      • +1

What time does it start? 1AM now and I only see 10% off.

    • +8

I can confirm it is 15% off Apple computers. Just put up the banners for the sale in my store.

Does anyone else feel it is a bit yucky when OzB is reduced to begging?

        • +3

Please Sir, may I haggle some more?

        • +1

          Moreeeee?!

      • opps didn't see other post…. good deal tho… do you still get extra 5% off if you work for woolies?

        • Nope.

        • But what you can do is use your Entertainment card or RACV Membership to buy wish gift cards at 5% off

      • Since I bought a Macbook Pro Retina on Thursday would the store refund the difference in sale price tomorrow?

        • -1

          No way..

Just an update, they did this for me today no questions asked.

PS4 + Watch Dogs + Wolfenstein for $568, would be good if there was a 10-12% code right about now…

    Dick has sales every day….

    • +3

      What? Really? I didn't realise…
Maybe i need to subscribe to their emails so i can get notifications every (second) day of their sales…

Dick Smith love women, women love dick! :-)

You'll need to do better than that.

  • DSE employees, any discounts of Magellan Cyclo 105 or 505 bike GPS?

  • Hmm. Match at Apple and use the American Express discount?

    • +2

The max discount they can give is 10%

      • The timing for me couldn't be better. I was going to go into Apple tomorrow and ask for a price match for a MacBook Pro Retina 13-inch and pay with Amex to get the extra $50 off.

'll ask for the price match of 15% and see how it goes

      • +1

Max discount a staff member can offer on the spot is 10% (ie. Goodwill), a price match with a retailer like DSE, Big W, JB was almost at store management discretion and if the local store had stock they would be price matched. As for an AMEX deal I know nothing.

Source: Was my job a long time ago.

  • +1

would this go in effect after 12mid night?

    • well i see the banner on the site, but the price is still the same.. as of now

    • Yep! It's live now - all systems go!

edit: oh yeah, only the banners are live for now.

I think DSE is preparing to compete with Amazon for the next year:

Is there any way to further reduce the Macbook price, like student price?

    • TRS if you're going overseas in 60 days.

      • This. I highly doubt they will firstly calculate the student price, then apply the 15% on top of that.

    • +1

Go to Woolies or masters and use Ing %5 or Amex (Masters $125 - $25 refund) to buy wish or DSE gift cards

  • +3

    Never to be repeated!!

  • Hrmmmm… I managed to get a flyer tonight on my way home before the guy in the shop said where you get that. I said out front. LOL wasn't meant to be displayed until tomorrow.

There are few exclusions based on what I can see.

1). Doesn't include already advertised lines (stuff in the catalogue etc.
2). You cannot get this at DJ's.
3). Headphones excludes Beats and advertised lines.
    4). Belkin gear excludes WeMo.
5). Excludes Dick Smith rechargeable batteries as they are included in the 40% off and not the 70% off DSE branded gear.

    • There is 25% off beats headphones

  • Is this good for gaming ?

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tvs/jvc-32-high-definition-led-t…

JVC 32" (81cm) High Definition LED TV LT-32N330

if not what is recommended, will spend $500 for a 32" gaming tv.

    • +1

Wow, with $500 I'd recommend you to get a computer monitor. Better quality panels and cheaper, so you can spend the excess on a better pair of speakers.

      • Yeps a nice and slick IPS panel :)

        • I'm planning to get a ps4, from one of these deals, I'm not sure if I can hook a ps4 to a computer screen?

        • +1

          HDMI my friend…

        • im currently using my ps3 with my viewsonic vx2370smh led monitor. It work s so well and the colours are amazing on this IPS quality monitor!!! The monitor is well reviewed and i got it from msy for 210 delivered!!!! will play ps4 on it some day when i get one….
EDIT: the monitor has inbuilt speakers and they work well. ps3 connects via HDMI easily, painless. THere is a 27 inch verison if you are interested, MSY can deliver it to your doorstep. It is the vx2770smh led. I think it goes for under 300

is this the 2014 model or the 2013 model?

    • You can't really tell…

They don't list the processor speed.

      • That should be the 2014 model

    • its 2014. (mid 2013 is for 999)

  • Is the 40% off headphones on selected models only? Was hoping to get a good deal on the sennies momentum-on.

    • See my post point 3). I will edit to state headphones.

  • +2

The website banner says 15% off macs, but when you go into the sale section, most are only 10% off. What is the deal?

  • So with the sale, Under 15% off fitness products by blah blah blah Samsung is the SAMSUNG Galaxy Gear Fit Black
But its the same price as always…

  • Mac mini removed from sale.

    • +25

Really. Getting negged for pointing out that Mac minis are not available.

Neggers - go get a life.

      • -1

        …and a job

    • That's not neg worthy, c'mon man.

  • Never mind..

  • Sale says instore or online but it says out of stock online?

  • +12

Isn't it a dodgy practice for DickSmith to 'conveniently' pull some products off-line whenever they have this 15%-off sale?

Yesterday they had a mac mini online so I bookmarked the page, today the same page renders "Page not found".
I understand they don't want to discount it by 15% - this won't make them the profit, but hey, they should have rather said "15% off for those macs that we want to get rid off". Other macs are either "not found" or "Temporarily out of stock" - and it's not the 1st time they're pulling this trick.

    • +1

When I went to bed at 2am the Macs were still on 10% off. Now I wake up 6 houts later it's 15% off but almost every model of Mac is 'temporarily out of stock'. Am I meant to believe that it all sold out within that 6 hour window?

      • Same here. Looking forward to purchase macbook pro ME865X/A. Checked this morning about 6:30 its out of stock. Wonder if it can be purchased in store.

        • +1

That's the model I was after too. Just called up my local store (guy didn't know it was 15% off until I told him), they had some in stock and have put aside one for me. So I would start ringing around your local stores to see if they had stock.

        • Thats the optimal model with the 8gb ram and 256gb ssd combination, good for future proofing. The only model they have available is the base spec with 4/128 which is pretty average. I was looking at iMacs but they only have the base spec 27" one when only want a 21.5", I have been reading that the refresh won't be until very late in the year due to the broadwell processors delays..

        • Call them up. There were two left at the Chatswood store. Served by a very helpful guy too.

    • Fully agree … open communication is always better. The 15% off Mac is false advertising in my opinion … (as it is not off all Macs … just the ones they left on the page).

    • is there some kind of legality to this.
Can store advertise a product for sale and the announce a discount on the brand but remove the items and say they are out of stock.
Same with their ebay store how they increased the price and then had the 20% sale.
      surely it can't be legal?

  • Least their Telstra prepaid starter SIMs are half price, need more data.

  • +2

Seemed to have removed almost all Apple Macs from sale online.

  • +1

Certainly seems counterproductive for them to send an email to everyone screaming this deal, and then having pretty much every popular Apple Mac model "Temporarily Out of Stock".

  • +2

Looks like you can go to David Jones as well. link

  • +1

    Where is Mac Mini?

  • Are any of the headphones under $100 recommended?

  • +1

Ummm…dick plays the trick, "temporarily out of stock".

    • Yup, same here for what I wanted.

  • Just noticed ebay dicksmith is having another deal?

Enter code CDSH20 at checkout for 20% off ends 22/6/14

when I try to apply coupon, it doesn't work so i'm guessing its another upcoming deal???

    • i thought that ended on thursday. that was on for a week

  • just go instore and buy it

  • Just to confirm, which macs AREN'T available with the 15% discount?

  • Beware: Dick Smith jacked up the price for the HTC One M7 by $50 to $598. It was $548 before this sale PLUS 20% off ebay deal.

    • +1

      Isn't that illegal?

      • thats what I though but I guess if its not reported no-one knows.

    • Kogan does the same sort of thing. A bit dodgy

  • Does anyone know if I can order a customised mac with the 15% off price? Or is it stock only?

    • don't think you can get 15% customised from DS. I might be wrong, but from my understanding, they never carry any custom unit.

Maybe, you can get it UN-Customed, and then custom it yourself or in apple store. i upgraded my RAM on 2011 model, bought the ram from crucial.com

      • I already asked this myself. Unfortunately, you can't. Dicksmith have no stock of custom unit. If u want to upgrade your mac, you better go to Myer(they also have sale on mac). They can customize your mac, but it's only 100$ off.

  • David Jones have 15% off iMacs for today only as well.

    EDIT: Stole triplezzb's thunder.

  • The site has died?

    • Yep.

    • Yup. This really annoys me… If a site is going to offer a deal like this then they need to have the servers to cope with demand…

  • Dick Dead?

  • I haven't been able to get a response from the Dick Smith web site for some time. It must have got ozbargained.

  • Bugger you can't order customised computers…. I wonder if the applestore will match this price for me…

    • I doubt you can order custom computers from any major B&M retailer they're all brand name pre-built. That's what an actual computer shop is for.

  • Dick Smith site is back.

Tried to pricematch Myer Chadstone, they won't do it for 15%

End up got myself a MBPr13" from DS chadstone while another guy is chasing for MBA.. Without hesitate, as soon as the staff mentioned in stock, I replied "DEAL !!!" Save $275+ for a 13" retina from $1849 to $1571, quite similar to refurbish price unit in Apple store.

Altough this is the latest version (late 2013 model) i understand that 2014 model will be release even in the next few days, but for the $275+discount on a brand new unit, i can't resist !!!

    • did someone neg me just because of unhappy that i got the deal? don't understand

  • If you're after Sennheiser Momentum On Ear headphones, the DSE eBay site has black and blue for $161 with free delivery. I couldn't use CDSH20 code on these. Was saying it had expired, though the site says its valid until 22/6. The main DSE website is doing them for $178 with 40% off today. A reminder that these are the on ear version, not the over ear model. Great price I believe.

    • A good price but disappointed they don't have the over ear momentums for sale.

  • +2

Fountain gate said the Playstation Headset 2.0 was included in 40% off headphones, but no stock. So I go to Dandenong who have stock but say its not included in the 40% off, and make me feel like a douche for being all wtf?!

This is why I hate dick.

    • Sorry to say, mate, but you've been truly dicked around.
