The capsules in the box were expired so the gave me a new box of capsules for free.

These are not on the shelves but are either in storage or in the office. I rang Target customer service on 1300 753 567 and was told there are quite a few stores in Melbourne with stock. Possibly other states too but I didn't ask. Call customer service to check whether your local store has stock.

Not to be confused with the Delonghi Dolce Gusto Genio 2 - EDG465B which is selling at Target for $144 ($69 after cashback)

Same machine selling for $134 (before cashback) @ David Jones - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/135746

If you can't find stock at Target try Officeworks (Big W has stock but won't price-match - exception)

MOD: The URL is now changed to Target. It's not available online but might still be available in store. However as other OzBargainer has commented, Target has now claimed that they have no stock left.

Their agruement is that I cannot go into ANY Target store in the country and buy one of these so it doesn't apply. If I find just one in any store in Australia, that arguement is null and we can all take OW to court and win. At that point, I think they will back off. Just need to make sure that noone buys the last one.

        • -2

You do not need to go to Court to report them.

The Government will do it all for you, for Misleading advertising, for free.

The Government will then issue a Fine to Officeworks. There is no need for them to go to Court, for this.

So just report them anyway, it's free:

    • Ring Target customer service and enquire about stock levels in rural areas. There may still be stock there.

    • Officeworks will match online prices (plus any delivery fees), so it doesn't need to be in a store as long as there is stock online.
However they are not obliged to match clearance sales.

      • -6

        Wrong.

I called the call-centre and they lady said an email was just sent around to all Officeworks Stores to reject Price-matching of this Delonghi specifically, even though she agreed it matches all conditions of Officework's pricematch policy.

It's a SCAM by Officeworks and they need to be Fined by ACCC.

You need to report them to ACCC & NSW Fair Trading:

Mate…..settle down. It's a known fact that this is a clearence model. It's a matter of luck whether you can match one at officeworks. If not just move on. You are complaining of not getting a free coffree machine + $6. Who is performing the scam right now?

        • +1

Who is performing the scam right now?

          Lol funny, considering this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/140353

Careful ktks, he might report you to the accc too.

        • ;-)

    • There were 2 left in Target Sarina yesterday when I bought mine. No idea if they are still there.

  • Got one in from Officeworks (Keswick) in Adelaide. I showed them the printout from the webpage and the receipt linked earlier. They search on the Target website, but couldn't find the machine, and then googled it and found the link. Looked at that for a bit, and then said sure.

When I phoned the indian? tech guy at Coburb he said no prob I'll just check the site ON MY PC and it's yours. I printed the url and drove there. When I got there they couldn't find him for ages. The manager women came up and asked if she could help after I explained she said I needed to talk to someone from tech after 30 mins of waiting I said I was going to go for a quick smoke as to not stand there like an idiot pretending to be interested in there BS overpriced novelty crap.

When I came back in she must have talked to him, as he said he must first call up and find stock at one of the stores. He also said there’s usually someone that does this and he wanted to go on his lunch, and causally this is a pain in the arse

Reading between to BS, To me it just seemed like they were trying to scam me at all costs

thanks for posting. mother's day sorted for $2 (bought her a pack of the cappucinno capsules to go with it for $8). last year she got a modem router that I bought for $85 and got $100 cash back on.

    • +1

      Where/when did you get it?

      • officeworks Capalaba QLD first thing this morning, actually checked my receipt and they did it for $65.55.I showed them the URL thingy or whatever it is called on my phone showing $69 but it said in store only. she tried calling Carindale and couldn't get them so the manager said to pricematch. a family member got a couple too at the same price :)
none left now though. so I made a small profit on her present even after buying capsules.

  • +1

OW don't have to price match on clearance items per their T&Cs, but they did on account of the fact the capsules inside expire this month…so I picked up 2 (in 2 transactions) and will put them through as 2 unique claims for a +$12 return. Thanks OP

    • +1

      Which one?

      • Doncaster

      • +6

        It's not a Clearance item.

        examine the webpage properly

I was also rejected for price-matching at OfficeWorks - Melbourne, CBD. They took a long time to check the website and came back and said Target is selling a different model. Can't price-match. I gave her a printed screenshot and showed her the product on Target webiste. She saw that and decided to call Target city store to find out if they have stocks. The Target staff said Broadmeadows store may have some. She then said oh it's clearance product, we can't price match. Then another staff came and also rejected my price-match. So after 30 mins of wait, got nothing out of it :(

Oh, also showed that the printed receipts of both Target and Officeworks store. Both said the other OfficeWorks was wrong, they shouldn't be selling……………..

  • +2

What the hell? I was just at Big W trying to price match. They called up multiple Target stores who have said that they don't know anything about the $69 coffee machine which has to be bullshit given how many people seem to have been calling about it. Have Target head office called all stores and told them to play dumb…?

    • did they quote the target item code 52774232?
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/140564?page=2#comment-1940…

      • +1

Yeah, they found the online page themselves and seemed willing to pricematch it provided that Target could verify that they had been selling them at that price. The manager became unwilling to do it after 3 stores said they didn't know anything about the deal and one store said they were out of stock.

    • -2

Yep, Officeworks staff have been told to specifically deny all pricematching.

Officeworks & Target are both part of the Wesfarmers Group.

So the email has been sent by their Head-office to all their Group stores.

      Which is illegal.

So report then to ACCC for price-fixing and misleading advertising:

Our price match policy does not apply to Clearance prices

please read more carefully before commenting :)

what's illegal? not price-matching? sending emails?

note that price-fixing is not about refusing to negotiate or change prices such as price-matching :)

        • +1

Posting the same inaccurate crap should be illegal. Officeworks are within their rights and their own policy to not price-match on Clearance items.

        • +1

Didn't realise it was clearance seeing as it doesn't say it on the mobile website. Anyway I was just trying my luck just as others have been, with some degree of success. I am more annoyed at the fact that some Target stores are outright denying that the deal exists or has ever existed..

        • Didn't realise it was clearance seeing as it doesn't say it on the mobile website.

        • Oh you're right. My mistake!

  • +3

I think i found it in store for 49$..

    • +1

      Where and Which store?

    • lol don't tell him

    • +9

lol. ianyelts will report you to ACCC for lying if he can't find any stock.

      • +1

        hahahaha

  • +3

Yes Coles has it for $49 down from $119 , but that is the mini model which is not part of 75 cashback.

  • +1

    Report:
OW Box Hill South won't price match as they were told the model is different than the one in Target.
Even I point out the model no. Is the same EDG455B, they still insist theirs is newer version than Target's so can't do it…..

Beside, they put a cute young girl at the counter……can't argue with her…..Orz

But OW Nunawading is fine with it and beat it by 10% + ING direct pay wave extra 5%. Woohoo!!!!!

    • -5

Its exactly the same model in every way. Officeworks are crap.

      Report to ACCC for lying.

      It's free!

      • +1

Lol I just went to officeworks again, and now they claim an email was sent out to all stores this am stating the models are different and that no stores will be doing pricematch on this product.

They are clearly trying to avoid it. I don't mind if they say. "We can't pricematch clearance stock" but claiming that the product is different model to theirs in store when it is obviously the same product is just ridiculous.

    • +1

Just went to nunawading OW, spoke to someone in charge said no problems, then went to check out but an old grumpy woman said there was this email… Other young stuff even tried to argue with her for me, but the grumpy women printed out the email to show me…I argued that this couldn't be newer model cause you can see the capsule included in the pack is already expired, she then agreed to discount for me to take the capsule price off…what a joke.

if I got any other checkout person, would be fine.

  • Just got one at OW Woolloongabba for $62.10!

    • jus curious how did u get 10% off?

      • +3

        It's on the school booklist.

        • Funny that you say that unity1, I'm a school teacher so coffee is definitely on my booklist.

      • I'm not really sure, it just says 10% off for price matching on the receipt. Must have been a mistake….

        • i got 10% off too yesterday, thought i was special.
          same price for me $62.10
they must have clicked the wrong pricematch button :)

  • Anyone got idea about the receipt number for cashback? The receipt number maxium length u can type in is 10, but the receipt number of Target is 11. How to solve this problem?

    • I ignored the first 0. I don't think that's a big problem as you have attached a copy of the receipt.

      • The receipts from OW are 16 digits

  • +1

who was that person I saw this afternoon walking out with 8 of these machines from OW woolloongaba and left none for me..!! LOL. !!

    • 8??? Broden?

      • +1

I saw this guy with 8 boxes on a trolley as I was walking in the store and praying if he left something for me. Unfortunately I was unlucky.

  • I think this deal is expiring today… as Target is already sold out and was trying to Pricematch OW call centre, the staff told me there's an internal email sent out this afternoon to all staffs not to price-match this product.

There are still chances some staff didnt check the email yet today… but probably will check by tomorrow

  • Even though there is no stock anymore a +1 for the profit part. Well done!

  • +1

Would be interested to see a copy of this 'email' if it happened to be posted on some external site…
And ianyelts, have you tried contacting the International Criminal Court about it?

    • +2

ianyelts should contact the Prime minister Tony Abbott too, http://www.pm.gov.au/contact-your-pm
Im sure Tony takes price-matching clearance items very seriously.

      • +2

        Thanks.

        I didn't know that one.

        Just emailed Tony Abbott, too.

Was about to email Barry O'Farrell, Premier of NSW, but it said he is no longer the Premier.

Does anyone know the new NSW Premier?

    • Yep.

      I just emailed them here:

      [email protected]

      • lmao

  • +4

Settle down ianyelts it's alright and thanks for the late night laugh pure gold

    • +2

      I am deadly serious.

      What's the joke?

  • +1

my loot has arrived…. excellent service OW

    • Which "13 digit product barcode" are you using for the claims? All the barcodes i can see are more then 13 digits?

      • the one on the top of the box… the Tab with the SKU number. Count again

        • Are you talking about the the number starting with 8004399? I bought 3 machines and all 3 barcodes are the same? I would have thought they would be unique ?

        • Yes the 8004… Number, this identifies the product and confirms that you have a physical unit. Your receipt/invoice is the unique component.

        • Thanks!

  • Which "13 digit product barcode cut" did people use for the claims? All the barcodes i can see are more then 13 digits?

  • No luck for me at OW but thats OK, I dont really like the coffee out of these types of machines.

    • but you like the $6 profit don't you?

      • I prefer $10 profit

      • Lol sure, but its a but convoluted as it will be an eftpos card later at some point.
The Rebel deal has proven how annoying that can be! Not really worth it for $6 but the main thing is the coffee. I really just prefer my good old stovetop espresso maker or the local cafe. These pod machines put out a pretty "meh" brew. So I guess I wouldn't want one for the coffee even if it was literally free (+$6)

        • sell the machine on eBay :)
very broden.. I know. but if you don't like the coffee out of these cheap machines, its a quick fix.

  • Couldn't find this in the Target Melbourne CBD. They only had the 465B version.. thats $170 and also has $75 Cashback… but who's interested in that? :(

  • Went to Officeworks, was told its a differnt model? How did you guys manage to price match?

    • +1

By getting in quickly, before their management think out a stupid excuse and spread it over all OW stores.

  • +1

I got one of the last few at Perth CBD store on Tuesday but haven't had a chance to comment until now. Thanks OP for this great find!

  • +1

Sweet, they refunded me $8 for each unit because the pods were expired.. brings the unit down to $57.50. My profit margin keeps increasing.

  • OW auburn nsw has a lot but rejected for price match due target out of stock when he called.
Also OW near sydney uni has some but refuse to price match due to different model

    • Yes they used the same excuse here in north qld.. Claimed an email was sent out yesterday morning to not pricematch as they are different models. I stayed few times that it's the same pointing out the model number on target site and theirs… Yet they still claimed it's different?

  • Different model to what???? It's certainly not a different model to the $69 item on target website. So why are you guys accept ing that exuse?
If they want to argue it's a clearance item is a different matter

  • Picked up the last one in ow Milton qld. :)

  • +8

Got the last one from Forest Hill.. was the demo one so the guy at the counter reduced it to $50 then when he realized the capsules were expired then he further reduced it by $10 ..so at last got the machine for $38 after paying through ing direct for having a further 5% discount..Thanks OP

    • that's just incredible!

  • Checked three targets. No stock.all knew about it. Then went to nearest office works where there was plenty of stock and i was apparently the fourth customer for the day trying the price match but bla bla bla… No luck.deal should be marked expired now I would say.

  • Anybody that purchased through OW.. Which number did you use for the Receipt no? Is it the bottom one where the barcode is?

    • RNN

      • No RNN on my receipt from OW, just ABN, phone numbers, team member's number, date/time and the 16 digit number under the barcode
