup a claims website, buy an SSL certificate, get a 1300 number and receptionist so I can stealz your details

  • +1

Just got the display one from Target @ Rhodes for $69.. Lady @ the counter was saying lots of ppl call y'day asking about this…lol..

    • they usually give an extra 10% off for display models :)

  • Denied on price match at Braddon Office Works. They wanted to check the website. I said it was instore only and referred to my print outs of the Target receipt and the Office Works price match receipt someone posted but she said she couldn't refer to copies or call the OW store to verify the receipt. She called Target and they advised her the $69 price was an error as that was meant to be the advertised price AFTER cashback.

I called Belconnen Office Works and they advised they would need to call Target and confirm they have it in stock.

    edit

And most of the Canberra Target stores (I didn't call Weston Creek/Woden I think) this morning said they didn't have the exact model in stock any more, only the newer more expensive one.

  • I just went to OFFICEWORKS PITT STREET, SYDNEY CBD store.

NEIL, the idiot Manager, refused to price-match as he said it's a Clearance item.

    I disagreed.

I then showed him the receipt print-out from Officeworks Victoria. He said "that is irrelevant".

I then told him I would be reporting him, by name, to Officeworks Head Office.

So if you get a "NEIL" from Officeworks Pitt Street, don't ask him for help - he will not help you.

  • +3

Tried officeworks and big w- showed them the target price on my phone. They said they can't price match clearance items… People at officeworks tried to first argue that the models are different even though the numbers were same LOL

  • +1

Got Refused by two different OfficeWorks,

Cambellfield kept me waiting for 30mins then manager said it wasn't the same model, I told it is the exact same model but he wouldn't listen and quickly said bye

Coburb said they had to call to find one in stock, he tried 2 Target stores then said he was missing out on his lunch and I felt bad

    • +2

It would be a lot easier if these idiot Officeworks managers didn't think it was THEIR personal money. Because it isn't.

When they price-match, there is no way they will know what store you price-matched from, nor any other details! So no-one can get into trouble.

So, just do it, Mr Idiot Officeworks Store Manager! It's not your money!

If I show up with a photocopy of an ad (or a printout), which I did, that's proof enough to cover your ass if HQ ever want to audit you, Mr Idiot Store Manager. So, just price-match it already.

      • try calling them on the 1300 number… it's free delivery too

        • I just did.

          They refused to price-match, too.

        • same :(

        • I called moments ago and scored a third. Stock levels are low at Officeworks down to the last 2

        • +1

how did u do it mate? I tried they told me no…

        • +1

ya, how did you manage to order twice with free delivery too? I rang 1300 but the CS (Piya) said it must be an online product so that it can be price-matched. I directed her to Target website and she said no stocks online. Rejected my price-match…All kind of excuses. I told her there were many people managed to price-matched with OfficeWorks on the 1300 number and she said maybe there were plenty of stocks on Target online and you are unlucky. She said her product is online only. I said there's no where on OfficeWorks website saying this product is online. She then said oh I can asuure you that there are no stocks in store in the whole of Victoria! I told her I just saw the machines with my own eyes in the city store just now. She quickly said, oh then go price-match there. I said they won't and she said they will, no problem at all………….such a liar.
Can't be bothered to keep going in circles…..

        • +1

luck I guess.. and engaging in small talk helps

      • While I was waiting for them to call Corporate and eventually refuse, one of the staff members said it was to prevent them from getting audited and being in trouble, so they erred on the side of not pricematching anything.

Though at the other Officeworks I went to, they didn't care at all.

    • I must have gotten lucky then, went to the Greenacre Officeworks. Went and shown the floor guy the $69 price on my phone. He tried to use their wifi to search, but their internet was too slow, so went to the cashier and $65.55.

  • +1

I reported Campbellfield to the link you provided ianyelts (good stuff!)

The managers attitude sucked like I'm so busy your wrong, get out of here

Don't know if I should report Coburb though

    • +1

      Please report COBURB store, too.

  • If anyone can find me a Target store that has one in stock, Office Works says they will price match. Their arguement is that Target don't have any more available. If I can get a Target store no matter how remote it is, then I have a case.

    • You already have a case.

      Just report them anyway.
