    • I doubt it lightning cables require proprietary tech (expensive) to be compliant, these cables will do, but only for charging, it has been ill advised to do data transfer with non genuine cables

      • With the amount of articles I've read about phones catching fire due to unofficial charges I personally will be steering clear.

Crap USB cables won't kill you, but crappy chargers will.

From what I've read IOS7 is picky with charging voltages so you're pretty much forced to use a quality cable if you want it to charge — the cheap cables have too thin of a wire gauge and won't carry enough current.

    • I'm with you. No chance of me using come crappy cheap thing for the transfer of electricity…..

OP - Why has your price increased by 50% since your last post?

  • +2

You increased your price from just a few days ago and eBay has cables for $1.

Deals like this combined with recent news stories should spark some interest in these types of products! Not that I'm shocked. At least it's a current offer, but I am determined to show some resistance, no matter what the OP is going to charge.

    • LOL!
Be ready for hall-of-fame induction :P

  • Where is this shop

Lol clearout just as the watchdogs are forcing market sellers to dispose of them as they are non compliant.

It's just the USB cable being sold. No charger….

      • I've purchased crappy cables from ebay that have crossed wires on the inside and would short circuit the computer/device.

i used to buy cheap cable from ebay, but then after reading the news about the fake charger happened to the new victim, i think it is not worth to spend $1.50 with the risk of your life… so, sorry guys, NEG for me.. not a bargain when you have to put your life in a line…

  • I got electrocuted by a fake usb charger once.
1000% my fault, quite possibly the most stupid thing i've ever seen/done/yeah.
It wasn't working so I decided to take the cover off it.. whilst it was still plugged into the wall… then I stuck my finger in it.. I was 12 but still, completely retarded haha

Well, of course it was once.

As you are dead (you died age 12), how did you post the comment?

I used to think it was all hype about issues using cheapo lightning cables but there's actually a good reason not to:

and the source of the article:

Not worth trashing a $1000 phone for a cheap cable.

Personally I'm using Belkin, bought whenever there's a special. They are thicker and better made than Apple and are certified.

So what is the original price? (Note the rep's previous post)

Sorry need to neg since you've increased the price and called it a bargain within a few days.

  • Upping prices = a bargain?
