I've used the coupon 3 times. Not sure if that's good or bad lol

1st go got me 2 pairs of DC Shoes for the kids.
    2nd effort I went a Samsung Galaxy Tab3 10" and Samsung NFC/Wifi Camera.
3rd and finally (I hope) a wall charger for my GF's iPad and some LG Dual Play glasses.

I'll just concentrate on how much I saved.

Probably spent 7hrs trying to choose between the 10" tablet and the 8" 4G. I've even drove to HN to conpare. I'm glad that's over.

  • +1

Just spent around 30 minutes in good guys comparing the dyson stick vacuums. The dc59 wins hands down over the dc44 and dc35. Not even close in terms of performance really. Dc59 is much more powerful and has a bigger head.

  • Good guys didnt increase the prices of the items I wanted (i cant say the same for Dicksmith)

    • Same with Dick for me. In fact his eBay shop was actually cheaper than his website, even before the coupon.

  • +1

I bought a new design vita for 199$. I've been on the fence for a while but I decided to bite, particularly seeing as I have a number of ps plus vita games waiting to go.

  • another good one to look out for from The Good Guys are the Weber BBQ accessories, not normally discounted so with 20% not a bad deal

  • +2

Despite the negativity, all the items I was looking at are the same price today as they were yesterday. So I can't complain. Regardless, I just wanted to say, Dick can suck it!

  • +1

Just got back from Good Guys. Big pile of online orders behind the counter.

    • They told me Dyson's "have been flying out the door today". Not sure if the staff know why as your invoice says you paid full price lol.

  • +1

Bought a Breville food processor I've been eyeing. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121320… bought down to $366.92 delivered. Was planning to buy a factory-second version but post-discount this is roughly the same price as a factory second.
    Thanks op/ozbargain

  • Trying to buy a All-In-One printer (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hewlett-Packard-A9T80A-Envy-4500-…) but the code doesn't work.

The redemption code couldn't be used with your selected payment method
Please pay with PayPal to redeem the voucher

Do I go through and pay with Paypal? I've got this, an XboxOne and some thongs on Quiksilver so don't want to lose 20% across around $700 worth of stuff…

    • +1

Yes, has to be paid using Paypal. Once you're in the eBay checkout, add the coupon, hit Apply then hit Continue up the top right to proceed to Paypal.

      • Sweet, actually had to press PAYPAL (instead of Credit) for the voucher to apply. Hopefully got the points and 2% extra through cashrewards too (god knows how they re-imburse you).

Bought Xbone TitanFall for $447.20, Quiksilver thongs for $19.90, and HP Printer (wireless/duplex) for $56.80 (all before the 2% off).

  • Picked up logitech gaming mousepad g440 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Logitech-G440-Gaming-Mouse-Pad-/2…
$13.60 with free delivery from dicksmith. Nothing else really caught my eye tbh.

    • It's a good pad but a large area of mine has been grinded after 6 months of use. This grinded area creates a lot of inconsistent friction and is unusable for me. It's a shame since i really like fast, hard mousepads.

  • +1

Price matched goodguys at jbhifi for s5 for 680, samsung 48" h6400 for 1048…pretty happy with that! :-)

    • -1

you can get an s5 from kogan ebay for $565 -_-

      • +5

Not local 2 year Samsung warranty, just whatever Kogan passes off as warranty.

After a recent experience with them, I've learnt my lesson. It took Kogan just under 6 weeks to replace a dead Nexus 5.

On the other hand it took Telstra 5 days to replace a Nexus 5 for my wife. Star-track picked it up at Telstra's expense on the Monday, and delivered her a new replacement on Friday.

You get what you pay for I suppose.

        • Almost $700 now so not much saving.

      • Extra yr (local) warranty worth the difference..

  • Any good offer for desktop?

    • +2

      How about this

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-Inspiron-3000-Desktop-Series…

Original price $999, onsale for $699 after discount $550.

Almost bought it myself but got too many computers around the house already.

      Cheers.

      • Thanks. Bought it. $559.20

      • Bought also
        Thank you
        My parents are very happy
        :)

      • Kinda wish I needed a new desktop PC. :p haha

        • I was so tempted to get it so that I can rip out the mother board/CPU parts and upgrade my current old AMD gaming rig. I could then reinstall the AMD and motherboard back to it to create a second computer still good enough for general computing. Too late now I supposed :-(

  • any good cameras?

    • May not be good but I, alone it seems, went this one. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141257329783?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN…

WiFi and NFC. 16MP 12x zoom

    • Not really. Entry level Canon 600D twin is a good price.

      Nothing super decent unfortunately.

    • +1

What type of camera? I will repost what I posted in the Good Guys thread: Just been reading this best compact camera for under $250 (US) article on The Verge, this Sony Cybershot WX350 scores very well. Cheapest I could find was 308 imported from eGlobal so $259.20 for local seems to be a cracking deal.

  • Bugger, wanted to get the Philips HTL9100 soundbar from Appliances Online, just to find that they pulled it from their ebay website. Good Guys includes delivery so not much savings to be made if I was to buy it from Myers with a $50 voucher I've got. Thought I was going to get a good deal then.

  • Picked up a Dell monitor U2413 for $425. Sweet price.

    • Ugh. I bought it a week ago on the 15% off for $486. It wasn't even through Dell. Didn't expect Dell to do the 30% off and then combine with a 20% off.

Tbh, I don't think the monitor was worth $486. The audio quality out of the audio out 3.5mm port is very poor.

      • +1

Don't use the monitor for audio man… it there for your eyes.

It was this or the Asus PB246 (IIRC) but with the 20% off it was cheaper the Dell with better warranty and a 10bit panel.

  • The Good Guys have a few different listings for the Dyson Stick vacuum, models listed are DC59 (2 different listings), DC35, and DC44. Which one is better and are these good prices with the discount?

    • one of them is probably the animal version, comes with a small motorised head attachment for animal hair.

      • That's probably the one I need then, I have dogs. I have a Miele vac as well but it's big and heavy, just want something for quick cleanups.

    • I bought the DC59, the one without the pet tool.
Bingle was selling DC44 for $398.
On eBay with discount DC59, comes to $400. Not too bad I reckon. It's a better unit than the DC44.

      • So you bought the Dyson 201779-01 DC59 Stick Vacuum then, not the Dyson 64957-01 DC59 Animal Stick Vacuum then?

    • I used all 3 in store today. The dc59 is the best by a fair margin. The mini tool is ok, worth it for the extra $40 over the normal model I suppose

      • Can you use the stick models without the stick (i.e. as a handheld)as well?

        • Yes

        • But you don't get the same attachments do you?

        • OK, so is the only difference between the DC58 Animal and the DC59 Animal the stick? Have tried looking at specs on Dyson site but they aren't very helpful. I think the stick part is only around $50 as a spare part.

Looks like you don't get a floor tool with the handheld version, not sure how much that is worth as a spare part.

  • +2

    Bought an iPad mini @ $200 and a Miele vaccum @ $320.

    Did not need either.

OzBargain is the bane of my existence

    • Well done brother… LOL.

      • +5

…don't tell my wife about the two sets of headphones I bought last week too.

        • +19

its ok she didnt tell you about the two pairs of shoes she got either lol

  • +6

    Bought nothing yet. Still debating…

    • +4

I think a lot of us are… some would say we are mass debating.

  • +3

Spent the whole day looking and didn't want to leave empty handed for all that wasted time, so I got the following:

    ACME MADE 16" Backpack $55.98
    Toshiba HDD 2TB $99.00
    PS4 Dualshock Controller $51.98

Hoping CashRewards works for the 2% lol!

Going to destory the credit card now…

    • +2

ive spent the whole day looking but nothing. LG G2 is the only thing that tempts me.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261461456216?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN…

    almost bought dell desktop also.

Spent pretty much the afternoon browsing. Funny thing is that if I spent that much time working at work, I would have made enough money to more than pay for the savings :(

    Cheers.

  • pulled the trigger on the $200 ipad, even though it's 1st gen and much slower. I want to educate the kids on using IOS, our house is full of android currently!

    • +2

Why would you want to teach them ios if they already use android? The most common complaint I hear about android is that it's harder to learn how to use.

      • Agreed, if they can use Android, iOS is a walk in the park

      • +3

That's his/her excuse for buying the iPad. It is "for the children".

      • to broaden their exposure, being able to use both is useful, for anyone. With computers being so much a part of our every day lives nowadays, computer literacy is as important as English and Maths.
and yes ok, I want to play with an ipad too :)

        • Good lesson for them to see if apple is worth the extra money or not

  • I can't decide! Which one?

    $599.2 after discount - i5, AMD Radeon HD 8670M 2GB, 8GB RAM, 1TB HD, 6-cell 65WHr battery.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-Inspiron-15-Laptop-Non-Touch…

    $679.2 after discount - i7, GeForce 840M 2GB, 8GB RAM, 1TB HD, 4-cell 40WHr battery.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-Inspiron-15-3000-Series-HD-L…

Really similar, is an extra $80 worth it for a better CPU and graphics card but worse battery?

    • +1

Easy to figure which is the popular model. Look at the numbers of each sold..

      • Yeah, good point, I just saw someone else recommending the i5, I thought maybe there was something I was missing? I should just follow the pack haha

    • +1

Which do you need more - long battery life away from a charger, or performance ?

Can always buy a second battery.. or possibly a higher capacity battery.. but cant upgrade the CPU/graphics once you have bought..

      • True! Wonder if I can upgrade to an SSD without voiding the warranty… Doubt it!

    • Any desktop with similar specs? For gaming?

  • +1

Appliancesonline withdrew electrolux oven I was watching… 9 available yesterday and then this morning 9:30am, removed it from sale.

  • Hopefully Dick doesn't pull out his normal deceiving tricks on us Ozbargainers.

  • +1

    Mmm cheap Logitech G430 headset - $48.

    • I'm thinking whether to buy it or not! :S Tough choices…

    Goodguys
Do good guys they allow pickup could save on the shipping too

    • I know when you check out with good guys it doesn't allow pickup. But I placed my order this morning and my local good guys called to arrange a delivery time, so it's definitely just stock from the local store. So you might be able to pick it up instead.

  • +3

I purchased the Canon 600d from Goodguys just so I can stop thinking about it and keep on studying for my Exam tomorrow.. fuzzy logic :)

  • +1

Got the 2014 note 10.1 16gb for $429 shipped! Thanks op!

    • good purchase i got mine a few months ago for about $506 delivered + $50 cash back. So you have got a pretty good deal! Plus kit kat is around the corner.

      • +1

        i just ate one

  • Got a Dyson DC58 Animal handheld vacuum cleaner for about $280 delivered from Dick Smith. Pretty happy with that.

    • Huh? I can't find any Dysons on the Dick Smith eBay store.

      • +1

I think it was meant to be TGG. He/she was just excited to pick up the bargain.

        • Ah OK, that explains it.

        • Umm yep sorry about that - TGG not DSE :)

  • Wanted a Samsung recorder. None of the dealers on the special had one. Went to three stores today and could only get down to 299. This evening good guys put them on, got one for 256

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121330179662?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN…

They still have 6 left. 500 gb twin tuner, blu ray 3d

    • Good guys has it for $316 comes down to around $257 with delivery

      • Yes, that's the one I bought.

        • Wonder if you can claim the fitbit flex as mentioned here: www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/BonusOfferListView

        • Confirmed by email that claim is successful, so bonus fitbit flex valued at $129! The Good Guys also refunded the shipping in cash, just had to ask. Unfortunately they have made the Samsung out of stock now

  • Any suggestions on a microwave from Goodguys (fairly low use), been googling for an hour without a clear choice.

  • +1

Just purchased the series 7 Samsung 55 inch TV, works out to be $1819 shipped.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141273565803?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN…

If you offset the bonus $200 cash back offer and fitbit band, the TV will fall around the $1500 mark shipped.

    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/content/samsung-real…
    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/content/fitbitpromot…

    • That all sounds great and I hate to be a downer, but are you sure you qualify for those bonuses when buying off their eBay store?

      Did you check with them?

      • People have received $50 bonus in-store credit above so it might work. :)

  • Picked up the LG 42LB6500 for around $670 after picking up in store and having the delivery refunded. ;) Very happy with this TV. :)

    • Hi very interested in the same TV how did you do that and where did you but it from.
      Thanks in advance

Edit does it have the motion remote and 3d glasses?

      • TGG.

      • +1

I got mine from The Good Guys… What happens is you get an email confirming it's been assigned to a store. Once you know what store, give them a call and arrange to go pick it up and get the delivery fee refunded. :)

Yeah, comes with the magic remote and 4 pairs of glasses. They are like the ones you get from the movies (nice and cheap).

        • thanks for coming back :)

        • Who did u arrange the delivery refund with? It's not on the invoice they issued.
