  • Seems to be the best price around on the TV. Does anyone know if this TV is good? I can't find many reviews on it.

    • It's a series 6 so while it would be lacking a lot of the added features which most people don't use, the main visual difference would be the CMR which might make a difference on a screen this big.

  • +3

Here's a review for the UE version (same thing for Europe).
    http://www.avforums.com/review/samsung-h6400-ue55h6400-3d-le…

I've been doing some research looking myself - the general consensus is the h64xx is the best value for money. Good quality, but at the level before you get to crazy prices.
Obviously I want a more expensive model, but I think I'll end up with the h64xx also…

    • Agreed. The H6400 series are excellent for the price.

Sony are quite a bit more expensive and you'd only maybe go them if you're a gamer and want the lowest input lag.

  • Does the camera discount include DSLR?

  • I don't think much of there new layout, i put 'bluray 3d' in the search engine and it came back with 13282 hits, almost all the hits are not blurays. How are you suppose to find anything

    • It's so hard to find anything on their website anymore, it's no longer condjucive to browsing especially the sale categories. I have had to resort to using Googling JB + title name to find specific products.

    • You have to use the boxes on the left side and tick them, seems to work that way

  • +2

Whoah that's a lot of TV!

  • For this price, I would try and get a price match from Bing Lee on the Samsung TV as they have a promotion for some kind of gift card bonus.

    • +1

I'm pretty sure JB list the product as 'Awaiting Stock' intentionally to void the item of being eligible for a price match with their competitors as most other companies will only allow a price match if the item is currently 'in stock'.

      • Ah fair enough. Thought the stock was ready to be picked up and taken home today :P

  • No games?

  • Also seems to be 20% off cds and vinyl, individual marked down prices are shown, but no banner promoting the fact

  • Does anyone know if the 'Buy 2 get 1 free' special for TV shows is still on?
Been waiting for the 20% off DVD sale just to double up on the savings :D

  • Wolf of Wall Street.. Showing ticketed price as 40, reduced to 30. Rip off.

    • +6

It's the biggest scam since the Wolf of Wall Street

      • Give it time, it'll be in the 2 for $20 category eventually.

        • good to see the bluray is now under $20 today

  • Do they have the 50 month interest free going aswell? It says valid till 23/7, so last day today?

  • 20% of blu-ray and dvd. One day only. Wednesday 23rd July.

  • Good deals. My bro bought a 75inch Samsung but for a lot more. Pretty sure it must have been a different model as it was much more expensive. JB seemed to be falling behind on video games at the moment. Was hoping for a 20% off so I could go into the store again but prices are almost 20% higher then Big W, Target, Kmart etc these days

    • Everyone else sells that model for 4k+

      • Nah saw they had the other model on sale as well. The RRP of the one he got was like 7k. Did not look into the difference but that is great price for a 75 inch. They are pretty massive

      • Yeah the TV Is a bargain

  • Don't forget cashback on select d-link products http://registration.dlink.com.au/promotion.aspx

  • Game of Thrones Season 3 Blu-ray is only $35.98 for those interested… (I'll probably pick it up).

  • I have a 20% off CDs voucher from subscribing to a Free Month of JB Now (see https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/152764 ) - if I use this today when all CDs are 20% off anyway, will I effectively receive 40% off CDs?

    • ooo… good question! Interested in this. Not interested in JB Now tho…

      • Is this off cd s too? Didn't read that.

    • Can confirm that this did not stack :( But, you never know - you might find a staff member having a bad day who wants to help you out! Worst that can happen is a 'no'

  • +3

Please dont wear beats headphones to the gym while wearing a baseball cap.

    • +5

Why? You would be the coolest cat in the gym. :P

      • Hrmmm sarcasm meter must of been not working for that member that gave the neg vote.

    • Let me guess, he also had the start of full sleeve tattoos and pants with the crotch down around his knees?

      • …so we're talking full dress uniform here.

  • Samsung UA75H6400 75 would it be better waiting for HDMI 2.0 UHD TV's to get to around this price around the end of the year start of next.

    • +2

Depends what you want to achieve. This is a pretty good price for a 75" HDTV and given the lack of UHD content or certainty, even waiting a year may not give you that or much better value for a good brand. I could be wrong but if I didn't have my 70" Sharp I'd jump on this in a heartbeat.

      • I've got a 47" LG Full HD 3D 47LM7600 at the moment so anything would be a big upgrade

Somethin like this at $3k ( HDMI 2.0 all the way )

        Panasonic TH65AX800A 65" UHD 4K 3D LED LCD TV
        Ultra-HD LED LCD TV (3840 x 2160p)
2,000Hz Back Light Scan (100Hz Native)
Twin HD Tuner (Picture in Picture)
Active Shutter Progressive Full HD 3D
        Dual Core Processing Engine
        Life+ Screen Enabled
        50/60p with HDMI 2.0 & Display Port 1.2a
        http://www.videopro.com.au/p-7741-panasonic-th65ax800a-65-uh…

        $5,166.70 Shame about the price

      • +1

I've got a Sharp 70" (for $2,450) and its been great, but now its going on Gumtree….

Just ordered the Sammy 75" in store (to save $59 delivery) and got it for $2,970

On top of the Samsung 12 month warranty, the rep said JB HiFi volunteer an EXTRA 18 months warranty on top at no cost.

When I bought my LG GPad 8.3" tablet from JB a few months ago, the (different) rep said same thing but extra 12 months. I havent seen it in writing, but good on JB for making an effort.
The "must be of reasonable quality and last a reasonable length of time"* clause of the Consumer Guarantee Act should back that up anyway.
*may not be exact word for word..

    • +1

Not one TV Network shows tv in Ultra and are there even movies in UHD yet?

  • 75" and no 4K? no thanks

    • +2

At least you save $5000+ in comparison.

    • +2

If you can find a 75 inch+ display with 4k from Samsung for $3k please post the deal.

I recently had to stop myself from buying the 84" 4k LG for around $13,000 because it's just far too much to spend on a tv. I highly doubt we'll be seeing a tv of that size and quality for under $4000 for at least 5 years so this is a good in between. Not to mention it gives the industry some time to figure out more effective ways of providing content.

      • +7

You had to stop yourself? My bank balance would do that for me LOL.

        • +1

LG just released a 79" UHD for $9,999. It's amazing how those extra 5 inches of the 84" model add thousands to the price.

    • +2

      75" and it's under 3k? Yes please… ;)

  • What benefit does hdmi 2.0 have?

    • +1

Higher bandwidth for the new 4K (UHD) format, although from what I can tell it still uses multi stream for 4K-60Hz, the same as displayport.

  • +2

Still find it funny when people spend $8k+ to get in early on 4K technology. Free to air TV barely even shows anything at 1080p, 4K content is another 5-10 years away

    • +2

Bragging rights… I have a person in the office who did the same. I asked him what content does he plan to watch in 4K? <crickets chirping> Oh wells as long as he is happy.

    • +2

1080p on FTA? 1080i would be the absolute best and many of the shows on GEM, 7 mate and one are so old they wouldn't have invented HD.

      • +1

        My point exactly

    • -1

1080p? Or 1080i. Even when it's coming in at 1080, it's often re-hashed 576 or is compressed. I reckon top quality 576p would look reasonably good on 75".

  • Is the 5% not off the samsung TV as well? It says excludes TVs!

Is this the regular price of this TV now?

  • +1

I was waiting for 30% off Pioneer and Kenwood car sound. :(

Also too bad they don't have the 50 months interest free on the Samsung TVs! Would be only $15 a week for the $3k one

    • where does it say they dont have it?

      • +1

Sorry, the website is really weird. I couldn't see the ad for a while.

  • This is the best price. I got mine barely 2 month ago from The Good Guys at $3970! (+$329 for 3 extra years of warranty). So the price dropped almost a thousand $. If you want to buy a big TV, buy now!
Re FHD and 4K: unless you use this as a computer monitor to play games or work at 4K, it's a waste to use 4K as a TV now or at least 5 years more - like others have said TV barely even shows anything at 1080p yet let alone 4K.

    • Too bad you can't split the screen and watch 4 1080p streams concurrently ala bttf2

      • +1

Gotta wait till October 21, 2015

  • Im confused by the stand of the Samsung TV, the first one shows that it is in the middle, but after i scroll down, the stand is different?

Is this the same model or just JB made a mistake when they posted pictured?

  • +1

Bought a m950t there for $76, cheapest is $86 on static ice

  • +1

Just got True Detective Series 1 Blu Ray in-store for $32. Fair price I think.

  • +1

Just bought the 75" samsung 6400.

    • Congrats, did you get it interest free 50 months? does the offer end today?

Bing lee cant price match this offer! I checked

  • Ultra hd bluerays arnt even main stream yet, normal blue rays look only decent on a 75 tv, it's like having DVD movie on a blue ray player, you get my point.

    • Are you sitting 10m away from your TV? cuz i sure as hell can tell the difference between a 1080p and 4k 2.5-3m away. Good luck with finding 4k content thou!

  • Can anyone confirm if the 50 months interest free is applicable to the 75inch Samsung TV?

    • It is !!!.. 50 months interest free can only be used on advertised prices! and this IS AN ADVERTISED price!

No haggle on price is needed so its all good! :)
Offer ends today though so we'll see.. best to fill in the application now.

      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/features/finance/hsbc-50-months-in…

60 second approval and go in same day to finish the purchase

Power usage of this thing is 290w just so you know

Samsung LCD B650 55" uses 250w … ( non LED ) so this 75" uses only 40w more a 20" larger screen with mini PC inside.

      • +1

75" has twice the viewable area of a 55" TV

  • Lol omg, I was just looking for a 70"+ tv for under $3k just yesterday. That timing, and to think I was going to go Sharp…

    • hurry offer ends today! and purchase needs to be in store if you want the 50 days interest free.

      • -1

I called the Campbelltown store. Apprantly the deal starts today, and it ends Sunday. I was told it was fine for me to come in on the weekend and get the tv on interest free!

    • Wait another question? I really want this tv wall mounted but can't seem to see any wall mounts of this certain tv? Their official ones only go up to 65"…

      • there are after market wall mounting kits for 75"+ TV's . worry about it later.

      • Its only 31KG without stand - a lot of TV wall mounts will handle that.

While some mounts might say "up to 65" - if it also says it supports TVs up to 45KG in weight - I dont see any reason why a larger but lighter TV would be a problem.

Can anyone think of a reason Ive missed ?

  • Very tempting, but will wait until boxing day sales. The price could drop down to $1999.

    • +3

      Doubt it.

      • yeah i dont think we'll see 75" TV's at this price for at least another few years. Unless you want a China branded one.

    • Haha, if that happens I would also hope the price for a brand new car like Hyundai i30 drops down to $5000.

      • I'm looking to buy another one come December it will be my third i30 this year :) haha

  • Pretty good deal on Cosmos Blu-ray!

  • Anyone know if JB stock any good region free bluray players

  • Can't beat a 70D at $1003!

  • +6

I just went down to JB and bought the 75" Samsung TV, he let me haggle :)

End result was free delivery, The Hobbit - Desolation of Smaug 3D Blu ray and the UA75H6400AWXXY for $2992.98

    http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/76120/24166/image.jpg

Receipt uploaded incase anyone else can use it, great deal!
