Hi Skramit, and welcome to OB.

I personally believe you should have waited until the sale started, so you could actually quote return fares.

Not sure what value a one-way fare to an international destination adds to anyone's travel plans.

Also, I believe you shoud add 'one-way' to the title.

But thanks for sharing all the same.

as mentioned in other bargain posts, these cheap one way fares can be a good way of saving money on a long haul flight. or are helpful if someone wants to sinmply break up a long haul flight and have a stop over somewhere.

    • +1 Agree - OP should've waited until he could obtain more details as we don't really know how cheap it's going to be.

    • Better to post first (1 way fares) and update with return fares after the promotion starts. From my experience, one should book at the start of the promotion period (2am) to get better fares.

This is the 3rd post for the same deal. The other 2 posts ended up in the travel forum.

Thailand at that price is quite a coup…

I see what you did there..

  • Keep getting error404 after being in the 'waiting room' for 10 minutes. Will try again later.

edit: managed to load but they seem to no longer have the weekly/monthly view to check lowest fares.

    • MEL - KUL 12th Feb $169
      KUL - MEL 24th Feb $137

      $306 return
      + 20kg baggage each way & 1 meal each way, $372

      • Not bad, but it's not the be all and end all of prices.

        • I paid slightly more last year, about $450 each when including luggage, seat selection, tablet, comfort pack and food. This was for travel in March this year.

Really thought there were going to be more $99 fares from Air Asia, but this sale was a bit of a scam.

http://www.airasiaplus.com will show you a 2 week period.

      • thanks, but unfortunately doesn't work for me - perhaps searching too far in advance?
        keeps coming up with

We couldn't find flights for you!
Try to reload this page or search a different route.
To search again use the search box on the bottom

        • It's not by AirAsia and just scrapes the info. It doesn't find connecting flights. So you'd need to check flights to and from KL to Aust and to where ever you were looking at going to.

But it's useful to find the sweet spot for cheap flights.

I booked my SYD - KL for March 15 in the last sale for $280 return :)
    pretty happy with that ~

    • That is similar to what I got Thailand for during THAT SALE but it is good to use as yard stick as to whether this is best deal that AA can offer or not. After you add baggage seat selection and food then Thailand is Cheaper with Qantas thru Expedia brazil when Qantas is on sale at about $520 return!!

  • Just booked Perth - Tokyo (connecting @ K.L) return May 2015 for two people for $1006 total after some intense searching. Includes baggage but not interested at all in paying $148 to choose seats LOL.
Just in case anyone's interested I found loads of $99 each way flights Perth to K.lL and back between Feb and May $198 return (base rate) is pretty Damm good.

  • Do check out the Premium seat fares. I find a few at end March (around Easter Melbourne to KL) for $599 1 way. Comes with Complimentary Meal, Blanket and Pillow, 2kg baggage allowance)

    • Not bad if it is the night flight with almost lay flat seat
