I got an email advising that Supercheap Auto is having 20% off all store stock on Saturday 5th July.

I am a club member, so maybe members only discount…

Geez, you wouldn't feel important in you were just a motor club member.

  • Nice.
was looking at getting a decent ratcheting ring spanner set and a socket set.

  • Excellent. Needed to get some spark plugs. @ $25/each, every discount helps

Let me guess NGK iridium? Try Amazon or Ebay US. Half price!

If they fit, you may be able to use iron plugs. Fancy metaled plugs have far less spark erosion so can last for such a long time. Thus are suited to cars where access is a problem and will last until other stuff is due at 100,000km are whatever.

That said, it's a bit of a leap of faith to go against what the manufacturer recommends. I will be sticking in some iron core NGK into my Accord Euro. But years ago my Alfa GTV had normal plugs and I put in the Golden Lodge plugs which were a bit troublesome but were what was recommended in the owners manual!

  • Thanks OP, just in time that i need a caulking gun and some silicone sealant.

Best thing about being a club plus member, just go buy what you want today and they'll automatically credit the difference to your card tomorrow.

I believe the credit on tour card expires after 28 days.
Make sure you spend the difference before then.

        Thanks, wasn't aware of that.

a monkey wrench is what we call a pipe wrench. a torque wrench is totally different.

Watch out for the h6 spark change. Access at the rear passenger side is a bi@tch!

  • Awesome! Was just looking to buy both a mower and a car battery. Bought both today and saved heaps!

    • I'd reconsider the mower… I mow lawns for a living, that's a crap mower.

      • Mower battery, not a mower. :) I didn't know they sold mowers.

VERY poor customer service today, 2 inexperienced checkout operators only people working in store, taking forever for each customer as if they hadnt been shown how to do it, lines taking up half of store.

I had a full basket of purchases and all I wanted was a floor person to open a glass cabinet because I also wanted to buy a hands free phone car kit which was locked up, there was absolutely NO floor staff anywhere! Faced with perhaps a 30 min line up decided 20% discount was not worth the bother, dropped my basket and walked out.

VERY pissed off as it took me nearly am hour to select all of these products and what I really wanted I couldn't buy it.

Never go to supercheap auto again, not that cheap, super shit customer service!

From 1st second I walked in and checkout guy did not know if you had to be member or not to get 20%, shit product range, nowhere to move, you are stuck behind some guy taking 20 mins blocking an entire aisle…

    Up yours supercheap!

    • Hehe you sound pissed off

    • My experience was very similar, but there was a stinky dude in line behind me. Supercheap generally have the worst staff for the automotive retailers.

  • saved $30 on a polisher….cars will be very happy
